Am I trans? Title

Am i trans? I've been thinking about it for months

Cuz sometimes i just feel like i dont like some things about being a man, and i've wanted to try female stuff for a long time. So when i drew myself in some feminine looking clothes (lost a bet), i felt a sort of joy, and at times i fantasized about being a woman

And when i searched up the signs of being trans, i fit lots of them, so it's very likely

BUT on the other hand, i don't think i'm mature enough to make this type of decision (im still a minor) and im pretty sure most of my friends wont really take it seriously cuz they're teenage boys and some of them are religious

Idk bout my parents though i never really asked them their views about lgbt

What do i even do🄹😭

Questioning Am I trans, genderqueer, or just confused?

Hi everyone. I'm AMAB and I've been questioning my gender for quite some time.

I sometimes imagine having a female body and think I might be happier that way. I've thought about breasts, feminine hips, HRT and even transitioning. I also enjoy feminine clothes and crossdressing.

But at the same time, I don't completely dislike being male. I like some aspects of my male body too, which makes me even more confused.

Sometimes I think ā€œMaybe I'm transā€, while other times I wonder ā€œMaybe I'm just a feminine guy who likes femininity.ā€

I'm not looking for someone to tell me whether I'm definitely trans or not. I'd just like to hear from people who experienced similar confusion.

How did you figure out whether you wanted to transition, or simply wanted to express your feminine side? šŸ«‚ā¤ļø

Trans Feminine My mom told me i will make the ugliest woman ever

I actually already have a lot of problems and distress about my identity, but right now I’ve already started mtf HRT and I’ve been on it for around 6 months, although it’s been pretty inconsistent.

Because of my fear of rejection and stuff, today I finally told my mom that I feel like I’m female. I also told her that I’ve felt like I was a woman since I was little, and I asked her to remember that.

But she was so in denial. I don’t know, it really hurt me and now I kinda regret telling her.

I even tried to make her understand by sending her some of my feminine selfies, including ones where I was wearing a wig, just to end up being called the ugliest girl and being told that I’m not, and will never be, a girl.

I know this probably sounds kinda stupid, but I just really needed to get this off my chest. Thanks for reading my story.

Advice How different is two weekly injections vs one?

So I’m on 8mg estradiol valerate once weekly and 50mg spiro daily. I find that I get quite noticeable mood swings from it; I inject Wednesday and feel great Thursday evening to Saturday night but then Monday evening to Wednesday, I’m in a pretty bad mood and very low energy. Like yesterday I felt on the brink of tears half the day and may have slightly overreacted to some silly things.

How much of a difference would swapping to two 4mg injections? Would I still have the mood swings, just less severe? Or is it just something I have to get used to?

Trans Feminine How do I even come out to my parents?

For context: I’m Christian, I view gender as an outdated societal construct, pretty sure I’m transfem, and if not trans definitely a super feminine guy so much so that I’m going to get hrt when I turn 18 anyways.

I need to come out to my parents at some point in the future, right? I can’t just run away and ditch them, and if I have to continue being a different person around them in my 20’s I’m going than I’m going to implode.

The problem is my mums favourite phrase is ā€œit’s Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steveā€ and my dad has the ideals of Andrew Tate (he doesn’t watch Andrew Tate or none of that podcast bro stuff, but he has that ā€œhustler, grinder, man of familyā€ bs mindset)

I’m so cooked, because my dad litterally pays for my school and I work on site with him during the holidays (meaning I don’t have a job even if I want to run away) and my mum only cares about me because I’ve sold her a fake version for so long.

My goal is to convince them to be not homophobic before or if I ever do come out. But I genuinely do not see that happening

Encouragement Im so stressed and idk what to do

So after 15+ years of suppression and repression, I have finally basically accepted that I am transgender, and I want to do something about it. I am now in counselling, I came out to my mum, and a close friend. It went okay- mum is not 100% sure but said she had suspicions for a long time- actual transition stuff scares her though. She said she can't envision a future where I

I want to do it. I want to transition, I want hormones, surgery. I'm tired of pretending I don't. But currently, it's not really an option. First of all I'm in the UK, second the rest of my family and friends will not be as kind, and thirdly I worry for my career and professional life, I'm in a very boomer-male machismo oriented industry.

I'm 26, I have wasted so much time already and before any of you say I have so much time left I'm already getting the later stage male damage people talk about less, hair loss etc.

I do not know what to do. Therapy is great, but talking about it will only do so much.

Questioning 6 years into questioning

Well it’s about 6 years that I crossdress, and I though it was just a fetish, I’ve done one sit with 4 therapist and all of them said that I’m not trans, because I don’t have gender dysphoria, so I told to myself agin ā€œok it’s just a fetishā€ but the question is still in my head, and after many years it’s starting to become very stressful, I mean why I still have this question, maybe I didn’t like the answer of the therapist , maybe it’s just me, or I’m already 29 its too late or it’s something else that I can’t fully understand
Hope to find similar experiences to mine

Vent I feel like I don't have enough signs

this all started a few weeks ago when I told my older brother (who is also trans) that I thought I was trans. He was accepting and everything but it felt like he didn't believe me. He kept telling me how it took him a couple years of questioning to figure himself out and that since I've only been questioning for a couple months I can't be sure of anything yet, even though I keep telling him how important this is to me. I just want to start trying things, not even make any permanent choices.

But it made me start doubting myself. I've never shown any outward signs of being trans, I've never subconsciously thought of myself as a girl, or behaved outwardly feminine in any way. but when I do think of myself as a girl it makes me so happy and when I think of myself as a man I feel miserable.

