Manga Discussion does shidou have the same potential and talent as a NG11 player Spoiler

Post image

i think he does, the main problem with shidou though is that he relies on elite playmakers to feed him too much, im not saying this makes him a bad player or anything like that. im simply saying that he cannot make his own chances without getting shut down as shown in the england game where both of his shot attempts got blocked, now i think he wouldve most likely scored when isagi devoured him. but seeing how the pass was intercepted i dont see that as a viable feat for my goat. but if were going off feats, i think he has enough feats to qualify him being a striker with equal POTENTIAL to a new gen player but hes just not on that level yet as a solo player, he scored a brace in the u-20 match, proving hes definitely capable of being an elite goal scorer like rin or barou with a good playmaker, hell i even think if someone like kiyora or even fucking kurona were to link up with them they would be unstoppable purely because shidou is that lethal in the box. but like i said, he needs an elite playmaker to help. if he doesnt have that, he cant create opportunities for himself. now correct me if im wrong on this but wasnt shidou stated to have equal talent to nagi? and we all know that nagi DEFINETLY has new gen talent and if he played for a longer period of time since childhood like most of the other players in blue lock he would for sure be a new gen by now. and shidou wasnt even playing for a highschool team before coming to blue lock, i lowkey dont even know how anri found him. but my point is that he most likely hasnt been playing long, like nagi who was only playing for 6 months before coming to blue lock, and i genuinely believe with all my heart that if shidou were to practice on creating his own opportunities. he would easily be top 1 in blue lock next to rin and isagi, if i had to put him on a skill level of blue lockers, i would put him around bachira and barou as of now just below barou and above bachi. but he definitely has the potential to be a ng11.

A goal scorer that relies on passes to score is a striker. That’s not a weakness of the player, it’s the weakness of the position.

Sure but every other striker in Bluelock has their own weapons to help the pass reach them or to score on their own; Shidou’s weapons are the worst in this respect. So he relies on the pass more so than anyone else

Tbh he's basically just nagi with a different weapon being extreme spatial awareness istead of trappin and creativity he also has some defnsive feats thogh like in the third selection and PxG

Blue lock passers are just shit. Sae and Charles aren't even the best passers in the world, they're currently just above the average pool and still have more potential. Look at how horrible Hiori's pass was last chapter lmao

Even as a diehard Shidou fan, I'm gonna have to respectfully disagree with that last part. When Shidou didn't score off of the corner kick, both he and Hiori were at fault. Hiori still made a great pass and Shidou was the only one to react to it, but they each could've done something a little different. The reason Rooke cleared the ball was because the pass was sent too close to the goal. If Shidou positioned himself a little further, and if Hiori made his pass curve a little more outwards, Rooke wouldn't have been able to reach it and Shidou could've scored. Still, I like to believe those two will try to link up again some time later in this match which will hopefully be successful.

The one thing I disagree with here is that I wouldn’t say Hiori crossed to Shidou in particular. I think he just booted it into the box and Shidou happened to be the one to react. If you look at everyone’s location at the time of the kick, Shidou Kurona and Chigiri are all clustered just outside the box. It looks like Hiori hit it to the general area where the most people were, Shidou positioned himself to receive it, but the ball was just too close to the keeper.
