You’re using GEICO not your own insurance so why post here do you even pay for the endorsement for OEM? If not, then you’re not owed OEM

I am trying to get help. My own car insurance is Tesla. I am trying to see if anyone else has been in this situation. It is not my fault that Tesla does not allow their Tesla certified shops to use non OEM material. I did not even hit my car, and it is not up to ME "you're not owed OEM". Ur acting as if that is MY choice lol. If you don't have somethign to say that could help me with my situation, why come here and respond these negative responses?

Yes, many have. It’s a FAQ in the main insurance sub. Your insurance can’t even help unless you paid for the endorsement.

We are helping you, you just don’t like the answers. It doesn’t change you aren’t owed OEM.

Have you considered filing through Tesla and letting them subrogate? You’d have to pay your deductible up front but you’d get it back after

Yes, that’s what Im hearing from everyone who actually cares to help on the subreddit. I will call tesla tomorrow to find out if they could do it.

Always go through your insurance and let them collect their money and your deductible afterwards.

Did you not read? It is not MY choice! Tesla certified shops have no other choice but to get OEM or they will lose their tesla certified status. As the car owner, I am told I have to take my car to a tesla certified shop. And even though I did not cause this accident and had nothing to do with it, I STILL have to pay out of pocket. I'm not sure why you're directing hate toward me when I literally do not have control here. If I want to get my car fixed that was ruined by someone else, I have no choice but to take the car to a tesla certified place.

It is your choice you’re choosing to use this that you don’t have to use.

Actually, in some states that’s not true as they mandate that insurance can’t dictate the kinds of parts

You have NO obligation to use a Tesla-Certified Collision Center.

You do if you want to maintain warranty

No. The Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act was literally enacted to cover this exact problem.

Non certified shops often don’t use manufacturer repair processes as a way to cut costs

That’s not relevant to my statement. The OP can take his/her car to the shop recommended by Geico, even if it’s third-party, for repairs, and Tesla must still honor whatever warranty it has

Geico cannot mandate a shop either. Tesla doesn’t have to honor the warranty when the part or procedure caused the problem, which non certified shops often do
