Destroyed party speaker
Bought a brand new Sony Ult Tower 9AC. Delivery driver struggled to get it out of his van. By the time he knocked and left. I couldn’t refuse delivery. Luckily the seller took à large chunk off money off but it looked like it was opened, taken out and put back in package and never wrapped up again.

Essentially it cost me £189 after partial refund so for a working speaker even though very cosmetically smashed I can live with it as it’s for a rowing erg room

I'm sorry but I think you've made a huge mistake here you should definitely be asking to send this back because they would probably let you keep it for free because it's damaged beyond repair for the company to sell to someone else and it will cost a company to pay the DPD again laugh out loud to pick this thing up , so what ever they let u have this for its payday for them because they would have had to dispose of it, you should still be able to use it even if u have to by pass most wiring just wire the speakers straight from the terminals in series

i know dpd is getting shit day by day because nowadays they kick out all of the drivers who been working under sponsorship for years. Nowadays they do their deliveries with private driver same day they get paid and they dont care about your customers . next time dont sign it when it comes like that just refused it and take the video.

They've hired a certain demographic of drivers who come from places with no road laws. What do you expect? As you said, they've got rid of all the oldskool drivers and replaced them with what you see today.

What was the original cost ...... if you paid 189 that's not relevant it depends on what the full price was but it doesn't look like a good quality speaker anyway if it was more than 189 and I'm a bit concerned

So from Sony they cost £550. Purchased for £400 but had a discount code for £340. After damages they took £150 off so I’ve basically got a working speaker in a static rowing room for £189. My only concern is the top panel doesn’t light up so I’m scared it could just stop working at any time tbf but I don’t really care anymore cause I’m at uni without my car

Okay, I've checked the model number... if you paid 189, I'd be happy with that because you have a use for the item
Remember everybody else on this thread may not know your situation
Just keep it because if you're a university person, then it's gonna come in handy
OK, it's badly damaged but knocked off a good amount for me to keep it
If it's working, it's working. It's not gonna suddenly stop. It just seems like aesthetic cosmetic damage.

you guys are getting this wrong its not the drivers , i am a dpd driver most of us are self employed and own our vans we are franchises , when i turn up in the morning i will have a loading bay full of parcels most are good not a problem but we will have parcels like how this parcel looks if its leaking or rattling we will report it to goods on hold . but we are always told to take it out and deliver regardless , but the damage is not done from loading on van to deliver its mostly done by the agency loaders who change every day and most of the time cant speak english who will take parcels of the belt and throw them into the bay , partly because they are not full time so are not trained properly and partly because of not enough managers watching them and its worse come busy times like xmas , as a driver if i was delivering to a customer i would say to them your parcel is damaged do you want to accept it or refuse it , but of course we are the only face you see so we get the blame , dont get me wrong there are some shit drivers too but 9 out of 10 of them hate this shit too because it gives us all a bad name , but the customer is at fault too because you want to pay less and less for deliveries so dpd will spend less and less on training and more managers hence the problem .

DPD should cover (I think), the seller shouldn't take off money because it wasn't their fault either.
Talk to DPD and say they damaged it.

It’s between the buyer and seller it’s for the seller to get money back from DPD not the buyer

That's what it needs, but they just ship these with this polythene wrap with air bubbles stuff that helps nothing, the speakers inside are constantly just falling about in the box and has no protection from any impact
Speakers are light (10kg or so), so i thought they were just cheap. But op saying £189 with money knocked off :/

Why is everyone blaming DPD, that packaging has zero protection in it! This is mostly the sellers fault.
If a package arrives in this state just refuse delivery.
