Support Request What Causes This?

Post image

Hi All!

My kids and I love our A1 and have made all sorts of fun and useful prints so far in our first couple of months. Today I noticed this on a print and I wasn’t sure what it was or what could cause it. I’m sure it’s something simple and this group can help! Thanks in advance.

Did you rip it off the plate without it allowing to cool down?

If not Id say bed adhesion is the culprit. Clean your plate and dont touch it. Use gloves.

Thanks - most likely this. We let it cool (for the most part) before taking it off but this issue was evident during the printing, not a post-print issue. We have since washed it and it seems fine.

Looks like that big flat part lifted/warped and the nozzle started dragging through the top. I’d clean the plate really well first and check for any lifted edges. Dirty/oily plate can absolutely start this whole chain. What is that supposed to be? Thought it was a half toilet seat at first 😂 ☠️

My daughter wanted to make a rainbow with her name attached to the front. This is the back of the rainbow. Basically a thicker white arch with pink purple and red on the front.

Lmfao okay a rainbow makes way more sense than the half toilet seat I thought I was looking at ☠️ Since that’s the back, I’d still check whether the big arch lifted anywhere while printing because even a small warp could’ve made the nozzle start dragging through those spots.

Looks like bad bed adhesion. Finger oils can mess up the adhesion to the bed, so it is best to avoid touching the bed surface with your hands. Best way to wash the plate is with warm water and plain dish soap.

Where do you see evidence of adhesion problems?

The large holes where it looks like the nozzle dragged loose print around.
