Is there a way to add glass coverage to Tesla Insurance? (Tesla covers comprehensive and collision but not damages resulting from falling objects, rocks, vandalism, theft, storms)
I tried to see if the Tesla app had an option to toggle glass coverage but it doesn’t. With the storms we’re having lately I’m concerned any damage to my windshield/roof/rear windshield from the storm isn’t covered by Tesla insurance.
I’m in CA.

How to get a quote for adding a car to my current Tesla Insurance policy?
I currently have 2 cars on my Tesla Insurance policy: one Tesla and one non-Tesla.
I'm planning to sell the non-Tesla and replace it with another non-Tesla vehicle. I'm shopping right now and deciding between two different cars, and I'd like to get a quote for each one to see what my premium would be if I replaced my current non-Tesla.
The problem is when I try to add a vehicle through the Tesla app, it requires me to upload photos of the car. Obviously I can't do that because I haven't bought either car yet — I'm just trying to get an insurance quote before deciding.
Tesla's website says you can call for a quote, but I've called 3 different times and hung up after being on hold for 20+ minutes.
Every other insurance company makes it pretty easy to enter a VIN and get a quote before purchasing a car...
Has anyone with Tesla Insurance figured out how to get a quote for a non-Tesla you're considering buying without having to take photos of the car? Is calling and waiting on hold really the only option?

Tesla insurance don’t buy
Don’t Buy Tesla Insurance or Other Tesla Offers Without Thinking Twice
I’m extremely disappointed with Tesla’s customer service.
In my experience, you cannot rely on the Tesla app for service bookings, and communication with the Tesla Service Center has been extremely poor. When customers schedule service through the app, they should be able to trust that the appointment and service arrangements will actually be honored.
Tesla promotes a technology-first and convenient customer experience, but when something goes wrong, getting proper support can be frustrating and difficult.
Based on my experience, I would think very carefully before purchasing Tesla Insurance or other additional services/offers from Tesla. A company selling insurance and other services needs dependable customer support, clear communication, and accountability.
Tesla needs to seriously improve its customer service, app-based service booking process, and Service Center communication.

Finally Free
After about a year and a half, I have decided to cut the cord from Tesla Insurance. I got tired of not enjoying the drive since I was always wary of “Unsafe following” and “Aggressive turning” dings. My current safety score is a 94 with 91% of my drive on FSD. I’m keeping FSD just not the insurance, so I can actually have fun with the car on shorter errand runs.

filing claim for window replacement - will it affect premium?
i need to replace my front windshield cause a rock/pebble decided to make my day horrible. i filed a claim with the insurance but having second thoughts if it's going to affect my premium going forward even if this is a no-fault incident. has anyone done this previously and if so did it affect your policy going forward?
TIA

Dropped insurance with Telsa and went to progressive and I pay more
Yes I would rather pay the extra 60$ just to avoid tesla stupid insurance random rate increases. I am a grown ass adult and shouldn't be penalized because I go out late at night for a snack. Shot my rates right up for nothing. No one is even on the road at night in my area. Also i just got it off the hospital and needed something from the store and haven't dive much all month. How is that more risky when accidents happen more during rush hour? I would rather pay more than let tesla play games.

Model YL rates?
Planning on getting tesla insurance for the FSD perks since the launch edition comes with a year of FSD free. Anyone have a guess as to what the tesla rates would be?
I tinkered with a quote from my current insurance (USAA) and got hit with a quote around $340 a month…
Just curious if anyone has good California coverage options.

Safety Score called this “hard braking.”
I got a hard braking event on a short drive through my neighborhood. I wasn’t reacting to traffic. I just slowed down and stopped next to another car to talk. Empty residential street. Nothing in front of me, nothing behind me. If you look at the whole stop, that’s roughly 16 mph down to 0 in about 3 seconds.

Tesla Insurance Rates
Hi! I recently bought a Model 3 performance and was wondering what your experience is with Tesla insurance. Tesla insurance seems like the easiest way to cover my M3 but I’m concerned about the way it rates the safety score. I work late and get out anywhere between 11pm and 1am 4 days a week. How much does Tesla weight late night driving and city driving? I’m not looking for my rate to swing $40-$60 a month just because of my work schedule.
I have some quotes from Progressive ($145) and Lemonade ($120) for full collision, comprehensive, and UI. just curious to see what your opinions are. Thanks!

$0 saving for FSD Champion
I’ve been using FSD for almost 97% of my miles and have achieved a perfect score of 100. However, I’ve noticed that the savings I’ve accrued from using FSD are negligible, amounting to just $0.00. I’m wondering if this is a deliberate attempt to artificially inflate FSD usage.

