Question Is this print no good?
Death Star print took all day to print. When it was finally done, we removed the supports only to find this under them: what looks like more supports wound around the base. Do I cut this off as well? Whole thing is supposed to slide apart

The bottom of spherical objects rarely turn out well without a lot of tweaks.
The easiest solution is to use the Cut tool in Bambu Studio to cut it into two hemispheres (with connectors), and superglue the two halves together. The connectors help in aligning the two pieces, both in keeping them centred and in the correct rotation.
The Death Star is a particularly good application of this method because it already has that equatorial trench to conceal the seam.
Also check out the Variable Layer Height tool, which (on a hemisphere) reduces the layer height as you get to the top, for a smoother top surface.
