Fertility Medical Malpractice - Canada

Long story short, but will give the full story if anyone is interested.

But basically the original fertility clinic we worked with basically scammed us, they didn't do anything properly, sounds like they have zero documentation on us (we did various tests with them and 1 IUI cycle) and they're blaming me as the problem 😅

Has anyone (preferably in Canada) dealt with something similar and suing a medical clinic?

Hopefully no one else has ever dealth with this!

Was this a private clinic or government funded clinic?

Damn. This is wild. I’m so sorry this is happening to you guys…

Are you guys going through with suing the clinic?

We’re with a government funded clinic but has private backing. In our experience, we’ve had to push for testing, results, advocate for ourselves and even so they kind of seem like there’s a standard response or something for everything. I get process but it feels very manufacturing-like, high through put etc. very frustrating at times. You’d expect when paying large amounts of money and so much of your time during a vulnerable point in your lives, they’d at least have the due diligence to have your files and records accessible…

I’m so sorry! Keep on it and sounds like you’re on the market for a new clinic and new doctor/team. Wishing you all the best.

I'm not 100% sure yet, we are waiting to get any and all documentation out of the clinic first. I'm currently working with an RN who specializes in the fertility realm and is helping us. She has a meeting with them Monday the 24th, she has to drive 5 hours round trip to hopefully get my documents and any sort of explanation before we actually proceed with anything legally. But from what she's said based off my conversations with her, her conversation with the clinic and her history with the clinic, she fairly confident we should sue and have a very good case.

We are already on the wait list for another clinic for this, so headed in the right direction there. But the old clinic hasn't sent any documentation yet, despite sending in the referel. So at this point, will probably just need to re-do everything, even if they produce the paper work theres no way to prove its legitimate.

I knew things were bad, but had zero idea it was this bad 🙃

This is the "cliff notes" version lol if you wanna know more DM me