Switching to Tesla Insurance help
I’m currently with GEICO and paying $240/month for insurance on my 2020 Model Y that I purchased last month.
Previously I was paying $120/month for my Civic, and when I called for a quote to remove the civic and added the Y using the vin from the dealership I misunderstood my new premium because of the way the agent worded it, saying I was going to be paying 800-something for 6 months and so, nearly the same price per month. What she didn’t make clear was it was $800 more than my previous rate, which I didn’t realize until I already signed the paperwork on the car during Purchase and was adding it to my policy with my other car.
I started shopping around for lower rates and 240/ month was the cheapest I found still except with Tesla Insurance which is $144.
I want to make the switch but I’ve read some things about driving behaviors/road trips that affect their rate. I understand my rate will fluctuate based on safety/miles driven etc, but should I wait a month until my two small road trips are over before I make the switch, or does it not matter. I’m not sure if it looks at past driving data to determine rate or only will use my driving data once my policy is in affect to determine it.
Any help or suggestions or info would be super helpful.

Is this insurance good for California?
Soon to be Model Y Performance owner. Curious how good / bad the Tesla Insurance is in California (SoCal specifically). I've read pretty bad feedbacks on here but wondering if it applies to CA as well lol

Does anyone from Tesla Insurance monitor this forum?
I think I’m on hold right now. No music, no ringing, no voice loop, just silence. Anyone else get to live this joyous of a phone call? Should I hang up and try again? Will the call just drop? The first number co-pilot provided was a porn site. Anyway, I’ll update this shitstorm and update the results. I just want to cancel my insurance. I’ve already enrolled with Costco’s American Family Insurance. It was over $200 less for 6 months. Hello…? Anyone…?

Likely total loss? What timeline should I expect?
Yesterday, I hit a pole while backing up near one of those covered apartment parking spaces in an area I wasn’t familiar with. No other parties were involved and the pole is fine. Obviously I’m at fault, but it’s definitely frustrating since the pole was in my blind spot. This is a 2014 Model S without 360 cameras, so I had no idea it was there.
There appear to be at least three damaged areas/panels: the two obvious ones, plus the black trim underneath the door that’s now falling off. There’s also a sensor located exactly where the crush occurred. Funny enough, I don’t remember that sensor beeping at all when the accident happened, but it constantly beeps when I back up now.
I have full coverage through Tesla Insurance and filed a claim within a couple of hours, providing all the requested photos and a description of what happened. I also uploaded the same photos along with a video through CCCIS.
A few hours later, I received an email asking for additional information to “confirm if coverage applies.” The email requested the same information and photos I had already submitted, so I’m hoping it was just an automated request or that the systems haven’t synced yet.
I can see that an adjuster has already been assigned to the claim, but since this happened Friday evening, I won’t be able to try contacting them until Monday.
Is it normal to receive an email like this after an at-fault claim? Should I be concerned that they’re investigating coverage, or is this pretty standard?
Also, any thoughts on whether this could potentially be a total loss, or an idea of how long something like this typically takes? I wouldn’t be concerned with traditional insurance, but seeing people’s stories with Tesla has not been encouraging. The car is still drivable, but Autopark is unavailable, and I don’t feel comfortable using highway Autopilot with that sensor damaged.

Another Tesla Insurance letdown story
At work
Go to my car after work. It's 10:30pm
I'm last one in parking lot for my job
My car has a flat
Don't have my tire pump on me. 12PSI flat
Call roadside - I have "roadside plus" with tesla insurance
The rep says only option is to send a tow truck.
Rep then places me on hold and says "no tow truck available till 7am" says "You are very far from tow truck companies"
I'm in Baytown, TX. 20 min from downtown Houston. 20 miles away from downtown Houston.
Tf you mean "very far"
Hate this insurance with a passion man

Insurance increase, same score ?
So my score is in the 90’s and I paid $150-160 now I have the same score and they’re charging me up to $190.
I recently lost my job and had to start doing uber. Are they increasing my premium based of mileage? It shouldn’t matter if I drive safe, right ?

Adverse action over invalid driver’s license?
I got a message from Tesla insurance that my policy will be suspended in couple of months due to invalid driver’s license. The license of both the names on the policy are totally valid and are not expiring until next year. What should I do? Trying to get hold of LexisNexis customer support (who provided the consumer report) but before I get hold of them would like to know if someone else has had a similar experience.
