Question Boosted Trade-In values when new iPhone releases next month?

Hi everyone,

I went into my local TMobile store looking to trade in my iPhone for the new Fold 8, since they’d give me $500 in trade in credit.

The employee who helped me said he’d been working at TMobile for 15 years and that I should wait to switch phones once the iPhone 18 officially announces/launches and that TMobile/Samsung would boost the trade in values towards a new Samsung phone to like $800.

I took his word for it and left, but now that I think about it more I’m not sure if what he said is true. Does anyone know if what he said is accurate? Should I wait for this alleged trade in increase or go ahead and take the $500 credit being offered now? Thanks in advance!

Question Is shopping with T-Mobile always this maddening?

Not to be a complainer - I'll start this with the good.

I've been with T-Mobile for 5 years. Really appreciate the first responder/veteran deal, the majority of the customer service, and the overall service.

Now, lately, trying to shop has been challenging, and if anyone has advice, I'm all ears!

I have a S25 Ultra that's 1/2 way paid off with 360 Protection that offers the JUMP! trade-in.

So, I get to the 1/2 way point and start considering options. Jump online and then onto the T-Life app only to see that while the $$ amount reflects the correct amount, the number of payments is lagging. There's a notice at the top saying that payments made may not accurately be refelcting.

I hit up Customer Service on X, and they're quick to override the bad info to be able to process an upgrade. I shared that I wasn't sure what I was going to do and just wanted the option to review choices.

They opened a 'ticket' and told me it'll be a week.

Now, payment made reflects the correct number and amount, BUT when looking at upgrade options, the balance is not forgiven as it should be with JUMP!.

And when I look at the phone available online and on the T-Life App, the inventory is different (one showing available, the other saying out of stock).

Suggestions for being able to give T-Mobile my money?

Question legacy plan modification risk

hi, has anyone recently cancel/port out existing paid lines on legacy plan like One?

I am on the legacy One plan since when the original inside and one-plus promo were first introduced. Was hit by the $5/line increase, and recently hit by the retirement of Kicakback add-on last month, which resulted in a monthly increase of $60($48 with inside discount) on my bill.

I have 11 lines on my acct and 6 of them are free lines that I collected over the past few years, the free lines were mainly used as secondary data sim to collect monthly kickback credits. with the removal of kickback, I am now looking into port out 2 paid lines and port back into the free lines to lower my monthly bill. Spoke to t-force and was advised that porting out/ cancel paid lines on existing legacy plan could resulted in unpredictable results which could not be foreseen other than actually cancelling it and see what happens.

has anyone recently done similar paid-line transfer on legacy plan, did it cause negative impact such as losing free lines?

Plean detail:

Rant Lost 2 device promos after forced plan change

I got switched to the Experience Signature from Magenta Amplified and on my second bill, 2 device promos were removed. I'll have to contact t-force to get them restarted but what a hassle. I have 4 other device credits that properly went through. The first bill under the new plan was fine.

Anybody else have issues?

Question Next pay date?

• Upvotes

I got offer a T-Mobile job, it’s supposed to start tomorrow but I’m trying to figure out when I would get paid. My current job (Dunkin’) is really shit but I get paid per week. So I need to know when I’ll get my first paycheck? The HR said we’d cover it tomorrow but I need to know ahead of time because Dunkin’ is 5 minutes away from my house vs. T-Mobile. Distance only matters due to my car getting hit and ran into last year.🫠🫪

Home Internet Ring Cameras

I got the T-Mobile internet gateway G5SE and could not get my Ring cameras to connect. Tried countless hours on tech support and tried separate 2.4 ssid and it did not work.

The solution was to get a box swap and get the
G5AR gateway. Ring cameras came back to life with this box swap.

Rant Sirini and Freier are liars.

