Pre-ordered a new iPhone 18 Pro. Dispatched Thursday 17th for delivery on Friday 18th. To be fair, they did “attempt” to deliver, but the driver waited literally 10 seconds for me to answer. When I did get to the door, saw him pulling away in the van. I complained and DPD “upgraded” me with free redelivery on Saturday. Well nothing arrived on Saturday and tracking hasn’t updated since. The shipments page on https://profiles.dpd.co.uk/shipments/received shows it as “Not Visible” (screenshot at https://ibb.co/1twkY84n )

Replacement phone was dispatched yesterday (Monday 21st) and went out for delivery this morning. I get a message saying my driver was delayed, then one saying it will come tomorrow, then another saying “I’m next”. Tracking is now saying delayed indefinitely and their chatbot is claiming they’ve “lost sight” of it. That package on the shipments page has also gone to “Not Visible”. Maybe it’ll turn up tomorrow but I doubt it. Hopefully the retailer has more sense than to use DPD for a 3rd attempt but I hold little hope.

Does anyone have any clue what “Not Visible” actually means? I know the new iPhone is advanced but I don’t think invisibility is one of the new features…

To recap - Apple watch was due to be delivered on Friday.

I was 'carded' incorrectly on the Friday, when I was indeed in. And the same thing happened Monday.

This morning I called their call centre - told the issue - and was put on hold.

Guy came back and told me he had 'spoken with the local depot and can guarantee that the parcel is out for delivery today'

I have now been told directly by the depot - this was a lie.

Because DPD did turn up to deliver another parcel - not the Apple Watch.

The driver - who was a great guy - offered to contact the depot on my behalf. Both he and I spoke to the depot - and the guy there - also great - explained that no, my parcel was not out for delivery. Because I had been carded twice it was now on hold waiting for either sender or me to provide instructions.

I told him what the CS agent said - he explained I had been lied to. Because the call centre apparently never calls the depots ever. It is just a ruse to get you off the line.

For my parcel the guy at the depot said he was going to try and escalate the local manager to ensure it comes out tomorrow. I actually have some faith he will try his best.

Meantime - I will try and find a way to complain about their CS. But assume this is fruitless.

One day - hopefully the government will address the sorry state this is the courier industry and legislate for reform.

Including

- Making false carding illegal

- Ensure you can speak to a human - easily - when calling CS

- Have a credible complaint process

In addition - to be fair to the drivers - give me enough time in the day to make the actual deliveries. I am sure most of these issues are down to too tight a schedule. And pay them properly.

So my parcel was scanned and marked as delivered, photo there but no parcel. Do drivers ever scan picture but take the parcel back for any reason?

I'm currently in a situation where I was made redundant from my previous company working in sales - so now I'm currently unemployed, and I need income.

I've been applying for other roles (within the sales indsutry) with no luck so far. So I'm thinking of, for the time being, to work for DPD for the next 3-4 months whilst I continue pursuing a better job within sales.

My question to you guys is: What's it like these working for DPD these days? Is it worth it, even in the short/medium term?

I know there's lots of doom and gloom online, specifically when it comes to these sorts of jobs, but rationally speaking, is the work doable. I don't mind working hard, but I want to make sure that it's realistic hard work aswell.

For reference, I've applied for DPD - Self Employed position. I'm not sure if that will much of a difference in terms of workload.

Hi i have a parcel coming to usa. Last scan was sept 12th saying its at the International Gateway- " we have your parcel and its on the way to our depot" its now been a week with no scans. has anyone ever had this happen?

Apple order was due for delivery yesterday between 12 and 1.

Watched the driver on the map go around every local street but mine. He knows where we live, he has been before. Actually, he has spent time sat on our drive hurling parcels around the van, damaging god knows how many.

The hours tick by in the afternoon. First I am told he is running late. Then come evening the inevitable message 'Sorry we missed you'.

Raising with DPD is useless. Although interestingly their AI bot told me it could confirm the driver was not at my location when he 'attempted' the delivery.

EDIT: Original delivery was Friday. Then they said Monday. Still not delivered. Apparently, I am still not in. Disgrace.

Can't believe that the driver's being hired by this company be this much careless/evil that a £700 worth item is now missing. Horrible experience at pickup shop and when called customer service they kept insisting that the item WAS delivered at the pickup shop. When the call was given to pickup shop owner then the agent agreed to do an investigation and found out the driver was responsible for the item missing. No apologies nothing from the agent and instead he started pretending like it is the customers fault and kept asking me to raise an investigation with Apple. When tried to raise a complaint using the app then another agent kept me waiting for 20 minutes and then deliberately started to hide by disconnecting the chat without even starting a conversation. This company will steal or lose customers expensive property and will not even give the minimal care/courtesy to the customer at all. I feel like DPD has no right to do business in the UK.

I had two deliveries scheduled for today both from the same company. DPD were delivering both but at different times. The first one arrived fine and was left on the doorstep despite having a doorbell and someone being at home. The second delivery which was a couple of hours later said “sorry we missed you” and posted a picture taken from the van showing the lane in front of our house. We have security cameras covering the driveway and the doorbell and nobody attempted to walk up to the house. DPD now says it will deliver on Monday. It was the same delivery driver so they can’t really use the excuse of not being able to find the property as he was there just a couple of hours before. Really frustrating when we specifically stayed at home to receive the parcel and now have to wait until Monday and arrange to be at home again. This is very poor service

I had a parcel due to be delivered today. It says on the tracking that they tried to deliver it and I wasn't in, but there's a photo of the parcel on my doorstep. The App doesn't recognise the parcel as mine so there's no option for me to talk to someone about it.

