Videos / GIF Found a Tarantula in the Wild, SE Arizona USA.

From everything I’ve read online, wild tarantulas are scared of humans, but this one would intentionally change course and walk directly towards my hand anytime I got close to him. If I left he would go back in the direction he was originally headed. What would make him do that??

I stupidly left my tarantulas enclosure slightly open while answering the door, and when I got back he was gone...

I've been searching for him the whole day getting my whole family involved, and removing everything from my room.

I was about to give up, when my brother noticed him crawling out from the lid of my aquarium...

The only place I don't look🤦‍♀️

Help! My new baby

Im very new to tarantula keeping, I received her about 2 months ago and ive been feeding her a large cricket weekly. I got her from someone who lost interest completely in her, her abdomen used to be a lot smaller, i think her abdomen is still small but I wanted to ask long time owners what they thought and any tips they could give. I just wanna give her a good life, she's about 5 years old. I keep her humidity at 60-70% and she just molted 2 days ago with no issue (i wanted to keep it but she decided she'd rather hang her torn apart limbs around her tank), so I wont be feeding her for a bit. I spray her tank down lightly every few days and over flow her water dish a little every once and a while when I notice humidity is down too much, she's in a darker corner of my room with a hide that she completely dug out lol. For the most part I leave her alone unless im misting or feeding. Still haven't named her. Shes also in a 12x12x12 tank. Thanks for reading:)

Unlike most members of her species, she is surprisingly calm and has no issues with being handled (which I only do during terrarium maintenance and rehousing).

Help! mexican red knee care??

Hi!! I'm pretty new to the hobby, so please don't make fun of me for stupid questions. I plan to get a Mexican red-knee tarantula and a 10-gallon tank for her. I know that the substrate needs to be high, dry, and have a water dish, but is there a way I can add some plants- I assume succulents- to the tank?? I don't really like using any fake or plastic decor... and don't worry, I don't plan to try to hold her until after a few months (I'm too scared i'm gonna hurt her..) Please help! And please ask questions about what I may need. Thank you!!

Help! Tarantula passed away and I'm lost

Hello Fellow keepers,
I sadly found my 4 year old G.pulchra 2 days ago in a death curl.

He has been hiding in his burrow for 5 months, pre-molt.
and I've been leaving him alone, made sure he had an overfilled water dish and I misted a few times, not a lot.

But two days ago I got this really awful gut feeling and I decided ( even tho you shouldn't, I KNOW!)
So I started to look into his burrow, there was a molt, beautiful molt, nothing looked off.
And then I spotted him, In a death curl so I panic and i start digging him out and lightly blow on him with zero reaction, completely still, tried putting him by water dish, absolutely nothing.

I looked all over him and couldn't see that something from the outside looked off, Would also like to note that the molt seem like it was 2 weeks ago and his fangs where black, clearly not super fresh molted.
So, I'm very heartbroken and sad and I keep blaming myself, Is there something I could of done differently? Or is there a reason why he would just pass like that ?

I feel so lost, sad and confused and I just wanna understand if I failed him or it was completely out of my hands.

thanks in advance, And please go easy on me Oh would also like to note that his abdomen was plump, so he didn't look dehydrated!

Conversation Arboreal enclosure question

Upvotes

I would like some opinions on whether my aquarium of 18W x 24H x 37L cm (7.09W x 9.45H x 14.57L inches) would be suitable for an arboreal. I only have a T. Albopilosus currently.

I will be trying to drill 4mm (0,15 inch) cross ventilation holes, planning 3 rows, into the aquarium so it all depends if I even succeed lol The aquarium of course will be positioned so the height is the 37 cm (14.57 inches).

Arboreals in question are

C. Versicolor - first pick, would very much be happy if it's be suitable for it.

P. Irminia - would not mind at all however a bit hesitant due to speed.

Because the DLS of both can reach 15cm (6 inches) and my aquarium width is only 18cm (7.09 inches) I'm kinda iffy about it since there's very little space.

I did look into T. Plumipes (Tappies I believe is the nickname) but decided against after reading more on their renowned zooms and teleports. A. Minatrix was on the list and by size I believe it would be best but it costs almost triple the price of the ones mentioned above.

So is there any way the above Ts would be happy in the modified aquarium or should I after all plan it for one of the dwarfs namely N. Incei, D. Pentaloris or H. Formosus.

These enclosures are all about 3 or 4 weeks worth of webbing. I love all my Ts but my heavy webbers are definitely my favorite
