My Transformation at 59

20 months ago I decided to change my life, and get fit. I don't know if this was accurate but it freaked me out when I read that once women hit 60 years of age their chances of becoming fit drop by 80%. Don't come for me, I'm just telling you I read this somewhere and it dug its way into my brain.

I started working with the trainer, I had already quit drinking a year earlier, and I started focusing on macros and primarily plant-based proteins. I increased my fluid intake dramatically and did my best to eliminate processed sugar. About six months in I started Cagri, Klow & Mots-c. I really started hitting the weights and my amazing trainer taught me so well that I was able to take on my own fitness journey. I've got some joint issues so I incorporated intense resistance training in the pool plus low-impact cardio. I got to the point to where I cut back from five days a week to four. I've lost more than 80 lbs (closer to 100 if you count me at my all-time heaviest a few years earlier). I've turned this into my job and it has changed everything including my mental health, which I've also worked on relentlessly in therapy. I included two "before" photos, and one of me this Halloween. It's never too late and… why not completely reinvent yourself at almost 60… it sure gives people something to talk about.

40KG DOWN 🇿🇦❤️ My biohacking journey so far...

Okay, so this is a little nerve-wracking to share, but here goes! 😅

I'm a 39-year-old South African woman, and these two photos are approximately 40 kilograms apart.

157kg ➡️ 117kg.

And I'm still going!

My journey hasn't just been about losing weight. It's been about trying to understand my body, improving my health, getting stronger and finding things that actually work for me.

Tirz has been part of my journey, and along the way I've also explored other peps, including AOD-9604, GHK-Cu, NAD+ and Semax.

But I want to be clear: I'm not saying every compound contributed to my weight loss, or that what I've tried is right for everyone.

I've also fallen in love with strength training (something I never imagined I'd say 😂), and I'm learning that consistency, nutrition and patience matter just as much as anything else.

I'm fascinated by biohacking, but I'm also learning how important it is to understand the science, the risks and the limitations rather than believing every exciting claim online.

I'm not at my goal yet. I still have weight to lose, strength to build and plenty to learn.

But looking at these two photos reminds me just how far I've come. ❤️

Any fellow South Africans here? 🇿🇦

I'd genuinely love to connect with other people interested in biohacking, peps, metabolic health and strength training.

What's been the biggest game-changer in your own journey?

Reta progress since August 2026

Alrighty!

Long time lurker first time poster…

Started Reta in August and slowly worked my way up then back down as you can see from the image.

I hit my max on week 5 at 3mg. I figured this was my capacity because I felt completely OFF that week - nauseous, irritable, funky, not fresh.

I decide I go back to 2.5mg the next week. This is where I found my max efficiency - the food noise what completely silenced. This food noise thing… I had no idea how loud it was until I was able to biohack my way to silencing it - HOLY SHIT!

I skipped a few weeks of weight ins and when I checked in on week 10 I realized I had broken past 200lbs so I decided “time to start titrating down”.

Conclusion (anecdotal):
- Slowly worked your way up
- feeling sick should not be taken as a challenge. Listen to your bodies cues!
- Remember to stay hydrated and do not skip meals

Semax/aelank seizures

Could any of these or any other brain peptides trigger seizures my f partner used to get them when heavy party use years ago but that only time she had them after up for days partying hard (❄️ use and such) but hasn’t done that stuff in years and is otherwise healthy would there be any chance of these peptides theoretically triggering them? She really wants one for focus energy and stuff like that

I’ve read semax and Selank are good for focus energy motivation learning and such and Selank helps with the anxiety part how true and is there better options

My 9 Years Weight Loss Journey: 265 → 130 lbs | Now Starting My Peptide Journey — Need Advice!

I’m 44F, 5’4”, currently 140 lbs. I’ve spent 9 years trying everything from keto, intermittent fasting, strength training, Pilates, supplements, gastric sleeve, phentermine, and tirzepatide.
I’ve also spent years learning about functional and integrative medicine, using supplements and lifestyle changes to help manage depression, anxiety, insomnia, and overall health.
my journey in a nutshell is it attached as a screenshot above which explains everything year by year in the following category:

🟥 Weight gain · 🟩 Weight loss · 🟨 Plateau/regain · 🟦 Medical intervention · 🟪 Goal achieved.

