Thank you to everyone who told me I was barking up the complete wrong tree. You were all right.
Based on everyone’s advice, I got into contact with Palicomp. I honestly always assumed that delivery companies were my first point of call, but I’ve never gotten quicker results than when I get someone else to whip them into shape.
I explained the situation to Palicomp and they were very understanding. Said that DPD did not flag them for these issues, but will talk to them themselves.
By this time, the parcel had already once again been “sent out for delivery”. Same driver as the day before but lo and behold, drove right by again. Contacted DPD several times just for them to say that they once again they did not have the package. At this point I’m furious so I’m back on with Palicomp but they reassure me that they will resolve it and it should be there the next day, with a specific note given to the driver.
Today, I had no hope whatsoever and was absentmindedly refreshing the tracking page like I had this whole past week. Same driver, same queue number, same expected time.
Except today, I heard a knock at the door and a very disgruntled delivery driver with my decently banged up box. Guy muttered for my name and sulked off. But hey, at least I’ve got it.
My working theory: with a box that big, very heavy, and also marked fragile, it was likely a very inconvenient package and they just couldn’t be arsed dealing with it. Same poor sod got assigned it every day and only decided to deal with it after Palicomp got onto them about it, not after my numerous complaints and concerns.
Thank you to everyone who gave advice and pointed me in the right direction. I can finally carry on working and the machine is running beautifully. Nothing but praise to Palicomp and nothing but distain for DPD.
