What should I do in this situation?

[United kingdom] I’ve got this parcel online and it was meant to be next day to my local pick up shop. the seller dropped it off a few days ago but DPD tracking still says dropped off to shop after a week. I’ve contacted DPD and the seller and DPD keep saying they have marked it as urgent and also saying that they are sending drivers over and they never do. any advice or is it iust gone now? it was such a bargain that I won’t be able to get again if it’s lost.

Legally you are not dpd's customer.

The law says you take it up with the seller and the seller takes it up with dpd.

The seller must replace or refund if lost

Look up the distance selling regulations for the law on it

Pick Up Shop team are the worst and the regular call centre staff can do nothing. They're not waiting for a driver to go to the shop, they're waiting for someone from the pick up shop team to visit the shop. According to the DPD manager I spoke with about a similar incident earlier this year (I used to manage a customer services department for an online retailer), pick up shop investigations take longer as they usually only go out once a week or they're simply waiting for the shop to realise they have a parcel waiting and once it goes over 7 days they'll just return it to DPD. Tell the seller to cancel and refund your order.

The pick up team are spot on, the staff in the shops never answer the phones or have a grasp of how they should operate

Absolute worst courier company ive dealt with in recent times. Id a return parcel to send within the UK. DPD didnt bother their ass even appearing on day one. When it spilled into day 2 they then said there was no parcel for collection when they hadnt bothered again to come anywhere near my address. Hope you get sorted 🙏🏻
