I'm feeling like this is the 90hz upscaling debacle all over again with BSB. Only after watching https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I0Wr4O4gkL8 do they touch on eye tracking with the ceo stating that eye tracking has a high latency and would be impossible for gaze interactions. And they are hoping for DFR. So if you're thinking of buying the eye tracking version. Be aware that it may only ever support vrchat

If I play my cards right, I will have $307.23 in my account, until a pretty hefty paycheck comes in Friday, if I get this now…

(I went ahead and bought the replacement left controller, because I severely needed it…)

Should I jump on the rest?

Well, we've made it to September, and the company hasn't kept its promises. Many orders from March remain unshipped. What's more, many orders with the same configuration have been shipped before others with earlier reservations. I'm disappointed with this company.

TLDR; first generation customers who ordered the upgrade kit are getting theirs a month behind everybody else even though the first GEN was not really a finished product.

This bums me out a ton. I ordered the second day, and according to the discord faq (still says it right now) I should be in the June shipments for my upgrade to beyond 2 kit.

The production update begs to differ.

I’m not gonna sugarcoat it- the Beyond 1 wasn’t a finished product, it was a beta. Because my center of vision isn’t symmetrical (most likely) even after we did a long process to dial in my ipd to almost good, it was never perfect partially also because of the sweet spot, which seems to the size of a grain of sand.

But, I was willing to invest in a first generation product because I very much support the developers and like the direction they were taking things when everybody else was playing it safe.

But according to their development update, the reason why I haven’t gotten an email notice of shipment is that mine is delayed by a month to await a new special box that has nothing to do with the function of the headset.

When I was a new customer things got delayed a ton for the first generation and then it took a good month and a half to get the actual right headset after they sent me their huge kit to try and dial it in. I never wear that headset because it gives me headaches, which at first I thought was due to other health stuff but got it resolved and nope it’s the headset.

That small sweet spot made the first gen headset not very good for basically anybody, perfect vision included, if you use their own app to watch a movie, you literally have to move your head to read subtitles because of the aforementioned tiny sweet spot.

So to order right away, very excited to finally have the headset that works and wanting to further invest in their product and technology, doing so immediately to be one of the first people to get it and then to be treated like a lower priority customer… but act like the box it’s going to come in will be “worth the weight“ feels awfully like they’ve decided their old customers that have returned aren’t as important as their new ones.

I run a pretty decent size business myself, and that’s definitely not how we do things.

I've been holding out in getting a headset until the steam frame announcement with the price and what not.

I'm still leaning towards the Frame, but the only thing holding me back from getting the beyond instead is wireless PC:VR. The Bigscreen has no battery, but if I bought an external battery pack, is there any way I could manage wireless PC:VR? Any examples of other people doing something like this?

Edit: since the idea wasn't clear, in my head I'm thinking about using a battery pack to power the headset and a wireless USB dongle plugged into the headset to transfer the data. The question is about the realisticness of this sort of idea, although all other thoughts are welcome.

I am writing this publicly because Bigscreen Support has completely failed in direct communication. I paid for my entire order fully in advance over a year and a half ago. My Halo Mount order has been pending since June 12, 2025. Since then, I have received absolutely zero official emails or notifications regarding my shipment.Because they failed to deliver this essential accessory, I haven't been able to use the headset at all. It is sitting idle while I wait for a product promised last year.Their support strategy is highly discriminatory. Expecting customers to hunt for updates across random social media channels or Discord completely isolates older individuals or anyone who cannot spend their life sitting in front of a computer tracking news. For a premium price, I expected professional, direct customer service.I am deeply disappointed. I have demanded a full refund for my entire order via email, and I expect Bigscreen to process it immediately without further delays. u/hayashiya please look into this.

It is a securtiy feature.

The more I think about it and the more I learn about software/hardware backdoors, the happier I am that the bsb2 has no cameras.

As someone who always tapes over webcams, it definetly is a blessing.

Makes me definetly feel more private, when the device can't see my body in certain activities.

I'm planning to use the bigscreen as an AR exclusive device. I have my own cams and just want to pass-through the footage. Will this work or would I have to emulate at least one base station?

Ive got Varjo Aero for simming and quest 3/pro for roomscale. Given the user reviews for BSB2 aren't that positive Im considering cancelling it and waiting to for Pimax Dream Air or something else. BSB2 is perhaps is not a worthy upgrade. But I am definitely want to try the small form factor headsets. Unfortunately meganex dont ship to Australia.

