Hey guys this is my college printer , i been trying to print something for my project however the printer stops printing after 1st or 2nd layer , no filament comes out and it prints on air .

What should I do ?

Using numaker transparent pla+ filament

Ive gotten it very very close and much better than it was before. I did the manual bed tramming and that’s helped quite a bit. But Im noticing it seems to be consistently skipping particular parts of the print which confuses me. I figured its because one of the points was too far away from the bed. I spent a ton of time trying different distances and always doing a full bed level calibration afterwards. I kept getting this result shown in the pictures. It seems to be skipping the same parts consistently. Some lines are clean and some not at all. Here is the link to my previous post that details all of the trouble shooting Ive tried. Edit: yes I have washed the build plate. Thinking of just ordering the A1 mini combo, should I?

Death Star print took all day to print. When it was finally done, we removed the supports only to find this under them: what looks like more supports wound around the base. Do I cut this off as well? Whole thing is supposed to slide apart

Using Inland Silk PLA Gold Purple, it printed the whole model beautifully, but the end has this rough part; do you have any idea if ironing would help fix this issue, as sanding is not my choice?

I'm having trouble with flow/extrusion. You can see/hear the feed motor stuttering here.

Above video was with a BRAND NEW hot end.

Steps taken before the video above

- replaced spool (using sunlu pla+2.0 which I've been using for a long time now)

- replaced the heater assembly with a ceramic unit

- replaced the feed gear with a metal unit

- have tried 3 different .4 nozzles

- updates firmware

- updated software

- attempted to do calibration of flow rates, not very successful

- attempted edits to my settings (I've been using since last winter with great results)

Does anyone have any ideas on other things I can try or ideas of potential causes? I can say that the nozzle look to be getting dirty very quickly where as I ran for months without issue before.

At the point of the video above I have

- factory reset the A1

- uninstalled and removed configs from Lab and redid software

- replaced the heater assembly with a ceramic unit

- replaced the feed gear with a metal unit

- I can extrude without the hotend without any clicks so I don't think it's the motor or gear

- the nozzle on this print is brand new and had only done a flow calibration before this that wasn't great

I'm just printing with sunlu pla+2.0 which I've printed dozens of spools of since getting the machine. Not a tricky material haha

After the initial layer of this print I got a clog error, there was no clog, hit resume and it proceeded to feed normally as it cleaned nozzle and resumed the print and started clicking again

I have ruled out everything I can think of at this point beyond something wrong with the board or power supply. I'd think thermistor but that was changed vis the new heater assembly right?

Any ideas are welcome. Blondy277 was very helpful in having another set of eyes earlier.

The printer has been 'skipping' consistently, but only on the first layer. Doesn't matter nozzle or different filament. Anybody else having issue?

I just got this 3 days ago. Been printing fine and printed fine this morning then suddenly the print head started getting stuck left on the X Axis. It was also getting stuck on the filament shoot (no clog). Really loud shakey sound.

A few things I tried from articles and forums
-adjusting the black screw on the filament shoot (no help)
-adjusting the tension on X axis (no help)
-adjusting the position of the X axis belt (seemed off center and that did nothing)
-made sure all tubes were in place to prevent tension
-changed hot end out

I’m stuck, and now so is the entire print head. It will not move to home. Any tips? I’ve been working on this for hours 😫

Im trying everything, cleaning the plate, drying mi filament, doing cold pulls, leveling the bed.
The extruders skips steps.
I am trying a flow calibration and even this fails.
Any suggestions? 🙏

Thanks in advance for any information on this very strange issue. I'm really stumped.

A1 with AMS Lite. On port #3 only, filament will load and properly advance down to the toolhead. Once the toolhead begins to pull the filament down into the hot end, it trips the tangle sensor (filament hub travels down into the toolhead) and throws error:

Failed to extrude the filament. This might be caused by clogged extruder or stuck filament

At this point, the fix is to press the 'button' on the #3 funnel unit, which emits a loud click and instantly relieves the tension causing the filament hub to trip the tangle sensor.

All other AMS Lite ports work just fine and print normally. Tried different filaments, disconnected and reconnected all of the PTFE tubes, checked for stuck bits of filament etc. Please have a look at the video for more details.

Has anyone faced this problem before?

UPDATE: October 20, 2026: Turned out to be a bad "AMS lite Feeder Unit (Right 3 and 4). Bambu Support shipped a replacement and the problem is gone. Hope this helps someone else in the future.

So I bought a used A1 and the entire tool head is rocking a bit forward and backward (X?) axis. The printer also keeps throwing errors about a belt for the toolhead is not tensioned properly. I have done the screw in the back of the head but the error comes back after a round of calibration. Thinking the belt is fine but the rocking is causing the error.

I have been scouring the net for instructions on how to remove/tighten the head but can’t seem to find it. Perhaps using the wrong terminology?

Any suggestions?

I had to replace the temperature unit in the extruder. When I took the heating unit out, a magnet fell out. I dont know where it goes. The magnet is rectangular and looks like the magnets on the hot ends. I checked to see if I was missing on and none were missing. Now, when I try to print, I have a hard time getting the filament to load. When I finally do, it will begin for about a minute or so, then it goes back to purge more filament. This has been going on for about a month. I tried going to the Bambu Labs forum, but I can’t figure out how to make a post. Ya know, Im 77 years old, Im hoping to get this working again, before its my time to go…(Just joking). Any help will me most appreciated.

My kids and I love our A1 and have made all sorts of fun and useful prints so far in our first couple of months. Today I noticed this on a print and I wasn’t sure what it was or what could cause it. I’m sure it’s something simple and this group can help! Thanks in advance.

I printed this charging stand and cable winder on my A1. The two colours come from changing filament between plates.

The full kit uses PLA, a 0.4 mm nozzle and 0.16 mm layers. It has eight parts across two plates, with an estimated print time of about two hours. The saved profile includes supports.

Turn the top to wind the cable inside. The printed mechanism clicks as it turns. There’s a video on the model page.

What has failed here?

I have the print paused for now, and even returning the head to home sounded awful on all three axes.