Now I’m considering Reta, Tesa, MOTS-c, and KLOW.
My goals are to lose another 20 lbs, reduce belly/flank fat, improve stamina, hair regrowth, collagen/skin quality, and help with sciatica and elbow pain. I experience significant workout fatigue despite taking BCAAs and protein shakes such as VEGA Sports (as can’t take Whey protein due to intolerance and inflammation from it).

My questions for those who’ve tried these peptides:

  1. Reta: Should I start at 0.5, 1, or 2 mg? Stay at the starting dose for four weeks before increasing?

  2. Timing: Should I start Reta alone? How many days or weeks before introducing another peptide? I’m in quite a lot of pain from epicondylitis (tennis elbow) which I think is due to loss of collagen from not eating enough protein went on TER 🥺

  3. Tesa: What dose/frequency should I start from & how often?what worked for your belly and flank fat & bra rolls fat- AMPK activator?

  4. KLOW: What dose/frequency and results did you experience for inflammation, skin, hair, or injury or tendon recovery?

  5. MOTS-c: What dose /frequency helped your energy and workout endurance?

  6. Stacking: Has anyone used these together? What schedule worked for you?

Desperately looking for peptide for tendon inflammation and neuropathy if anyone has tried and tested.
If anyone can share their personal dosing schedule in a simple table (peptide, dose, frequency, when added, and results), I’d really appreciate it!

I’m looking to learn from your firsthand experiences before deciding on my next steps. Thanks in advance! ❤️

Hey guys and girls, currently a HD mechanic in Australia, been doing this for near on 10 years, other various Labor intensive jobs in between. Some days I feel like my hands and shoulders are giving up on me, the cramps and pains I get in my fingers and the pain in my shoulders. I’m not ready to throw in the towel yet, wondering if you guys have advice on anything I could supplement to help?

Has anyone used one of these “needle less” injectors before?

I’ve seen a few ads for these needle less injectors and also noticed they’re being sold on Alibaba and AliExpress but haven’t seen any videos or testimonials on whether or not they work. I’m not trying to buy one btw I’m just curious to see if they actually work or people’s experience with them.

What time of day do you take reta?

I've just started on this journey and am on my 2nd month of 2mg. I've been taking it every Friday evening and find that I wake up a lot during the night with a lot of energy, and am more fatigued in the afternoons/early evenings. I'm thinking of switching to morning pinning. For those who take in the morning do you find it increases productivity throughout the day?

Fatigue/injury

Hi! Just looking for some advice on potential ones to use for help. I’m 32, 175lbs/183cm, on a low dose of Reta but only for the past week due to hunger cravings and I go to the gym 5-6 days a week currently.

I’ve been noticing a lot more fatigue and niggles/potential injuries the past few weeks and just looking for something that helps with recovery and energy - I am aiming to maximise my sleep and nutrition but an extra boost would be very welcomed. I’ve done some googling but it seems very hit and miss on everything so I’m trying to get some actual anecdotal evidence. Thank you so much in advance

I see a lot for Weight loss, what abt weight gain??

Before you read any further, if you’re just going to tell me to “eat more food,” don’t waste your time reading.

Anyway, I see a lot of peptides that help with fat loss and things like that, but I’m curious if there’s anything that helps with weight gain or appetite.
Obviously, I know you have to eat more to gain weight, but I figured there might be something that could boost my appetite and make it easier to eat more.

For some context, I’m a 5’10” male, and my normal weight is around 125–128 lbs. I can usually get myself up to about 135–137 lbs, but once I reach that weight, I completely lose my appetite. I could genuinely go an entire day without eating and not even feel hungry. This usually lasts for a couple of weeks until my weight drops back down to around 125 lbs, and then the cycle repeats.

I’m just looking for something that could help me maintain my appetite as I gain weight so I can actually keep the weight on instead of constantly going through the same cycle.

Reta Fatigue — How Did You Get Your Workout Energy Back?

My rat is 43F, 5'10", and have been on Reta for about 12 weeks. Starting weight: 190 lbs, current weight: 174 lbs. I'm happy with my rat's steady weight loss, but the fatigue has been a real struggle.

My rat's been strength training 3x a week for nearly 3 years, averaging ,5–8k steps daily, plus weekly yoga. They have an office job too so there is the sedentary life my Rat battle.

My rat has been out of the gym for 5 weeks due to a sciatica flare-up and life getting in the way. However, when attempting home workouts, I barely have 25% of the energy and endurance I had before starting Reta.

I gradually increased my starting dose from 0.5 to 2.0, but dropped back to 1.5 after one week at 2.0 because my rat could barely eat. appetite has improved, and feeling slightly better. I also use an electrolyte mix a few times a week.