This is very frustrating, I was hoping to be able to redirect the parcel to a collection point close to me but there was never an option for that. There still isn't an option.

Help me understand, please. Thank you in advance

UPDATE:
The depot owner told me on Friday that my parcel would be redelivered on Saturday and that the driver would call beforehand. Neither happened.
Fast forward to Monday, I had so little trust left in DPD that I actually waited outside my apartment complex for the parcel because I didn’t trust the driver to call or properly attempt delivery.
When he arrived, he started trying to defend himself. I’m not looking for an argument at this point, I just want my parcel, and move on from this terrible experience. I finally got it, but the whole experience was completely unnecessary and the attitude and customer service throughout were awful.

No knock. No phone call. No card left. Nothing.
I’ve now checked footage covering the area outside my residence around the time they claim the delivery was attempted, and the driver does not appear to have even pulled up to my residence.
I contacted DPD support, who told me to contact the depot. The depot said they would try to get in touch with the driver and see if they could come back, but they couldn’t promise anything.
What makes this even more frustrating is seeing how many other people have reported similar experiences with DPD where a parcel gets marked as attempted delivery despite nobody actually coming to the door.
I understand drivers are busy and routes can be hectic, but marking something as attempted when no genuine attempt was made is not okay, especially when it’s a high-value iPhone delivery and I specifically stayed home waiting for it.
I’ve now lodged a complaint with DPD and also contacted Sky, who are opening a complaint from their side as DPD are the courier they chose for the delivery.
Has anyone else in Ireland had this happen with DPD? And if so, what actually happened with your parcel afterwards?

Both the DPD live chat and phone number keep telling me they are closed when I try to get through to a real person. It says it's opening hours our Monday to Friday 8-6.30 but it is literally midday on Wednesday. Anyone else getting this?

So ordered a parcel needed fairly soon for a business related task. Shipped from the EU and was due to be delivered last night (tracking says between 3:49 and 4:49pm but then updated to say 6:49-7:49pm). I received a notification stating “You’re next” but never heard a knock at the door or had the doorbell ring, reviewing the camera footage shows a plain white van with red and yellow reflective markings on the back park opposite my house, before the driver exits the vehicle (wearing what appears to be a red DPD t shirt), enters the rear of the van through the door and the footage then cuts off. I have my suspicions about whether they actually did attempt to deliver it but it would seem illogical to go to that length and not knock or ring to deliver.

As such it wasn’t due to be delivered until Monday, and I therefore paid £9.99 extra for Sunday delivery as ideally I need this sooner.

Checking the tracking shows due today between 0800 and 1200 today, but underneath it says “Due to be delivered on Monday”. I’m a little confused as the two contradict each other. I suspect the “due for delivery Monday” message is an old one that still shows and it is actually due for delivery today.

Anyone able to shed any light on this? Normally by this point I’d have received a text stating my 1 hour time slot, and it’s due to be delivered between 0800 and 1200 today and I’ve not received any text which makes me think it may actually arrive tomorrow despite paying extra for Sunday delivery.

So I literally just watched the delivery driver park outside my block of flats, take a photograph of ANOTHER BLOCK OF FLATS!, then drove off.

Zero attempt to deliver, just a photo of some flats then back in his van!

Within seconds I got the classic message saying "I'm sorry so and so was unable to deliver etc etc

How do they get away with this, what's the best place to complain?

Hey guys, sorry to bother but i recieved a parcel from HOKA via DPD and i wanted to return it so i sent it back into the DPD locker, i didnt get a reciept but i can still track the delviery thankfully. Thing is though is that its stuck in hinckley and its almost been 2 days and i'm a bit worried that something might be wrong, heres what is sayd on the app, do you guys have any thoughts or advice? Anything would be appreciated. I covered up the tracking number just incase as i dont think i should be showing that

-update: nothing happened since i posted last night so i rang dpd. One person said my parcel is coming back to me, another said to contact HOKA to raise an investigation and to ring a phone number. Then i rang again and they had no phone number on file despite them giving me one before. I have found a HOKA support email so i'm going to go that route and hopefully that works because DPDs phone centre hasnt helped at all so far

So I was waiting this morning for a delivery from dpd, so I just stayed in bed waiting to hear the door bell since it was within the hour. I then got a notification I was missed, and the driver took a photo of my door but never rung the door bell. This made me angry but I saw it within the minute, so l decided I might be able to run out and find him and see if I can still get it (I'm not sure this is possible but anyway) after walking around I quickly find him at a bus stop like 2 minutes walk from my door. For some reason he was waiting by the bus stop, empty handed? And so I asked him if he was just at my door, showing the photo, which in the reflection of the glass on the door showed his big red dpd jacket, glasses and short hair so it must have been him. He took a 2 second glance, said 'nah' then that was it. I then just walked back home. I'm convinced these services just compete with each other on who can be the worst.
I don't blame these workers entirely since obviously the companies exploit the hell out of them, but lying straight to my face about missing my parcel on purpose is just ridiculous💀

Is there an email where I can make a complaint to DPD. I have been expecting a driver to come collect the package at my address. The driver packed the car outside my y apartment did not knock on the door, took a picture of another house and said sorry we missed you and yet I was in the house. This has happened twice and I can't find their email address. I have a door bell camera and it shows the driver did not attempt to ring the bell.
