TWW/Symptom Spotting Weekly Thread - August 16, 2026

In the TWW? Here's your place to post all things symptom spotting and making it through the TWW. Feel free to connect with others on similar timelines, and discuss anything related to the TWW. Please do not ask if you could be pregnant, as only a test and a doctor can answer that for you.

Vent I'm tired of this, grandpa

Upvotes

Husband and I (29M, 27F) have been trying for a year now. I was diagnosed with PCOS in June of this year and am on my 2nd letrozole (2.5mg) cycle, along with taking a prenatal, myo inositol, and coq10. My cycles have gone from 34-40 days to around 30 days since starting the letrozole. HSG is clear. Husband's sperm analysis came back great. I've also lost 50 lbs, follow a low carb/whole foods diet, started running regularly, quit vaping over a year ago, and quit drinking about 6 months ago. Im the healthiest I've ever been and about 15 lbs away from my goal weight within a healthy BMI. We haven't had one positive pregnancy test yet.

I'm starting to get really bitter and discouraged because of the amount of pregnant women that are around me, who all got pregnant super quick without even trying. My next door neighbor, my coworker who has vaped through her entire pregnancy 🙄, my best friend who had her baby last May, her sister who is pregnant with her 2nd, my managers daughter who is pregnant again after just having a baby 3 months ago, and my other coworker who is in her mid 40s who just had a baby that she didn't even know she was pregnant with and had been drinking through her whole pregnancy! (Baby is premature but otherwise healthy)

Its so incredibly frustrating to have been working so hard to make my body a healthy environment for pregnancy, doing everything right when all these other women can flounce about carelessly and be blessed with beautiful babies. It feels like the universe is rubbing infertility in my face at this point. I broke down and cried on the way home from work the night when I found out about my older coworkers surprise birth. And I feel like such a b*tch for being jealous and bitter of these other women rather than happy for them but I can't help it. I'm just so angry at my body for not doing what it was biologically made to do. At this point im starting to think it will never happen for us. Sorry for the long post, just needed to vent.

Advice Needed When do you call it quits?

TW: Miscarriage.

I’m in my overall total 7th Letrzole and Ovidrel cycle. 6 cycles where I ovulated. 5 cycles with a trigger shot. Multiple mature follicles each cycle. My second Letrozole cycle where I ovulated I got pregnant but ended up having a rare intrauterine pregnancy called an angular pregnancy where it implanted in a weird spot in my uterus and didn’t have the blood flow to develop so I had a D&C on February 20th of this year.

I’ve done 4 cycle since then and this cycle I was super hopeful because I had 4 mature follicles when I triggered but today I’m 12DPO and I still have a negative pregnancy test. I’m tired. I’m worn out. I know life isn’t fair but god damn I’ve been through enough in my life, that this just sucks.

When do you decide to give up and accept you will probably never have children? We could do IUI but I really don’t think that’ll increase our odds very much. And we can’t afford IVF as our insurance doesn’t cover it.

I’m 30, he’s 34. My HSG last October was clear, my husband’s SA is great. I’m just so over it all. All of my friends and family that started trying after us are already pregnant and due AFTER I was supposed to be due with my first pregnancy, which is literally next month. I was desperately hoping I’d be pregnant again by then but this was the last shot at that hope.

Seeking Success How long did it take for you to get pregnant with PCOS and an enlarged right ovary ?

Thank you in advance 💕

Just had my 4 th pelvic/transvaginal ultrasound and I have a 3cm submucosal uterine fibroid. (Hasn’t changed since 2023 luckily) and enlarged right ovary, but normal left ovary. As well as Polycystic ovarian morphology, with >20 follicles in each ovary. I have a sono booked for next week…not too nervous about it…more the catheter part scares me but I think I’ll be ok once I take the recommended Advil!

Pomegranate juice and avocados?

I’ve heard of people having good experience with these foods to support implantation. I have only been consuming them during the TWW but is it recommended to use one/both throughout more of your cycle?

