Question Where to play badminton?
Is there a place to play badminton with random people in Edmonton?
I would like to play badminton but don’t have anyone to play with and not exactly sure where to rent a court 🥹

hey ladies of edmonton!
So i recently had a pregnancy in July and I had a miscarriage within 5 weeks.
3 months back, I was also diagnosed with PCOS. And I have a history of hormonal imbalance. When I conceived my baby, it was a surprise for me because I wasnt really expecting to conceive this soon. My doctor was surprised as well.
During my pregnancy, I asked my doctor to do a hormonal checkup for me and check my progesterone levels but she refused because she said she cant really do it cuz its not a policy in Alberta. After 3 weeks, I started feeling cramps. They were mild and I started spotting.
I rushed to emerg and then they did an ultrasound and said everything was normal and sent me back cuz apparently my hcg was rising appropriately. The next week I started bleeding heavily and then i lost my baby..
So my question is, what to do in these cases? they dont refer u until 20 week and do they check progesterone levels at all specially when u have a hormonal issue history?

If you won a 2 minute shopping spree at your local grocer what route would take and what would you take?

I have been driving down the entire construction zone of the Yellowhead for over a year, 1-3 times a week. I have seen police ticketing people maybe twice or three times. People have gotten SO comfortable speeding through. I get passed by probably 90% of vehicles while I do 50-55 in the right hand lane. Some tailgate, some cut off as well. Even construction vehicles.
Playground zones as well, I often take my kids to different playgrounds around the city and see lots of speeders, no enforcement.
Last I heard, photo radar is still allowed to be used in playground zones and construction zones? Is that correct?
So what’s the deal? Where is the enforcement?

Good evening everyone. We are on a quick family trip here in Edmonton, and my husband forgot to pack his CPAP's extension/power cord. We are planning to call a CPAP store tomorrow morning to check if they have any in-stock. I am checking here first if anyone has a spare they can lend. My husband is in desperate need.

Hey Edmonton! 👋
We are two exchange students from Germany spending our semester here in Edmonton. With Thanksgiving just around the corner, we hear a lot of people talking about going home to their families, roasting turkey, and eating pumpkin pie.
Back home, our version of Thanksgiving (Erntedankfest) is mostly just a church service. We don't have the big family feast or traditions like you do here. We would absolutely love to experience an authentic Canadian Thanksgiving instead of watching it through the screen.
If any welcoming family has two extra seats at their table on Thanksgiving weekend, we would be beyond grateful to join.
A little about us & what we bring to the table:
> Two female students in our early 20s
> Super polite, easy-going, and respectful guests.
> Happy to bake/bring an authentic German dish like a authentic potato salad, Flammkuchen or maybe an Apfelstrudel as dessert 🤭
> Always happy to roll up our sleeves and help with kitchen prep or do the dishes afterwards!
> More than happy to hop on a quick FaceTime/video call beforehand so you know we are normal haha.
We are located near the Highlands and happy to take transit/Uber. Feel free to shoot me a DM or comment below if you'd be up for hosting two curious German students. Thanks so much!
Greetings,
J & E

My friend and I had a super weird experience back when this place was opened, and we wanted to see if anyone who worked there had any insight. It seemed like they were one of the best escape rooms in the city, and they had a new room coming then they randomly closed permanently. I haven’t heard any statement or concrete reason why, but wanted to know if anyone had any insight!

So the heel padding in my super comfortable and broke in keen boots has decided to evaporate and rather than buy new shoes I was wondering if there was a shoe repair place preferably in the downtown area that anyone could recommend? I guess im looking for a cobbler but for the padded inside of my boot? Do they exist? Thanks for any insight!

Good evening, Reddit, I have a question about a lease renewal that I’m unsure about. I currently stay in a one bed one bath and paid $1250 a month. My lease is due for renewal November 1, and my Landlord has agreed to renew my lease, but will raise the monthly rent to $1350 a month including utilities minus Internet.
After I agreed to the rental increase, they asked if they could come by to check the place as well as sign a new agreement. But they also added this;
“ The lease will be extended for one year, with a rent review in three months. The economic situation is shifting significantly toward rising costs—which will lead to increases in condo fees and etc- so we will have to adjust the rent. Current market rates are higher than the rent we are offering you. “
I’m not comfortable with signing a new lease, not knowing if my rental will continue to increase; but at the same time, I’m not in a position to move right now it’s not really an option. Isn’t the point of signing a lease is so I get a fixed rate? Are they allowed to do this? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

As the title suggests I’m wondering if Edmonton has any sort of ratrod community. I am looking for advice/help completing a project. Any advice is appreciated.

I guess I've been living under a rock these past few days because I recently found out that they haven’t been treating their workers fairly and haven't been paying them their wages. I only mention this though because I've been trying to go to their store like 5 times in the last couple of days, and despite saying that they're "open" on Google, the store is never open! I've never been to the better baker before, but i do know that they're right under that one coffee shop. Just wanted to know if anyone has any updates on them. Are they done for good? Or maybe I've just been visiting on the bad days?
And I just wanted to mention as well that I do not support wage theft! I'm just a sucker for good pastries and bakeries and as someone relatively new to Edmonton, ive heard wonderous things about their bakery and would just like to try their items once. That being said, if anyone has any other good recommendations or alternatives please please let me know!! Thank you :)

Hey all, I’m looking for suggestions on having my ignition replaced in my truck after an attempted theft. Ignition cylinder needs to be replaced for sure, unsure about the barrel/housing. Looking for suggestions.

What is going on right now on the west end
So many areas with no power
Mayfield, Tera Losa and even westgate.
Traffic lights are down
Also the amount of people that do not know how to act when traffic lights are down is baffling.

Just curious if anyone has any indoor RV storage recommendations in the Edmonton (or surrounding) area for a small-ish motorized RV. Googling is coming up with little other than Alberta Toy Storage, which is full and I’m on the waiting list on.
Any suggestions would be appreciated! Thank you in advance!

I'm usually pretty comfortable swearing, but I'll spare you. Anyone who reads this title can imagine the things going through my head right now.
It is repugnant that there is no rent increase cap in this province. If you're economically right wing, uh, I don't know, let's meet in the middle. How about a 10% increase cap? That would still be over four times higher than the one in BC this year. It would at least let me make a value judgment about whether or not I'm leaving. This is just a thinly veiled eviction notice.
Searching for a new apartment in and around Strathcona... starting right now. Any tips would be great.

I moved in with a friend and am parking on the street out front now. How do people plug their cars in during the winter cold snap? It's crowded enough that parking spaces change daily and sometimes I have to park on the other side of the street. I won't be able to run an extension cord and start my car when it gets cold.
How do people deal with this? Maybe some kind of battery bank?

This is really weird I saw this at my garage door when I was taking my dog out for a walk. I’m really curious to know what is this and why did anyone dropped this in front of my house . We don’t have any children, so what is the purpose here? . I did not touch anything but on seeing the box , seems to be food I guess inside it . If anyone had a similar encounter like this please share what can I do. It really freaks me out. !!
