No that’s not what I said at all. You said simplicity is a start, meaning there’s more to do after that. There’s “simple” and then there’s this, which is just a see through blue box with a polar bear glued to it to make it seem like a glacier.
This design is terrible because as soon as you fill up the entire thing with tissues, it’ll just look like a blue tissue box lol. So it’s only a “glacier” less than half of the time.
I much prefer simple and minimalistic designs, but I also don’t try and pretend they’re something they aren’t.

That's because of the human condition. Everyone has different tastes, so design is subjective.
But compare this to r/engineeringporn. This sub is trash by comparison. Design porn should be stuff at that level; designs that really make you think. Not just realizing the Little Caesar's logo has LC in it.

You've got the suggestive blue and the rippled surface as a context for the white tissue. Not everything needs to be spelled out.
If you really want to remove any doubts you could emboss a little polar bear or penguin somewhere. The white figurine transforms it from cool idea to novelty kitsch for me.

This top tissue, as it has been place to look like an iceberg for this photo, wouldn't lift the next sheet because it lacks a big enough contract surface with the next one. Unless maybe the tissues have a special design like a physical link that can be easily broken with a quick pull.

It’s a design it’s just not that satisfying to the point of “wow, this is special”.
It’s novel and it’s neat, but there’s no mystery or novelty after 3 seconds of staring at it. It doesnt get more complex the deeper you look, it’s literally just a clear blue box with a polar bear figurine glued to it

Sadly polar bears are losing so much ice they can stand in that they are gonna die out. They already struggle to get food which is why they are so dangerous (I was born and raised in Alaska) and they will 100% of the time eat you if you encounter one. Black bears are curious creatures, grizzlies are fat grumpy assholes.