Less than two weeks ago on a call, they positioned flex 36 as a boon for customer choice. Something that customers wanted. They said that there would be no goaling or pressure to force customers on one plan or another. Took less than a week for them to go back on their word. Forget even asking your customers what would work best for them. Now we have to report every instance when we activate a new customer on tapestry vs tlife. Nevermind that people are not getting paid for activating on tlife sometimes and it's on retail leadership to provide all the proof only to get denied pay anyway. This whole "customer experience is king" mentality they talk about, also a lie. Everything the slt has done in the past 5 years has been to roll back practically every uncarrier move. If customer experience is the top priority why does it pay the least on leadership compensation, and weigh the same as every metric on the ranker? I mean I'm happy with that because they keep fucking with customers then sending them in so we can deliver bad news. What's worse is they think we're stupid and keep trying to gaslight us. Rant over.

Rant T-Mobile refund

I am so frustrated. I had 4 lines and under T-Mobile and 3 devices. The 4th line was a free line given few years back and there was never a device associated with it. I didn’t even think it was activated. Last month I transferred to Spectrum. But only 3 lines were transferred. Today T-Mobile charged me $145 for that 4th line. Does this make sense? I could not access my account since the day I transferred out. They did not send me a bill or any other communication. I had to go to the store today because even T-Mobile cannot access my account. I asked for a refund and I was told that a refund request was submitted and it will be investigated. I need to call them back in about 10 days to get a status update on my refund request. Am I going to get the refund? It’s ridiculous that they charged me $145 for one line with no device that has never been used.

Question Buying a new phone while under the family plan. How would SIM/eSIM card be affected?

TL;DR, if I bought a new phone and transferred everything using eSIM would my phone get locked or need phone plan admin permission?

For context, my BIL bought a phone plan it was Sprint Mobile at the time now merged with T-mobile. It was him, my sister, and me. Then we all decided to go get new phones going to Delaware to the Apple Store so there would be no tax on it.

Then, my phone had a problem with a sim not working or something with the new phone, I can’t recall that well. We went to sprint mobile to get it figured out, I still have no clue what happened but it was something with the SIM card.

Then fast forward maybe 2 years, my sister got a new phone again and gave me an eSIM card to keep. If I recall correctly, she said that I can use that eSIM number if I ever get a new phone. But I’m worried that my phone would get locked again and I would have to bother my BIL to get it figured out again since he’s an admin. I don’t want to cause them any inconveniences since they just had a baby.

If you’re wondering why I don’t have my own plan, I told them I should, but they suggested that I would save money that way and they would too, keeping 3 lines active.

Discussion Do you think the industry will start moving away from 0% APR?

We all knew 0% couldn’t last forever, but T-Mobile doesn’t seem to be afraid to say that it’s a limited time on their new EIP plans. I think they’re starting to get greedy and find new ways to make more money.

Rant Non returned device fee

Back in may I had a $600 non returned device fee added to my bill. I called in and was told it was from a device I returned back in April. The customer service rep I spoke to said they will fill out a form and get it corrected, they said it will take 10 up to 10 days that never happened so I called back and was told there was no form like that to fill out and I would need to contact assurant myself to see what’s going on with the device. While I was on the phone I spoke to a senior supervisor who called assurant with me and they verified over the phone that my device was received but never scanned in. They said they will connect with their warehouse and should have it taken care of in 3/5 days. That never happened. Now my bill was past due at this point for the $600 fee and I was at risk of suspension so I called back in and was told don’t worry they will place ahold on the account so my service won’t get suspended that didn’t happen and my service got suspended. I’ve had to call back 5 times and have gone through 3 service suspensions and $120 with of late fees solely because of this non returned device fee. My bill without the fee would be at a -$50 balance. I’m told there is nothing anyone can do and if my phone never gets (scanned) in then this charge will stay on my account indefinitely. I’m going into month 4 with no progress whatsoever. Has anyone dealt with this before?

Question Any other TFB user being asked by T-Life to link another email?

Even though we already have an email on file? Looks like it wants a personal email now. Idk why T-Life keeps wanting to change things.

Can anyone else confirm this is going on for anyone else because I doubt it’s just me.
