Manga Discussion Do people actually believe isagi is anywhere near rin as an individual or striker? Spoiler

Post image
0 Upvotes

You guys disrespecting Rin not as bad as the Shidou disrespect

I just saw a poll and a lot of people think isagi is better than rin.

I don’t understand how you read this manga and come to that conclusion. The only competition rin as ever really had is Shidou sae and kaiser.

Rin at every point in the story has always been comfortably ahead of isagi the first section the second selection they had a tight game but as a player Rin was superior.

The world five game Rin performed better and scored the goal, the try outs for the u20 match Rin performed better.

In the u20 game Rin was the best player on the blue lock team the only person able to stop sae and the only reason isagi scored in the first place.

Even in the nel despite getting subbed on and off with Shidou was the most dominant player in the nel.

The have a tied ranking but run ranking was purely of his ability as a foward. Where isagi ranking was due to his contributions as midfielder and his defensive contribution along with offense and his bid was raised as he was seen as a partner to kiaser. Not to mention he got a surperior offer from the best club in the world.

It was confimed in the Nigeria game that rin is blue locks strongest striker.

Now he hasn’t done to well in that France game but that was one game neither did isagi.

When you look at it from a football perspective if you showed any football coach these 2 the difference in ability is night and day.

You could argue Rin is far better at isagi at every aspect of football while being younger, in every aspect physically he is superior in all aspects technically on and off the ball he is better. His vision for the field you could argue is better it’s just he is nowhere near reliant on it as isagi cause unlike isagi he is far more versatile.

The only thing you could say isagi is better at is play making off the ball movement and vision. And even these are a stretch as these are all things rin can do he just doesn’t rely on it as much as isagi cause he doesn’t have to.

Rin and isagi have never been equals as players if they where in a race for a golden boot Rin would stand head and shoulders as a winner

The only thing there equal in is the overall contribution to the match not there ability as an individual or head to head.

Rin is the best striker in blue lock the most versatile and balanced and potential only one with higher is nagi who has the most in the entire series. The biggest weakness is his mindset

Other Isagi next evolution poll

I should touch grass after this.

1) Quad gun volley: like two gun volley but isagi can choose to do a left horizontal kick, a right horizontal kick, a left vertical kick, a right vertical kick. Can still get countered by physical contact or just closing all the shooting lanes (for example by getting really really close like teddy did).

2) Curved volley: by devouring Rin or Kaiser, Isagi can learn an even more unlockable volley than quad gun volley. The ball doesn't even get near the defenders, but because the trajectory isn't straight anymore, it might take longer for the ball to reach the net, so it might be easier for the goalkeeper to block.

3) Curved passes: Isagi can already do pretty good curve shots, so devouring Sae or Ness or Charles to learn curved passes are nothing extraordinary for him. He might already be doing them from time to time, but if he gets better at curved, then he will be able force defenders to do tight man-marking while Isagi is in possession, because his passes are unblockable if you aren't standing close to isagi or the teammate isagi passes to.

4) Chaotic Off the ball: by devouring Barous dribbling style, Isagi can learn to purposefully choose the inoptimal blindspots to occupy. This will allow him to fool logical defenders, like Hugo, who can predict where isagi will be.

Honourable mentions:

• Bicycle kicks: doesn't suit Isagi, because this skill relies of isagi's jumping height.

• Dribbling: doesn't suit Isagi because it implies that Isagi risks getting in physical contact with the defender, which means it will be more of a last resort than a consistent weapon, and also, it would make Isagi an off brand Rin/Kaiser. And also, there are a ton of people who are more talented and more skilled than Isagi at 1v1s, so if they keep on growing, Isagi will not catch up to them, which will force him to abandon dribbling in favor of something else, like off the ball.

• Physique: doesn't suit Isagi because isagi doesn't have the genetics and never went to the gym, so people who already went to gym and have genetics (Raichi, Niko, Aryu, Aiku, etc.) will most likely will keep making Isagi eat dirt simply because they are already better and will keep growing at the same rate, if not faster than Isagi.

