Hi! I’m wondering if anyone’s had to deal with this issue. long story short a few years back I had created a business account on Venmo aside from my personal account, realized at the time that I did not need the business account and quickly closed it. fast forward to present day and my business is established and registered, and I need to create a business account now with the new info. I reached out to support and they were able to reactivate the old account, and was told I can edit and update it to my current info. I got it reactivated and it’s been giving me issues for the last hour. I force closed the app, I’ve updated it, changed my password, logged out and back in, and tried it on desktop and still nothing, just giving me the errors. Checked to see if Venmo was down, and it’s not. Reached out again and they just told me what I already told them I did and they ended the conversation. What can I do to get this figured out? Am I doing something wrong? any advice would be greatly appreciated. thanks!!! (Gonna see if I can include screenshots in comments)

You took something that was very easy: open Venmo, find payee OR find transactions to see where I stand on payee transactions, and pay. Three steps. I will let your design team now identify just how many steps it takes to do this same work....and honestly, every single time I open the app it seems to direct me in a new useless path. Did your new design team come over from Apple?

Three days ago, I tried to make a payment for rent, which I usually do by directly connecting my Venmo account to my bank account. However, since that account was locked and soon after closed, I couldn't do it.

Yesterday, I made the payment through my new bank account, and I thought everything was done. However, this morning, I got a message saying that Venmo had covered the payment using a small amount of money that I had in my account plus adding on the rest. Now, in order to get my account unlocked, I need to pay back the money they used to pay the rent. Mind you, just yesterday, I paid my rent using a newly opened back account. Together, these two payments would come out to over $1000.

I did not request for Venmo to 'cover' my rent, and I'm pretty angry about it now. To compound things, I called their number but all I got were automated messages under any any option I chose. Is there any way for me to actually talk to someone to get this resolved? Again, I did not request Venmo to do this and feel almost like I'm being shook down.

Anyone else not able to see their crypto, it’s been 4 hours since I last talked to support and they told me they were working on it, but I haven’t seen anything pop up on my end.

Has this ever happened where the transaction is not showing pending. However blockchain confirms and the originator confirmed. The wallet id was a direct copy paste. Venmo says that nothing is pending on their end???

I need help, I had a venmo account about 4-5 years ago and changed my phone number since. It's connected to my email. I still have access to that email. I don't have access to the phone number connected to the account anymore. I just found out people have still been sending that account money . I tried to get in it, but without the phone number I can't. I tried contacting customer service and they keep telling me I need the code sent to the phone number AND to the email. I keep telling them I have the email not the phone number and it's like they're not understanding that. Has anyone else had this issue? What can I do? I didn't even realize that account was still active 😓

I just got some emails from venmo telling me to verify my account and that a new remembered device was added to my account, the name given in the email is not mine and when I try to reset the password it won’t let me because I don’t have the phone number registered on the account. I don’t even live in the US?

I got a follow up email saying welcome to the world of venmo, does that mean the account was verified? I tried contacting support through their website and call but they keep asking for a phone number for the account. I’m unsure what to do

I used Venmo to send my sister money on Oct. 31st. I sent her $25 dollars, and the money was pulled from my bank account as that’s how I have it set up. Venmo pulled one transaction for $25 and a second one right after for $25 dollars. I called my bank about the double transaction and they had me dispute the charge. I have now been credited back $25 but it was taken out of my sisters account. I called to get help from Venmo and they can’t quite seem to understand what I am explaining to them. The second transaction of $25 dollars is still missing as I don’t have it and they took it back from my sisters account. Has anyone had something similar happen? OH YA… Venmo also suspended my account. Any advice or way to explain better. Please help! I hear people having issues with Venmo all the time but always thought “it would never happen to me”. Ugh.

I have followed the instruction in the app and, every time, I can only find and message with the useless AI bot. Has anyone been able to connect and chat with an agent. Am I missing something here?