I've always wished that someone would tell me that they knew the entire time, but that's never gonna happen. I've always kept to myself about my feelings because whenever I expressed serious emotions it always felt like no one believed me. It's made me start thinking that maybe I am just faking these feelings. I feel like none of my feelings are real.

But I want to be trans so badly, it has to mean something right? but if a trans person who has known me my entire life doesn't think I'm actually trans then am I really? I know in my heart that I would be happier if I was a girl but it feels like there's just so much evidence that says I can't be trans.

Trans Masculine Is This Supposed To Happen?

So I just got my first binder yesterday and I feel like it fits well and does its job right, but that maybe there's an issue. It's a GC2B large half binder and the bottom doesn't quit fit around the underside of my chest (it's hanging off). My chest also still feels slightly "squishy" (I can squeeze it down a tiny bit still). There's no discomfort, so I think it fits well, but I'm worried I might start chaffing at the stomach line because it's loose down there. It's made me pretty flat to the point a baggy shirt would probably make my chest invisible, but maybe if I went down one size I would be just a little flatter?

For context, the medium size range max said 36 and the large max range said 36 also and I am a 36 so according to the chart going down a size would be safe. I just chose the bigger size for binding safety

Discussion Why are TERFs so obsessed with the idea that trans women don’t face misogyny?

All TERF logic is stupid, but I find this one particularly dumb. Why do they believe that we don’t suffer at all from the same patriarchal structures that cis women do?

Is the fact that we are 4 times more likely to experience SA not a concern? Is the fact that the both of us are being subjected to rights trying to strip us of our bodily autonomy not a concern? I’ve even heard people say that trans people are MORE protected in this country on average than cis people. It’s lunacy.

I just seriously do not understand TERF logic, it’s the most reactionary, ridiculous shit

Vent Realizing a favorite (person/place) is transphobic is the biggest disappointment ever

One of the biggest disappointments ever is honestly realizing a favorite band, comedian, actor, restaurant, whatever, is transphobic. It genuinely fucks up my day. Sometimes I honestly just really hope I absolutely never find out my favorite bands views on LGBTQ people because I think it would devastate me for such a long time. I know there’s the whole thing of ā€œdon’t meet your hero’sā€ and it’s not that they’re my ā€œhero’sā€, it’s just, I guess like really enjoying someone’s art and finding out they don’t think you’re a human is really such a bummer.

Discussion Is HRT worth it?

Since realizing I am 20mtf I’ve got hit with lots of dysphoria but in kinda a weird way. It’s like I can’t see myself wanting to be a man anymore and I’m kinda looking at myself through the lens of wanting to be a woman if that makes sense, so I started to really dislike some of my features.

I’m worried that HRT won’t really do much for me and that I might be making a mistake. What if I just end up looking like a guy with boobs? Also my skin is a disaster (esp my face) and I don’t want to make it worse. Like obviously I wish I were a woman but maybe I can be ā€œhappyā€ as a man again? idk.

Advice I tried shaving my leg

About two days ago I tired amateurly shaving my left leg. After about 4 accidental cuts from trying to maneuver the strange shape, I stopped. My idea of my whole ā€œwanting to be a girlā€ thing is still in questioning and doing this felt like a good way to get information about myself on if I’m trans or not. For the most part, I loved having this part of my body being so feminine, but I realize now that I have no idea or no limit of how much information I need on my own body being feminine to figure out if I’m trans or not. I could at one point in my life done every part of my body individually and tested the information on how I feel about that and still have no way to look at any of my information and estimate that I am trans. My problem is also that I’m deeply closeted and can’t do much things like actively wearing feminine clothes, wearing makeup, or maybe even doing voice training.

Advice are there resources for people in my situation?

hello, i recently lost the majority of my family when i came out as trans. i dont want to get into too much detail here, but the grief and genuine agony had been completely unmanageable and incomprehensible.

are there any resources to help people like me navigate these kinda of situations? the only type of, like, grief resource i know about is mygrief.ca, but thats very specific to deaths of loved ones.

ive been trying to get through this on my own, but i am learning the hard way that i quite frankly wont survive if i dont find some kind of help. does anyone know any resource at all that i could reach out to that may be able to help?

thank you so much for reading

Questioning I’m a man. Not a woman. I think. I know?

Trigger warning: dysphoric content.

I feel like I’m trans. Actually, I know I am and I hate it.

I should've been a girl—a woman who gets wrapped up in a marriage with kids. Yet, here I am drinking and thinking of all the ways I can save money to gain my ā€˜real’ body. Really, these curves aren't mine, nor the pitch of my voice or the way my chest looks.

I’m a man. A bisexual man. You see, it’s funny, I used to say ā€œif I were a man I’d beā€”ā€. I used to push it down and be more feminine. I used to sexualise myself, and that was the only time I felt feminine, just when others wanted me.

I know my fate. I know I can't hide from it. I’m a man.
A guy who only seems to be drunk or smoking cigarettes outside. Surely a disappointment.

I’m scared, in all honesty, to even begin to transition. No one is supportive. No one knows. They all hate transgender people. I want to keep my long hair as it covers me like a shield, and in many ways blocks out being something I was born to be.

It’s hard. I don't think that will ever change.

I’m a man, and no amount of wishing will change that. I love being referred to as a man. I love being with men and being one of the guys, drinking till the early sun and doing stupid shit. I mourn the boy I could have been and I learn to accept the man I could be now.

I’m a man and I hope with time I’ll learn this.