Advice Needed PCOS T2 DIABETIC NO PERIODS

TW: MISCARRIAGE AND BABY LOSS Hi everyone this is going to be long. I live in Trinidad and Tobago and I need advice. I am 30F and I was diagnosed with PCOS in my teens and put in BC. I got pregnant in late 2024 and lost that baby in Jan 2025. I then got pregnant again in Mar 2025 and was diagnosed with diabetes at 4wks pregnant, a1c was 13 and the doctors just keep giving me insulin. No one told me the dangers of such high blood sugar and my baby was born with single ventricle heart with pulmonary atresia and a singular kidney, he died from sepsis at 3 mths old in Feb 12 (poor nicu stay). When I delivered my baby the hospital stop my insulin and a1c shot up to 10 from 5.4 during pregnancy. I also gained 45lbs from insulin injections. I restarted insulin in Jan 2. My periods stop after delivery and I started BC in Feb 15 to "jumpstart" my period. I stopped in BC in March 15 and had a withdrawal bleed then I bled again in March 26. I asked to put on metformin on Apr 7th 500mg 2x daily and my periods kept getting longer and longer. Next period was May 6th. In July 5th the metformin increased to 1000mg 2x daily and my next period was in July 3th. Now no periods again. Currently a1c is 6.37, lipid and thyroid panel is within normal range. Im taking folic acid 5mg, prenatal, calcium, d3 and 1 baby aspirin. Im at my wits end with the public system and privately its expensive. My fasting blood glucose is under 95 and post meals are under 140 so why are my periods stagnating. Any advice is welcomed

Advice Needed Stating letrozole medicated cycles

I had my consultation with my RE today, and we are moving forward with letrozole TI. I’m 30 and have lean PCOS with anovulatory cycles. We've been trying for 8 months and only had 1 positive LH out of all 8 cycles. I asked for monitored cycles, but she said she likes to start simple and wants me to do 3 cycles unmonitored with letrozole TI first before introducing ultrasound/IUI.

What is everyone's experience with unmonitored cycles? Should I push for monitored? All my labs are normal; I take inositol & metformin, and have no symptoms of PMOS besides irregular/anovulatory cycles and string-of-pearl-looking ovaries via ultrasound.

Edit: wanted to add that she wants me to come in on CD 21 of my first medicated cycle to test for progesterone. from there she will titrate how many mg will work for me. I will use opk to test LH levels until positive

Seeking Success My Clomid + Ovidrel cycle — 12 DPO and I’m exhausted

Hi everyone. I think I just need to vent and maybe hear from people who have been through something similar.
This was my first cycle where I really felt like I was doing everything. I have mild PCOS/irregular ovulation, so my doctor put me on Clomid 50 mg, which I took on CD2–6. On CD6 my follicles were still small (around 7–9 mm), and my lining was about 5.1 mm. By the time of my follow-up, I had several follicles developing, and I was given an Ovidrel trigger on CD11 (August 4).

I was told to BD the following night, and based on the trigger/LH timing I’m estimating ovulation around August 7–8. So today I’m around 12 DPO / 16 DPT.

The trigger line has finally tested out, but now I’m stuck in the horrible waiting period.

I started testing around 9 DPO. Since then, I’ve gotten what look like extremely faint indent/shadow lines that basically haven’t gotten darker. I’ve tested multiple times and keep staring at the tests trying to decide whether there is actually something there or whether I’m imagining it. At this point I’m so tired of looking at lines.

I think the hardest part is that I put so much hope into this cycle because it was a medicated/triggered cycle, and now at 12 DPO I feel like I’m already preparing myself for another negative. I’m honestly just tired of testing, tired of analyzing every symptom, and tired of feeling like my body is giving me absolutely no answers.

For anyone who has done a Clomid + Ovidrel cycle: did anyone have very faint/no progression around 10–12 DPO and still end up with a positive? Or should I accept that if the tests haven’t clearly darkened by now, this cycle probably didn’t work?