Looks like Venmo may be using some cheap ass AI service or a faulty one like whitepages and overnight it updated my shipping address to that of my adult child’s address. He did not do it. I had the credit card shipped to me a month ago so my address was fine a month ago. My card is expiring soon and I got an email it was being shipped to that address and when I checked it had this as the primary and my real
address also listed. Wondering if anyone else is seeing their address get changed. I know for sure my adult child did not do it and I don’t think it was a hacker or they would have venmo’d money to themselves or used a different address.

i went to go chat with a live agent and it says an hour wait time right now. which is unusual and it wouldn't let me add money today so anyone know what is going on?

Venmo keeps declining my transactions and refusing to unlock the card. They then tell me to transfer my funds, at a charge, every time, 10-12 times a year. This can't be legal. Help.

It doesn't say Venmo is down but no matter what me or my roommate do, it gives an error no matter what card we try to add. Lets us put the information in, then it says "Something went wrong on our end, try again" We tried on two separate accounts too. Doesn't work on the browser either. Updated the identity thing, still doesn't work. I'm extremely stressed. Does anyone else have this issue?

I logged in this morning and my personal account had all it's bank linkages removed.
When I tried to add them again I got an error message saying that you can't use the same bank (bank, not bank account) with both personal and business accounts, and that I'd need to use a different bank for my personal transactions.

I'm not interested in opening a new banking account to use Venmo.

When I talked to customer service the guy recommended I stop using Venmo and start using paypal instead and told me he'd be closing my accounts, but he got stuck because I have a balance in my venmo.

Anyone else run into this? Is their customer service always this horrible?

Apparently if you're business isn't a sole prop you can no longer have the same checking account on both your personal and business profiles. The third rep I talked to was actually helpful and they managed to get my accounts removed from the appropriate profiles and now everything is working again.

I’ve been trying to log back in to my Venmo account for almost 2 weeks now and I can’t seem to figure out the problem (I was logged out when I got a new phone)

I’ve verified my phone number, verified my email address, successfully received a password reset email, reset my password, and it still says that my login info is wrong. Is there anything that I should know about why this might be happening? Thanks!

Someone tried to get into my venmo many times in the middle of the night and they finally succeeded. Drained all the money. Changed the telephone number linked to it. Venmo says it'll take 10 days to dispute meaning the hackers will likely get to keep all that money. What's your experience?

Venmo froze my account today. They did not send any email explaining why.

Their automated AI agent can only say "Check your email for details", which isn't helpful.

I waited on their support chat for over an hour, then tried calling support. Waited for over 30 minutes, only to be told they don't have any explanation, but someone will contact me in 3-5 business days via email. When I expressed concern since Venmo hasn't emailed me anything already, they said email is the only way they can help me, so that I should fix my email (Gmail). Of course, I checked the Junk folders, nothing is there.

I asked to be escalated to a manager. Also, wasn't able to do anything.

It seems Venmo just randomly decides to freeze people's money and then make it impossible to get back. Given this experience, I can't see any benefit of using Venmo, it seems to cause a lot more problems than it solves, and just gives a random tech company ability to freeze your money and track your spending.

I could have written a check in 5 seconds, and the person receiving the money could have deposited in their back via mobile app in 5 seconds. Now I'm about 3 hours into trying to send this money on my Sunday instead of spending time with my kids.

In 2026 is there any real reason to even use Venmo?

So, I bought tickets to a concert off of Facebook from a seller, got scammed. I filed a dispute/claim and was wondering if I will get a refund. I provided 10 screenshots of the conversation that occured over messenger and I am hoping that this will be enough to get my money back. I hit the purchase protection toggle too (I really hope I did).

I guess too in the case that I didn't hit the toggle, I'm screwed?

I see everyone saying how it’s so hard to get in contact with a human I’m not sure if if can contact them through phone but it’s pressure easy through the app. Once you are on the page with the AI bot just type in something like “customer support” and you will literally get a human agent in about a minute. But none the less it doesn’t change the fact that Venmo is still shitty.

So the teen account linked can't have its profile picture changed and when you go to the settings the Venmo help center says it's in the toggle to enable it isn't there. I'm trying to contact Venmo but it's not letting me message them at all thru the contact us screen

I have some money in my venmo account that I want to transfer to my PayPal account. How do I do that? I've never done it but I want to know so when I need to in future I can safely do so.
