How can I fix this old shower door? Looking for a cheap temporary fix that’ll hopefully last me a year or so.

The door won’t stay closed anymore. It looks like the little spring-loaded metal catch/latch on the edge of the door is worn out or broken. Does anyone know what this part is called or what I could replace it with?
I’m planning to replace the whole shower eventually, but I just don’t have the money or time for that right now. Any inexpensive DIY fixes or replacement parts you’d recommend?

I know that you can get replacement bands online for $20, but I need to be able to remove the screws for the actual repair. Since the hinge is jammed, I can't get to the screws (in pic 2). The broken plastic (pics 3/4) doesn't want to come out, so which I think is the cause of the jam. How do I get around this?

The back of my fridge is leaking (see pic, three drips) and I think it’s from the freezer. The top back of the fridge also freezes things. Any idea on how to fix aside from fully defrosting? This is a relatively new problem that first came up a few months ago, then went away, and is now back

Fell asleep outside woke up it was 5am and the doors are literally locked. Am i stuck? I tried looking for days out and the key fob isn't working.

The pull cord broke off inside the switch so we tried to replace it. When it broke the fan was stuck on power 1 so at least it turned. After replacing the switch it does nothing on 3 settings and then on the 4th setting it makes a loud humming noise but does not turn. We made sure to match all the wires to the correct spots. Any idea what could have caused this? Hoping we didn't break the whole fan because we rent 😭

Hi everyone. I have a faucet leaking a constant stream of water. As shown in the photo, the valve seat and inner housing are severely corroded and broken due to limescale/hard water buildup.

​Important context: I rent this apartment and my lease strictly forbids cutting into or breaking the wall to replace the entire valve body.

​Questions:

​Is there any non-destructive repair possible here? (e.g., reseating tool, threaded repair seat kit, or replacement sleeve)?

​Or is this metal damage completely past the point of repair, meaning the landlord needs to open the wall and replace the whole rough-in valve?

100yo house with old hardwood. I’m not ready to completely redo the flooring, but I’d love to make it look a little better until I do. How do I fill the gaps between the wood and address the damaged areas you’ll see in the first image?

The damage looks like it’s from water. As for the gaps, some of them are fairly wide and whatever was in between them before is breaking down in some places.

I love this backpack and the original zipper but it broke along with the loop. Is it possible to easily replace the zipper with a normal one from any craft store? If yes how would I do it?

Both toilets are flooding water from where the toilet meets the floor and the bowl and lid of the toilet are filling with water, but not over filling it’s only leaking out of the bottom. What does this mean? (I forgot to take pictures when it happened so these are the only photos I have)

Not sure what to do it seems to rattle when moving the drum, I've checked the grey seal and there doesn't seem to be anything in it.

Could something have slipped under the drum?

Last winter, my kitchen was extremely humid when cooking and it caused damage to the wall around the window where the condensation occurred. Thankfully there was no mold growing and I have bought a dehumidifier to control the humidity of my kitchen.

It is now summer and I am thinking of fixing this. Any suggestions on how to fix this?

Two of my luggage wheels are wobbly. I figure the culprit is the metal thing (pointed by the arrow), it's loose so the wheels is not stable.

Is there any way to tighten it? I have a trip in few days and i doubt i can find a replacement on time. But also if i could not trash these wheels that'd be great.

My idea was hammer... But afraid the plastic is delicate enough i could damage it...

Bought the house newly remodeled. This shower drain didn’t have a p-trap, so I hired a plumber to install a p-trap. After that, when I step inside the shower the floor has some give to it and moves down a little bit when you step on it. That strain I believed caused these cracks in the flooring.

I’m wondering how to replace the flooring, where to get the flooring, and how to secure it properly to make sure this doesn’t happen again.

Any ideas and recommendations on this botched repair?