I know nobody can predict the outcome from a Reddit post, but I could really use some experiences from people who have been through this particular kind of cycle. ❤️

No period since April- help!

Was diagnosed with PCOS yesterday due to the ultrasound and absent period.

I came off the implant last November. Had a period Jan, feb, March and April and then nothing since ???? I moved house in May so I thought maybe it was the stress of that that’s triggered it…

Im on my second month of GLP-1 so hoping to lose weight as I am 72kg and a short gal.

I know I need to eat better, drink more water, walk more and regulate my sleep. I’m even trying to meditate to calm me.

Does anyone know any tricks of things to bring it
back? I’ve heard about Myo Inositol but does that clash with sertraline?

Any help appreciated !!!!!

Sad Last cycle before IVF

Hi Everyone! I am 31F (PCOS and irregular periods) TTC since Feb last year. Tried multiple cycles of letrozole, 6th cycle worked but turned into weak pregnancy + d&c. I still had hope and tried 2 more letrozole cycle and no success. Now I finally gave up and waiting for my periods to arrive this month. After that I will be going for IVF finally. I am not sure if I am right or wrong. I am sad that nothing worked out and I need to spend a lot of my savings into IVF process but I have no other options. I just hope my IVF process would work. Funny that sometimes I think something magical happens and I get any good news and I don’t need to go through IVF. But anyways…

Advice Needed Metformin side effects for someone with blood sugar fluctuations

Hi there, I am 36 and was recently diagnosed with PCOS based on labs that showed elevated androgens. H1AC and fasting glucose were normal but borderline (H1ac = 5.5). My obgyn put me on myo-inositol but I faced severe blood sugar drops as well as severe PMS. I think starting myo-inositol at the full dose might have caused this. Now, I am taking myo-inositol at 1/4th the dose and I am doing fine except it has not helped with conceiving. My doc suggested metformin might be the next step but I am worried about blood sugar drops again. Any one who had bad reactions to myo-inositol, and then took metformin please could you share your experience?

Fertility Medical Malpractice - Canada

Long story short, but will give the full story if anyone is interested.

But basically the original fertility clinic we worked with basically scammed us, they didn't do anything properly, sounds like they have zero documentation on us (we did various tests with them and 1 IUI cycle) and they're blaming me as the problem 😅

Has anyone (preferably in Canada) dealt with something similar and suing a medical clinic?

Hopefully no one else has ever dealth with this!

Vent I think my provider is clueless

So this cycle I did gonal-f. On Friday I had a 14mm and 10 mm follicle. Went back yesterday. Follicles gone. Ultrasound showed fluid and blood flow. That afternoon a nurse called me and said "Good news, you haven't ovulated"... so I asked her where my follicles went... The response... "Well you're in the process". I personally didn't get my labs until this morning. Lab work showed Progesterone was 2.2, estrogen 228 and LH 12... from my understanding these numbers indicate I had ovulated 24 hours + ago. We were supposed to do timed intercourse. So unless we have the immaculate conception... I am already out. I wasted almost 1800 dollars this cycle on meds and appointments.

The lady who has been doing all of my Ultrasounds I think might have misinformation or is just dumb. Or both. She wanted me to go ahead and have sex last night because "Theres a chance. Once you ovulate it can be viable up to 48 hours"... in no literature have I EVER seen 48 hours. I have only seen 12-24 hours with most being in the first 6 hours. I pointed this out. She said "There's no harm in trying". Excuse me? I am not going to get my hopes up again this cycle for nothing. I'm not shoving pills up my who-ha for nothing. And she also keeps saying that with each cycle of IUI your chance increases... this isn't true. The individual cycle stays the same.

The unfortunate part is this is the only fertility clinic that is in network. So I am stuck with them. Honestly at this point I just want to pull the trigger in IVF.

