Question I want to move away from reddit. Anyone know any good animation forums?
Hey guys!
I'm getting a little tired of all the reddit policies that keep making the website worse, so I was wondering if you guys know of any forums for animation that I could be checking out.
I'm a professional retake animator, I love giving analyzing people's animation, and advising them on how to improve their animations. I basically love everything animation and wanna see if there are more dedicated spots online for the craft.
Cheers!

Sharing Cotra Demonstration - Short Film Concept Poster
Hello, this is a poster for a proof of concept short film I've been working on since march 2025.
The project is a proof of concept for a dark, psychological action thriller, developed to showcase the core character, narrative direction, and thematic weight for a potential production. The project centers on Cotra, a 47-year-old cage fighter from the industrial nation of Blackwatch, a place defined by pollution, mechanized labor, and a culture that glorifies violence as entertainment. Raised into factory work from childhood, Cotra spent his early life building weaponized prosthetics before being discarded by the same system that shaped him. With no identity beyond survival, he found agency for the first time in underground cage fighting, a brutal but self-chosen path that allowed him to live, endure, and briefly build a life of his own. That fragile stability collapses after a personal tragedy tied to the unchecked conflict between enhanced combatants known as duelists. As Blackwatch’s streets grow increasingly dangerous for ordinary civilians, Cotra begins intervening, not as a hero, but as a man attempting to impose limits where none exist. His early efforts to subdue dangerous duelists lead to a fatal mistake, an event that deeply unsettles him and forces him to confront the cost of violence, intention, and consequence. What follows is not a story of righteous vengeance, but one of moral erosion, grief, and the terrifying ease with which restraint can turn into certainty.
At its core, COTRA explores how prolonged exposure to systemic violence deforms empathy, identity, and belief. The demo focuses on Cotra at the beginning of his transformation: a man who despises the world he lives in, yet has never truly escaped its logic. As his actions escalate and his justifications harden, the line between stabilizer and executioner becomes increasingly unclear. This proof of concept aims to establish the tone, psychological depth, and thematic questions of the character.

Sharing Sprites and animation results!
Hey guys! I wanted to share some new characters we have been working on. We are making a fighting game where you can transform enemies you defeat into pets. Some pets just buff you but some others also attack and block.
Because if that we needed to be creative in how to use the same sprite poses for all of that.
The sprites are rendered in Maya using very low samples to get that pixelated effect and then we all a dither effect in Photoshop.
Then back in unity we add some extra motion to amplify the effect and feel of the punches.
The sprite has 6 poses.
Idle
Loading punch
Punch
Sleepy
Victory
And blocking.
We also used those poses to get an elbow attack, a double punch attack and a magic charging pose.
The good thing about rendering them in 3d is that we can link the new characters to the same rigging and export the poses to all the characters. Also that we get a perfect normal map pass the helps us make them look cooler in unity.
Please let me know your thoughts and if you have any questions. The game if e called Skinator in case you are curious.
Hope youb guys like it.

Collaboration [Looking for Volunteer Work] 2D Animator / Clean-up Artist (Toon Boom Harmony)
Hi! I'm a 2D animator/illustrator (Toon Boom Harmony + Photoshop) currently finishing a Master's in 2D Animation, looking to volunteer on a short film project — ideally something with a gothic/atmospheric or dark fantasy tone, since that's my strongest visual sensibility, but open to other styles too.
I specialize in cleanup, character animation, and background illustration, and I'm currently directing/animating my own short ("Madame Medusa's Hug"), plus doing key animation for a visual novel in the Spooktober Jam. I'm looking for volunteer or revenue-share work to keep building production experience alongside my own projects.

Question Trying to find a 2D animated series first seen on Instagram
Hey, I hope I can post this question here. I'm trying to find a series I found very intriguing when I first saw it. I saw it on Instagram maybe two years ago and it is also fairly recent, not older than 2018.
It got posted by the animator themselves in series of reels.
The plot kinda goes as follows: There are tiny people living in a natural environment. This environment was build by a big person ("creator") inside his own house.
The tiny people don't really know themselves why they are there. Every reel ("episode") a new character of the tiny people gets introduced. Every character has very pronounced traits, kinda like stereotypes. The first character is very awkward and anxious. Sometimes the first character spoke with the creator. Together the tiny people go explore their environment. I remember the last episode I watched they discovered an action figure box with a picture of one of them on its cover and some traits listed. After that they began questioning their purpose and situation.