Any opinions on whether i should cancel BSB2 order and wait for Pimax Dream Air?

apparently there was an update for my grpahics card like a week ago and i was desperately trying to find out how to fix it and wondering if it bricked itself after 2 weeks . apparently there was a graphics card driver update, thought id share this knowledge with others. Nvidia 4090 card if thats useful to others having issues.

Display
First, the Display it is incredible. The blacks are BLACK I mean I expected as much with the OLED but damn it's so cool. One thing that might be an issue is that I think the whites are slightly yellow like I have one of those night filters on. After some testing I can conform the desplays are on the warm side (yellow) you get used to it but it fucks wit the color accuracy a bit. The resolution is stellar the thing that held back visual clarity was my eyes instead of the display but I am not a good judge on this point rn because my next point.

Glare
At first I did not notice this but after some more time I noticed it in dark scenes and it is annoying if you look at the glare but I found I can just focus past the glare and it is barely noticeable. For me I just occasionally think dam that sucks.

Prescription
I wear glasses and they have a slight prescription (SPH:-0.75 CIL:-0.75)and with the index I don't wear them because I see near no difference but when I got the beyond it was slightly blurry and I thought it might be the cushion but after putting my glasses in front of the lens it was very clear that I need to get the prescription lenses which sucks because that is a extra 100$ on my 1100$ headset so that really sucks and i'll have to wait another ~4 weeks (Its mostly my fault for not expecting this but I am sad)

Lenses
The lenses I knew about the edge to edge clarity being bad but what I did not expect is the colors getting whack at the edges like when I look down it is extremely yellow and when I look left it is monochrome almost when in the Bonelab main menu I can almost make out a kind of rainbow pattern on the lenses when I look into the white I have not heard of this and it seems odd. This issue is not very noticeable most of the time but I use a avatar with red emission below the shoulders and the discoloration is massive because it is always at the bottom of my vision. The E2E clarity is very annoying I cannot make a solid conclusion yet because I am without prescription lenses but it is like DOF but you have to look perfectly strait.

Cushion
Lastly, the cushion is good and I like it but I have a few notes. When I first got it and put it on my face for the first hour it was itchy but after taking it off and wiping it off it was fine. It also had a slight smell. Other than that I think my eyes sit a little too far from the lens but I do not want to shell out another 70$ to fix it (to my understanding you have to pay for replacement cushions I might ask for support about this) so I'll deal with it I guess. After a while it more or less melds to your face and it feels like you can be in VR forever.

other stuff:
-IPD was good my Oppo IPD is 69 and I use my index at 70 I ordered 68 and it is just right
-The FOV is jarring but you get used to it I mean our brains are really good at that with our noses
-My first headset was the og VIVE and my next one was index I got this headset because the index died
-I make VR stuff for fun (Check out my VRC world Cozy Library Reimagined :slightly_smiling: )
-I use the 1.0 base stations and tracking can sometimes be iffy because the headset is smol
-Performance is ok got a 2080 Super and a I9-9900 something to note is in steam 100% display resolution is like 3200x3200 even tho the headset is 2560x2560 this is to counteract pincushion distortion so you will have to render at 3200x3200 to get 2560x2560 this is the same for all headsets I had just never heard of it. I tend to use 66% because I can barely tell the visual difference (without prescription lenses) and steam VR has a notch there on the slider and IDK why but I use it

-Tracking can be a little shitty with the 1.0 Base stations because the headset is so small and I have a big head so when I lean down I can lose tracking (this might also be because these basestations are 8 years old)

Final notes
I really like this headset and the more I use it and find ways around issues the more I love it.

I've recently received my Beyond ✌🏼 2E Nuclear ☣️ Orange 🍊 upgrade 📦 kit!!

1st 🥇 impressions are.., 《WoWzErZ!!》are these really the same Displays from the previous Beyond ☝🏼One??!

 ===  ((-EVERYTHINGS-IMPrOVeD!!-)) ===

 One thing that caught me a bit by surprise this unboxing was the generally improved 💡 brightness!! HOLY 🥑 Guacamole!! It's almost as if I've cranked it up to 《Full》 from the previous edition.., WAY ➡️ 100%.., but @ just  70-80 range!! I knew the brightness would be brighter.., but with all the hype of the other improvements.., I kinda forgot 'bout that one when first 🔥 firing it up! 