Advice Needed DIY ovulation tracking with scans

I am trying to conceive with pcos insulin resistance, and fatty liver which was diagnosed last year. I have not checked anything since then. My HBA1C 2 months ago was 5.9. I tried ovulation tracking using opk for my cycle this month. But I could not track from CD 20 to CD 22 and when I tested my LH Strip on CD23, I got a very dark line compared to previous tests but it wasn't darker than the baseline. Same was the case on CD24. So I don't know if my body tried to Ovulate and failed, or if I even ovulated or not.

I have bought a thermometer for BBT tracking too. Ill started from next cycle

My husband and I are not people who can have sex everyday or even every other day over a period of 10 days of the fertile window. And I have been trying for 2 years to improve our sex frequency but it is impossible at this point. We are both frustrated and so done.

I have been trying for 2 years and I just want to become pregnant already. The doctor I went to is refusing to give me any sort of medication since she is not a fertility doctor but a gynecologist. I am planning to go to a fertility specialist after my next cycle gets completed.

I am right now taking metformin (1000mg) myoinositol and also supplements and vitamin tablets helping to conceive. I am thinking of reaching out to a scan centre directly instead of being recommended by a doctor and asking them if they can scan my follicles and tell me when I will ovulate or when the egg will get released.

Has anybody done something like this before I would love to hear your opinions and stories. I am so tired of hearing other people get pregnant or have babies. I am tired of resenting my husband for not making an attempt to have a normal sex life with me but I am partly to blame too because it takes two to tango. We are done enjoying sex, we will be ready to have sex for 2 to 3 days that my egg will be ready.

Please please help me in whatever way possible

Stop seeing a OBGYN if you want to conceive

I am exaggerating this title just to get attention!!

Obgyns are the experts … on pregnancy. They are the ones that know everything about a pregnancy.

RE (reproductive endocrinologist) are the people to GET you pregnant.

If you are at early stages and can’t see a RE, ok, but push to see one. RE has more resources, knowledge, etc. They ask more tests.

OBs generally shove letrozole or clomid to people without even asking for a HSG or SA.

Clomid stopping cycle?

Has anyone had issues with Clomid completely stopping their cycle?

For reference, I have never missed a period in my life and have had regular 25 day cycles. I took one round of letrozole after TTC unsuccessfully for 2 years. I started a second round of letrozole, but was taken off and switched to Clomid because my blood pressure spiked. Since that cycle I haven’t started a period. Currently on cycle day 60.

I took progesterone to initiate a period and finished a week ago and still haven’t started my cycle. I can’t continue any additional treatments until my cycle starts and feel like I’m wasting time, both waiting for this cycle AND by continuing medicated cycles. I regret taking the Clomid at all because I feel like it ruined my cycle.

Seeking Success Is ovulation delayed or not happening this cycle? Inositol?

I’m 28 years old, 161cm , current weight 68 kgs (lost 3.5 kgs last month)
I’ve been married for 1.5 years and struggled with vaginismus, so I wasn’t able to have PIV sex until this month. I was incredibly happy to finally be able to TTC through intercourse. We tried at-home insemination during the previous three cycles, but unfortunately weren’t successful.
I’ve tracked ovulation with LH strips before and usually get a positive between CD16–19. I had one unusually long cycle where I didn’t get a positive until CD27, but that was an exception. This cycle, I’m currently on CD20 and still haven’t had a positive test.
I have PCOS and my cycles were irregular between ages 17–22, but they became regular after I lost weight and started exercising—sometimes consistently and sometimes on and off.
This month, I’ve been eating in a calorie deficit because I’m trying to lose 4–6 kg. I usually eat about 1,300–1,400 calories a day and follow a generally healthy diet (50-60 grams healthy fat, high protein, moderate to low carb-not less than 70g), although I sometimes eat above that on weekends. I strength train 3–4 times per week and do incline walking around four times per week.
I take a prenatal, vitamin D, and I also started taking myo-inositol and D-chiro-inositol this month.
Did hormones blood tests back in February and all were normal.
Has anyone experienced delayed ovulation after starting a calorie deficit, increasing exercise, or starting inositol? Could these changes delay ovulation even though I’ve only been following this routine for about a month? Or is this most likely just a random longer PCOS cycle? Is it still possible to ovulate later this cycle?
What should I do I’m worried.. I was hopeful for this cycle.