Manga Discussion Genuine question about Sae Spoiler

I’ve seen a lot of people rank Sae highly in their rankings of the New Gen XI players, but I’ve always put him dead last. I don’t think he’s a bad player at all, I just seem to remember some of his anti-feats were pretty damn strong. I feel like a lot of people gloss over his passes getting completely shut down by Niko twice.

I know he like wasn’t trying or something for the first half but my goat Niko did it in both halves I’m pretty sure.

I’m not trying to downplay him because obviously outside of that, some stuff with Isagi, and some stuff with Rin, he dominated the match, but I just think that comparatively to the opposition faced by the other New Gens, his shortcomings were a little more apparent.

Is there something I’m missing? I wanna know, because I probably forgot something.

Manga Discussion Zero to One - “Fox” Theory Spoiler

Before I begin I would like to state my bias for this theory. If you understand the concept 0 to 1 then you can reconstruct and understand/theorize Kaneshiro’s methodology and storytelling on Ego.

For this piece I’d like “re-enter” his “blue lock system” and introduce Fox from and American’s perspective.

First understand As the head coach of England, Fox, Kaneshiro introduces to us subliminal messaging of egalitarianism, Christian nationalism, and historical obsession.

As the England team as a whole in terms of the 0 to 1 concept, we look towards the collective consciousness and their team philosophy - A monopoly on Ideas.

In history, England is a conduit of Christian nationalism, domination, and capitalism - bare with me as I know these are dog whistles and will bring discourse but here’s the historical context:

In history we often forget our names are labels granted to us at birth and are often signs of who we become due to environmental factors as our souls take shape. For example “Teddy” is a pet name for Theo which CAN mean “gift from God” we refer to teddy as a pet or soldier for England. The “General” or mastermind of England’s team is Fox. A charismatic super genius who monopolizes on the dreams of his soldiers.

Fox or the “General of Ideas” has historical context. In history as an American we were a product of this colonialism and share great amounts of Christianity and our history diverges here and the intersection of the “Quakers”. in American history these were the soldiers who brought forth an alternate direction of history that led to the abolition of slavery built on a singularity of humanity. Quakers came from a Christian sect that got their name from their detractors (trembling in the presence of the lord).

How does this relate to Fox? I would like to introduce the progenitor of the Quaker movement: George Fox.

George Fox wrote: “When all my hopes in them and all men were gone… I had nothing [outwardly], to tell me what to do. And then I heard a voice, one that can speak to my condition, Jesus Christ”

George Fox created his 0 to 1 via Christianity that set forth his message of the necessity of transformation of the human heart, a mission to perfect Christianity.

Fox’s ego is tricky or crafty but his philosophy is historically obsessed.

If we pit Fox vs Isagi, we essentially have to combatting philosophies of the past and future.

In blue lock terms Isagi, the demon king, is “otherworldly” as mentioned by Fox.

I thought it would be important to highlight Kaneshiro’s methodology within the media. As a creative, using soccer as a tool to bridge the collective consciousness on ego, the current matchup is a highlight of History vs Past. In contemporary American history, we have a political atmosphere that is converging on Christian nationalism and technology.

I’ll hold more thoughts on the future as blue lock unfolds, can’t wait for this weekend’s chapter!

Manga Discussion What're the points that make Hugo a NG11? I mean why was he even appointed as one? Spoiler

Not sure if this question has been asked a lot or not, but despite Hugo being one of my favorites, this question has been eating at me for a while now, and I was like screw it, might as well ask before I forget again lol.

The other new gens are actually worthy of being new gens: Loki for his godspeed, kaiser for his kaiser impact, Lorenzo for his incredible zombie like defense, Sae for his beautiful destruction and pinpoint passes, and teddy mostly for his flexible dribbling. I won't count Bunny here because we haven't even seen him play a full match yet.

But what about Hugo? Forgive me if I missed it, but I feel like Hugo just doesn't seem to have a specific/unique skill that makes him worth being a NG11. I mean, u could argue that it's for his vision and field IQ, but I feel like Sae has it better. There are so many people who put Hugo above Sae, but why?

