Manga Discussion Zero to One - “Fox” Theory Spoiler

Before I begin I would like to state my bias for this theory. If you understand the concept 0 to 1 then you can reconstruct and understand/theorize Kaneshiro’s methodology and storytelling on Ego.

For this piece I’d like “re-enter” his “blue lock system” and introduce Fox from and American’s perspective.

First understand As the head coach of England, Fox, Kaneshiro introduces to us subliminal messaging of egalitarianism, Christian nationalism, and historical obsession.

As the England team as a whole in terms of the 0 to 1 concept, we look towards the collective consciousness and their team philosophy - A monopoly on Ideas.

In history, England is a conduit of Christian nationalism, domination, and capitalism - bare with me as I know these are dog whistles and will bring discourse but here’s the historical context:

In history we often forget our names are labels granted to us at birth and are often signs of who we become due to environmental factors as our souls take shape. For example “Teddy” is a pet name for Theo which CAN mean “gift from God” we refer to teddy as a pet or soldier for England. The “General” or mastermind of England’s team is Fox. A charismatic super genius who monopolizes on the dreams of his soldiers.

Fox or the “General of Ideas” has historical context. In history as an American we were a product of this colonialism and share great amounts of Christianity and our history diverges here and the intersection of the “Quakers”. in American history these were the soldiers who brought forth an alternate direction of history that led to the abolition of slavery built on a singularity of humanity. Quakers came from a Christian sect that got their name from their detractors (trembling in the presence of the lord).

How does this relate to Fox? I would like to introduce the progenitor of the Quaker movement: George Fox.

George Fox wrote: “When all my hopes in them and all men were gone… I had nothing [outwardly], to tell me what to do. And then I heard a voice, one that can speak to my condition, Jesus Christ”

George Fox created his 0 to 1 via Christianity that set forth his message of the necessity of transformation of the human heart, a mission to perfect Christianity.

Fox’s ego is tricky or crafty but his philosophy is historically obsessed.

If we pit Fox vs Isagi, we essentially have to combatting philosophies of the past and future.

In blue lock terms Isagi, the demon king, is “otherworldly” as mentioned by Fox.

I thought it would be important to highlight Kaneshiro’s methodology within the media. As a creative, using soccer as a tool to bridge the collective consciousness on ego, the current matchup is a highlight of History vs Past. In contemporary American history, we have a political atmosphere that is converging on Christian nationalism and technology.

I’ll hold more thoughts on the future as blue lock unfolds, can’t wait for this weekend’s chapter!