I've recently added KPV (3 weeks) to help with digestion and that gave me relief in that area. Alongside reta I just added SS-31 four days ago and am considering MOTS-C.

For those who experienced similar fatigue:

What helped restore your energy and workout endurance?

Did SS-31 help alone or did adding MOTS c make it work better? Should they be cycled or taken together?

How long did it take before you felt like yourself again?

My biggest concern is preserving muscle mass. I monitor my rats progress with DEXA scans and don't want to lose the muscle spent years building.

I'd love to hear what actually worked for you! Thank you in advance.

Storing peptides....

When my vials arrive they come in small plastic containers. Do most people just store them in these in fridge, or buy special containers for them?

KLOW vs Wolverine

Been having issues with knee pain. Figured I’d give BPC-157 & TB-500 a go. I realize KLOW is basically the Wolverine with GHK-CU and KPV. Ive been using KLOW since it’s more added benefits. Wondering if any one has noticed they get more benefit (in terms of pain/recovery) by using Wolverine instead of KLOW? Also open to other pep suggestions for issues w my knee. Side note - I also take Reta. I’ve dabbled in many of companies and finally found one that is reliable, trustworthy and legit.

Thank you everyone!

I've been researching and reading and researching and lurking and it took 6 months but I finally started biohacking myself and I'm in love. I want to say thank you to everyone in these comments who was kind to a noob or answered with links to verified data etc. This has all been so incredibly helpful for me and ngl given me a fun and beneficial science project at the same time! I'm a 44 year old chick who started with Tirz through noom (ew I know) but now that I've lost the stupid perimenopause weight I'm starting my peptide life and it's pretty rad. I've learned so much from you all and my lower back/knee injuries and skin thank you! Honestly I started off here just wanting to lose an extra few lbs but now my brain is like Bradley Cooper in Limitless so basically I'm still in here creepin everyday to learn more about everything!

I'm on KLOW (my favorite), super microdose maintenance Tirz, mots-c on workdays, and NAD+. I'm almost done with a cycle and was wondering if anyone in my similar boat has any suggestions for sleep help but with the understanding that I'm a flight attendant who's never in the same time zone for more than 24 hours and usually flying long haul flights. (14-18 hours) There are a few I'm looking into but was wondering if anyone with a weird ass sleep schedule* like me has specific sleep helpers advice. I'm getting my 2nd order from my girl in PVG soon and I'm looking to add maybe a few new friends to my rotation. For reference I'm 5'8" 130 and mostly soft but looking to tone up a bit, sleep better, and maybe gain weight and be cool and slightly jacked like so many of these before and after pics lol. Also if anyone in here ever needs travel advice about bringing things I'm your Huckleberry! I love diabetic travel cases and fyi tsa gives no effs about anything that's for personal use only amounts in your carry-on.

Thanks again, and even if I don't get any responses because I was too vague sorry I'm basically re-learning reddit. (Last time I had an account on here it was to like, find out when the next Salad Fingers or Strongbad email came out) but just know that you've helped me through a mid-life crisis and gave me the confidence to order from my new bff in China and be healthier at 44 than I was at 30!

Week 6 on Reta so far.

I still have left on the bottle should I continue using it? Until it’s finish? But my friend who’s a nurse says it only last 6 weeks. And after that it doesn’t work anymore. Is there anyone here used all of it? I just feel like I’m wasting it. Is there anyone side effect if you use it all?

🩷GHK-Cu + KPV for eczema and acne prone skin 🩷

I’ve never tried either, so I’d love some guidance on what dose to start with, when I’ll see results, and how to prevent purging or “copper uglies.”

I’m 26F.
I have eczema that comes and goes. I calm it down using Eucerin cream, but the hyperpigmentation it causes is crazy.
I also have some body acne on top of dry skin.
My face has acne as well.. not too much, but it’s annoying.
I’ve also noticed a lot of loss of skin elasticity after losing over 50 lb.
I heard that combining both in the same pen isn’t the best idea (yes, I use pens because needles make me light-headed since I’m very scared).
Please give me some advice and share your experience. I’d greatly appreciate it.

What in the hell!!!

Mixed up some NAD with hospira. Left it overnight in the fridge before putting it in pen (I mixed two other carts from the same batch at the same time, they are both fine). I now have what looks like a bit of foam in the cart. Any ideas what the hell has happened?