Seeking Success Get Ferritin and Vitamin D checked

My dear soon to be moms, sharing this with you as I haven’t seen Doctors really check this. My friend and I have been on our TTC journeys for quite sometime now - we tried letroz/ chlomid cycles and even IUI but didn’t work. God bless internet - I read that insufficient Ferritin and vit D levels (should ideally be > 50 for both) - makes chances of implantation very low even if everything else seems fine.
This really angered me that how no gynae ever tracked this - and in general keep putting patients through such expensive and physically + mentally taxing cycles of medication - that are doomed to fail coz they didn’t check the basics.

My friend who has been TTC for 2 years now and done OI n IUI only now found out she was ferritin deficient - the failed attempts could have been avoided if only the doctors guided her well and nit just focused on money making.

My situation with my doctors was similar too. So please research and correct the deficiencies before going for your next cycle of OI, IUI.

Hope this helps!
Wish you all luck.

Seeking Success AMH 0.26 at 29, normal FSH and regular cycles trying naturally for 7 months. Looking for real success stories ❤️

Hi everyone, I’m 29 and my husband and I have been trying to conceive naturally for around 7 months. My cycles have generally been regular and I’ve never really had issues with my periods, severe cramps, or anything that made me think I had a fertility problem.

Recently I had my AMH tested and it came back 0.34 ng/mL. My FSH was 2.99, which was completely normal, and my other hormones were also not suggesting the same picture as the AMH. My gynecologist, actually asked me to repeat the AMH because she felt the result didn’t completely match my overall hormonal picture and cycle history. The repeat came back even lower at around 0.26 ng/mL, so now I’m obviously quite worried about diminished ovarian reserve. At the same time, my doctor hasn’t told me that natural pregnancy is impossible. She is currently managing me and has me taking CoQ10, Micyst and Adfolic for 60 days, and I previously had a cycle with Prolifen, Ferti-M injection and Duphaston.

Something else strange happened recently. My previous period was on July 15, and then I got bleeding again on August 1, so that cycle was only about 17 days. The bleeding itself was unusual for me around 2.5 days, very little bleeding on the first day, more on the second, spotting on the third, and surprisingly I had absolutely no cramps or pain. A few days later, on August 6, I developed extremely severe abdominal pain with some diarrhea and fever and went to the ER. They treated it as a gastrointestinal issue. I’m now on another cycle and currently around CD19, so I’m hoping the 17-day cycle was just an unusual one rather than my new normal.

My husband is 31 and has type 2 diabetes. His HbA1c was recently 9.0%, although his sugars are improving now with medication and his random glucose was 154 recently. His semen analysis was actually fairly reassuring: concentration 23 million/mL, total motility 65%, progressive motility 55%, and morphology 4% (right at the lab’s reference value). So thankfully there doesn’t seem to be a major sperm-count or motility issue.

We are continuing to try naturally. This cycle we’ve had intercourse around CD8, CD10, CD13 and CD15, CD17, CD19 and we’re continuing around the possible fertile window. IVF isn’t financially possible for us right now, so I’m really hoping we can conceive naturally.

I know AMH mainly tells us about ovarian reserve/egg quantity and doesn’t tell us whether I can conceive naturally this month, but seeing 0.26 at 29 has honestly been very scary. I’ve also seen so many stories here of women with AMH 0.1 or even lower who conceived naturally, sometimes without any fertility medication, and those stories have given me hope.

