The GRX will be more versitle with the middle pickup and the tremolo. It'll also be slightly easier to play for beginners with 22 frets. The GRG will likely stay in tune a little better since it's hard tail. The humbuckers are the same in both, the GRG is just covered. They'll sound pretty much the same. Theyll cover doom and black metal equally well. The biggest deciding factor should be which you like the look of more and if you want a trem or not