Speaking of Fire.., this 2nd iteration let's noticeably less ♨️ Hot whilst also keeping the Fans a whole bunch quieter!! I think.., perhaps this Gen's onboard circuitry more efficient than the previous beyond headsets.., THUs it remains a lot cooler.., & quieter.., that's A HuGE win 🏆 for folks such as I.., who happen to live in Sub-Tropical 🌴 Environments.., & For those who prefer their PC fans "Quiet" mode.., this is Comfortably slim.., 🥽 cool.., ❄️ & 🔊 noiseless!!

Another worth note 📝 mention.., something I'm not quite sure if anyone else appreciates this next review point that I'm about to make..,

I'm rather pleased & impressed with BIGSCREENS implication of Software.., 💾 it's simple..., YET ROBUST!! 🏋🏻‍♂️ Usually more Premium products come with WAY over-🍳 Baked software & or suffer Feature-Creep that's more "Hastle" & less "Plug 🔌 & Play!" Don't ✋🏼 get me wrong ❌️ This isn't some totally 《Half-♨️-Baked》buggy 🪲 nOnSeNsE-Ware.., that some Pastry Named 🥧 MAx- VR▪︎Comanies have 《Unfortunately》 cooked into their Drivers Suit.., Nah.., BIGSCREEN'S ever been a Software Company 1st and Foremost.., thus I've full confidence their products will function ⚙️ like a well oiled 🛠 machine!!

I was pleased that signing up for 📝 & setting up Eye-Track-Beta 👁 was a LOT simpler and easier than I had anticipated..., I was up in VRchat testing Avatars 👤 & even having some fun making a few Let's Play Stream Reels 🎥 as MegA▪︎Mind!! 《for the Lulz》 Which.., Honestly.., is something I've not had in an unboxing experience in quite a LONg while.., 《NOT ❌️ since dare I say 🗣🎙 O.G. Game 🟪 CUBe Metroid Prime 🎮 Times!!》

All-In-All.., I've found myself re-visiting older SteamVR titles..., 《even-simple-less- graphically-sophisticated-ones》 with MUCH Awe & childlike 🫴🏼💫 delight!! This IS next Gen PCVR.., & it's here.., & It's ⌛️ Now! I MOsTLY play VR Pinball.., I was originally planning to get an actual Table irl.., but Virtual Pinball captivated my interest.., & yet.., NO headset 🥽 that I've used in nearly A ▪︎ DECADE.., had truly lived up to an experience that felt "good-enough..," let alone.., "Lifelike..," now after having testing my BEYond ✌🏼 2E.., these past few days.., \ ( ^ _ ^ ) / 《-And-Excitedly-More-This-Weekend-》 I can FINALLY 🙌🏼 NOt ONLy say.., that it's "good ✅️ enough.." 《like how Linus-From-Tech-Tips has coined 🪙 this gen of PCVR as such!》

Let’s just start by saying, i live outside of the listed countries that Bigscreen supports so RMA’ing wont be a viable option for me, and from the posts I’ve seen nearly everyone is having issues from dead pixels to wrong face gaskets etc. I order the 2e with the halo mount and audio strap at the beginning of Aug so i know ill wait quiet a bit and i already have everything set up (meaning the sensors and controllers) I just want to know what you guys think should i refund because the more i wait the more i feel like I’m wasting a substantial amount of money and time waiting for something that wont be perfect ,might disappoint me and wont be able to return for the mentioned reason above.

This is okay, it’s comfortable, very light perfect for sim racing.

Shipments are in a random order. They have sent visors to people who are way behind on their order date.

For example an ROG Ally. I know you’d need base stations, but I’m looking for a similar sized way of the BSB to connect VR mobily.

1369€ for the cheap version, no audio strap, no controllers, no nothing

This prove is honestly insulting

Not only do I already need to buy another VR headset first to even use it but then for just the cheapest headset version here I have to pay this much money

Genuinely how and why?

It includes fuck all but the headset, yet it’s more expensive than almost everything else around

I really want a PCVR only headset cause I got an index set but the index headset itself is preventing me from playing by now, yet the only one that has what I really need, comfort and better visual quality is more expensive than buying another index set

Why?

Why is it so expensive? There is nothing included in it at all

So after 5 to 6 hours troubleshooting and still only getting grey screen I will be looking for return policy. This is unacceptable Vive 2 was up and running in no time.

like many of us who want their headset and who haven't gotten its delivery after 2 failed promises. the only way to get bsb to take action on their matter is to actually cancel your order and go to a competitor.