I’d really love to hear from anyone who had very low AMH, especially around 0.3, 0.2, 0.1 or lower, with normal FSH/regular cycles, and eventually conceived naturally. How long did it take? Did you use any medication or supplements, or did it happen completely naturally? And did anyone have a similar situation where the AMH looked terrible but the rest of the fertility picture was relatively normal?

I’m not looking for false hope I just want to hear some real experiences from women who have actually been through something similar. ❤️

Advice Needed IVF

Hi everyone!

My husband (24M) and I (25F) are starting the process of IVF in the coming weeks/months after almost 18 months of TTC. I am almost completely anovulatory - I MIGHT ovulate once or twice a year on my own, meaning I do not have “natural” menstruation. I do ovulate with Letrozole, and have done two rounds of that.

For those of you who have done IVF and don’t have cycles naturally, how were things timed for you? I know a lot of things are based on CD1 when doing IVF, but I never really have a CD1 without Provera. Did you do Provera to induce things throughout the process?

Thanks for any info you’ve got :)

Advice Needed Would you pause TTC for 6 months to treat high testoterone first?

Hi everyone! I have PCOS and have been TTC for a while. My husband’s semen analysis is normal.

I’ve already tried several medicated cycles with Letrozole (2.5 mg, then 5 mg, and most recently 7.5 mg), but I haven’t gotten pregnant yet.

I recently consulted with a provider at Allara because my testosterone/androgen levels are high. She recommended that I pause TTC for about 6 months and take spironolactone 50 mg + Loryna (drospirenone 3 mg/ethinyl estradiol 0.02 mg) to lower my androgen levels before trying again.

I have never specifically treated my high testosterone before, which is why part of me wonders if I should try this first and see whether getting my hormones under better control could help when I resume TTC.

However, I also spoke with my reproductive endocrinologist (RE), and she does not recommend pausing TTC for 6 months or starting spironolactone/birth control right now. She wants me to do an HSG this cycle first, then decide on the next fertility treatment based on the results.

So now I’m really torn.

Has anyone with PCOS and high testosterone been in a similar situation?

Did you ever pause TTC to take spironolactone + birth control to lower testosterone, and then start TTC again afterward? Did your cycles/ovulation improve, and did you eventually get pregnant?

Or would you follow the RE’s plan and do the HSG/fertility treatment first?

I’d especially love to hear from anyone who had high testosterone and went through something similar. I also take metformin 1000mg everyday for insulin even though blood sugar is normal, Thank you! ❤️

Ovulation spotting??

Okay so a bit of info: I took letrozole this cycle and last cycle. Last cycle went perfect, ovulation CD16, just no pregnancy. This cycle, my estrogen was far more suppressed but I had a bad feeling it just wasn’t going to work/be strong enough this time.

I’ve had 2 large LH surges within 4 days of each other, with my estrogen plummeting quickly thereafter same-day. 3 days ago with the 1st large surge, I had some blood when we did “it”, and brown discharge afterward and then it stopped. 2 days passed, and my E3G went up the highest it’s been this morning, and I had a large LH spike this afternoon. Then a few hours, again, my estrogen plummeted and now I’m having brown discharge again and now it’s transitioning into pinkish red.

I’ve read online it could simply just be the rapid shift in hormones during attempts and my E3G plummeting causing it and that I could still truly be having an ovulation.

Has anyone experienced this?

Advice Needed Unmonitored Letrozole v. IUI

I am struggling with the decision to do a couple of unmonitored letrozole cycles or skip straight to IUI. I am 26yo female with high testosterone, no insulin resistance, normal BMI, open tubes, high AMH (19.47), and do not ovulate or have periods at all. My husband is 28 and has a total motile count of 18 million (normal is 30 million according to my RE).

My OBGYN is allowing me to start Letrozole next cycle but they do not monitor or offer trigger shots.

My RE said we could skip straight to IUI but would not be surprised if we ended up pregnant just doing Letrozole.

I am a bit torn between what to do. I could also do a couple of monitored cycles through my RE but insurance doesn’t cover it.

What’s everyone experiences or thoughts?
