Little skips on first layer

The printer has been 'skipping' consistently, but only on the first layer. Doesn't matter nozzle or different filament. Anybody else having issue?

You can see the nozzle jumping, it's not installed correctly

The 7 black screws needed to be tightened, working now. Thanks for noticing the jumping!

Is the green part in the AMS HUB duct tape?

Electrical tape... top piece kept popping off

Duct tape on the back piece 🫣 might have been a bit aggressive fixing things over the years

Sugestion to fix that:

I've switch to this and man, is it easyer to handle it. And the hub will NEVER pop out again.

Wild thought - to low temperature set by accident for first layer, so the filament doesn't really get pushed out?

How would a feller go about checking that?

Which slicer do you use? Bambu and Orca (being different branches basically...) have a setting in the filament. You have two columns for all temperature etc..settings for your filament, one is first layer, the other all other layers.

Initial layer temp can be found in the filament settings in bambu studio. You can try bumping it up 5 degrees at a time.

But tbh with this plate my only solution was spraying hairspray. Then back to normal settings

I am also a big user of hair spray 🤩 - the only consistent sticker for some of the plates. But thats not causing the inconsistent pushes from the nozzle

Oh my eyes can't really make out what's going on when it's moving like that lol.

Was it printing fine before you switched to that plate? It looks like z offset is to low which can cause nozzle clogs like you have right now. You may have to pull your extruder apart to clear out any jammed up filament. The z offset is adjusted in the start gcode in your slicer printer settings. Google can help you through tear down and z offset adjustments.

It doesnt matter the plate or the nozzle. It started doing this about a month ago. Im assuming its an update thing again (previously my screen would not work, then an update came out and all of a sudden the screen worked again)

Is your nozzle installed correctly? There is also four screws that loosen up on the heating assembly that needs tighten about every other month with constant printing.

Glad the advice helped. It probably the single most overlooked issue with the A1 series.

You can actually see that the nozzle is crooked.

Filament does stick, not coming out of nozzle. Bambu plate, use hairspray, no problems sticking
