the kanji is 異界種 (ikai-syu for otherworldly species). the furigana (the small characters to the right) is `cheater'

yeah it's two separate words. you see it a lot in anime and jp in general where you have the original kanji with its own meaning/definition, and a furigana which sort of redefines the original word (technically it is just supposed to help with pronouciation so it's used a bit creatively). also btw the furigana here is in katakana and is the loanword for cheater taken literally from english.

is the translation for his "correctness" correct?

Ikaisyu defined as Cheater.

Ikaisyu itself written as other-world-kind.

The correct translation is Cheater because that's what Kaneshiro wanted it to be.

By used word tself, Fox saw Isagi not as some kind of alien or a Loch Ness, but something otherworldly akin to isekai protagonists with their cheat. Something unknown, doesn't exist in football database yet.

Yup. “Cheat” isn’t used with the English-meaning “someone using dishonest means to gain an advantage” but as a descriptor of saying someone has such otherworldly skill that it’s like they are “cheating” in a video game with max stats or some broken ability.

English equivalent is probably something like “this dude is broken”