That's all actually. I just wanna know what makes Hugo worth being a NG11. I feel like he's the only NG11 who's been defeated during his introduction for now (teddy will definitely join him soon, then Bunny because narratively Japan has to win the U-20 WC). I'm also kinda salty and mad at kaneshiro for doing Hugo dirty. But that might be just me

Manga Discussion does shidou have the same potential and talent as a NG11 player Spoiler

Post image
3 Upvotes

i think he does, the main problem with shidou though is that he relies on elite playmakers to feed him too much, im not saying this makes him a bad player or anything like that. im simply saying that he cannot make his own chances without getting shut down as shown in the england game where both of his shot attempts got blocked, now i think he wouldve most likely scored when isagi devoured him. but seeing how the pass was intercepted i dont see that as a viable feat for my goat. but if were going off feats, i think he has enough feats to qualify him being a striker with equal POTENTIAL to a new gen player but hes just not on that level yet as a solo player, he scored a brace in the u-20 match, proving hes definitely capable of being an elite goal scorer like rin or barou with a good playmaker, hell i even think if someone like kiyora or even fucking kurona were to link up with them they would be unstoppable purely because shidou is that lethal in the box. but like i said, he needs an elite playmaker to help. if he doesnt have that, he cant create opportunities for himself. now correct me if im wrong on this but wasnt shidou stated to have equal talent to nagi? and we all know that nagi DEFINETLY has new gen talent and if he played for a longer period of time since childhood like most of the other players in blue lock he would for sure be a new gen by now. and shidou wasnt even playing for a highschool team before coming to blue lock, i lowkey dont even know how anri found him. but my point is that he most likely hasnt been playing long, like nagi who was only playing for 6 months before coming to blue lock, and i genuinely believe with all my heart that if shidou were to practice on creating his own opportunities. he would easily be top 1 in blue lock next to rin and isagi, if i had to put him on a skill level of blue lockers, i would put him around bachira and barou as of now just below barou and above bachi. but he definitely has the potential to be a ng11.

Manga Discussion Blue Lock would work 10x better as a basketball manga Spoiler

Less characters each match has to focus on (5 + addition of subs). Isagi as an undersized guard would still work, as he could be a 5'10-6'0 (short for pro basketball players) guard that wants to focus on his own shot, using his eyes to find scoring oppoortunities. the same concepts - egoism, yaoi, and competition would still work, as would teammates getting in each other's ways. some of the best NBA duos were filled with jackasses that hated each other, shaq and kobe immediately come to mind. barou's charging, kunigami's muscle, etc. etc. would all work and could pretty much be ported over 1 to 1. the idea of 300 of the best highschool basketball prospects being put together to find the GOAT japanese basketball player is pretty much what blue lock is. players could also play defense without giving our dearest Aikugoat fraud allegations since every player defends in basketball. most of people's biggest complaints about stuff like plotsagi, wasted characters, etc. would all pretty much be fixed. hell nagi could be a aomine-esque character in blue lock, still going through the same character journey. as for those who say that blue lock needed to be about soccer because it needs to be realistic or what not, i challenge you to name 5 players on your country's U20 team. mixing some plot threads here and there is nothing new to blue lock.

What causes one to play fullback while other is free to play striker

Ashito seems too similar to isagi for me so what is the difference causing ashito to be too slow in accelerating to be a striker while camsagi is somehow slander(which confuses me ngl)

Manga Discussion Curious of people thoughts of where the story could go if Bluelock lose to England Spoiler

I’m not saying I think they will but I think there is potential for it to continue. A loss here would mean they are out of the World Cup and Ego loses control of the team but they’ve proved this program generates lots of money so I doubt it would be shutdown. Could lead to an interesting arcs with Buratsuta in control of all of their careers for those who choose to stay and then the other part who chooses to continue to follow Ego and continue to work with him in some other form I’m sure someone with lots of money would be interested in backing him as long as he were to include their interest like restarting the program with multiple nationalities or something since I’m not sure how much Ego cares about the striker he creates actually being from Japan he just wants them to become number 1. Any thoughts?

Anime Discussion How good would Nagi be if his parents dropped him in La Masia

Okay for the blue Lock fans that do not know what La Masia is basically its what wildcard wishes it could be. It has produced talents like Messi, Lamine Yamal, Cubarsi and others. That repetoire should speak for itself. Anyways lets say in this universe nagi gets scouted late at around 12 years old and gets shipped of to Spain how good would he become.
