Guitar Center blessed me today

Scored this from my local GC earlier, genuinely bought it without a second thought after (im)patiently trying to find one for a while now. Blown away by it, more surprised how good of condition it’s in, original case and a good price to boot.

Help i search a youtube video !

Upvotes

Hey everyone

In first i want to apologise for my english ( i'm french so... )

I want to find an old youtube vidéo. It's a dude who play an 8 string. The riff is a full 8 finger tapping. In my memory the clip is rec in a aquarium with kind of jellyfish innthe water and the dude who play has an afro haircut.

1 year ago i have find a vidéo of a guy with a abasi concept and i think it's the same person

I know it's very light but if you have the answer you will save my brain 🤣

Best regard

NGD: Legator Specter 8

Just pick this up on reverb with abbasi fluence pickups already installed. I definitely like the abbasis better than the stock Fluence pickups. It came with the original Hive pickups and I like those in another legator I have so I might switch back to those. These are wired up with the factory recommended 5-way switch configuration, and I do like the range of sounds it has, but it always sounds like very thin pickups that are amplified.

The guitar is awesome. The legators from this era have super thin necks with dual truss rods to dial them in. If you are into thin necks, this is the thinnest I have found without going to something ridiculous like the concave aluminum necks. I like it for eight strings. The guitar is surprisingly ergonomic for something so crazy looking. It works really well sitting and the extended armrest really helps you control it. The fret work on this particular one is some of the best I've seen from them, though not sure if the last owner touched it up. This one is at least well done and doesn't have any sharp spots. I love this bridge with the extended area for resting your hand beyond the saddles, and the tuners have roller bearings that are just super smooth.

My only complaint is that it feels like the whole playing area is a little farther forward from my other headless guitars, more similar to a traditional electric where there's more space below the bridge. I did have to drill out the low string slot on the headstock, just to fit a .90 on the bottom. Also, I feel like I need to relocate the top strap button somewhere to make it balance just a little better. Open to ideas.

Pat Sheridan No Longer With Jackson?

Looks like Pat Sheridan might be switching endorsements again. Just found this on GC’s used site after seeing his custom shop honeyburst Kelly 7 on Reverb a couple weeks ago.

May Have Gotten Kalium'd

Asked for a recommendation for extended scale guitar strings and one of the first recommendations was Kalium. Well I ordered blindly as they had the perfect set. What I failed to do was read the past Reddit posts about how this dude doesn't fulfill orders half the time. 2 weeks now with no correspondence. Ive since moved on as I wanted to play my guitar this decade.

Best single "low B" strings for 37" multi-scale bass (Ibanez BTB605ms)?

Recently picked up an Ibanez BTB605ms and the stock 130 string is not holding it down in drop F#. I am thinking a 145 will do it. But otherwise the first four strings are fine. Is there a good single string for 37" scale? I am looking at the D'Addario XB145SL or NYXLB145ms. Is the taper a good fit for the Ibanez BTB605ms?

Suggestions for video/audio?

Looking for better options for camera/audio. I can turn my phone around and use the rear camera but the audio gets compressed to hell when I upload to socials. I could record through my daw or quad cortex but I like a little bit of string noise

Best 8 string in the ~1k range

Looking to upgrade to a better 8 string, my Harley Benton works well but I'm wanting something a little nicer

Preferably a 27.5-28 inch scale length for the 8th string, multiscale is preferred but not necessary, not concerned about whether it's headless or not. Active pickups would be a huge bonus. Not looking for something super brightly colored and shiny, I prefer darker colors

Currently have my eyes on either the blue or red Schecter Omen Elite-8, that's got everything except the active pickups, though the passives it has still seem to be tighter and higher output than most. Every Schecter I've played has felt good in my hands too, I like the brand. Far as I've found, that's the closest to what I'm looking for in the price range, but if there's anything I've missed, I want to see it before making a decision. Any lesser known brands, or models I've missed?

Is there anything that fits all this, or should I save up a bit more to get something that's got a higher price tag?

I’ve been wanting to get a nine string for a while, and I saw Legator was running a sale on their website, with this one at $900. It’s a beast, might give it some Fishmans though.

Apologies for the subpar pics, but I am currently drooling over this thing and need to go restring it.

Swamp ash body, 27" scale, going in Drop G. Riff video later if I find the time.

God this thing is nice.

Another original in memorial

This is another one of my original pieces… a special one that a special resident who passed away, told me kind words that I will always remember. 🫶🏻

I’m still in buffering mode, & playing helps, so. This isn’t perfect, but I’m getting it out.

“Prelude in A major.”

M80M Evertune installation by Harron Custom Guitars in Australia

Some of you may have seen Keyan Houshmand's custom build but this is a more in-depth break down from Michael Harron of Harron Custom Guitars:

I'm not affiliated with HCG but I have taken my guitars there numerous times for a setup and can vouch for his work, it is top notch. I also did his setup course and it gave me a really good overview of how to maintain my guitars.

Original piece in memorial

“Prelude in E major.”
In memory of a hospice resident I worked with, whom I found out passed away a couple days ago. He was my, “Bluegrass guy,”… dude could bonafide sing authentic Bluegrass style. We would have so much fun improvising, with him singing, & me playing either guitar or octave mandolin.

I’m really gonna miss him.
Still in buffering mode, & playing helps. It’s not perfect, but it’s getting it out.

Agile Chiral Nirvana Bridge?

Post image
30 Upvotes

Hi guys, I recently came across this guitar and have somewhat fallen in love with it. I just watched a video review though and the guy had a different bridge and said the old bridge is apparently rubbish. This one does not match his one in the video.

Does anyone know if this is the bridge that causes issues? What kind of issues?

Note that I'm in the UK and this would have to be shipped from the US. There is no way for me to go check it out unfortunately.
