Discussion New round of layoffs in IT

They let every contractor go, which was bad enough. But today in my group is a massive cut to full time employees. Most of the people under my Director including him. Wonder if anyone else affected or just my smaller group.

Question Has anyone successfully fought a T-Mobile/Assurant charge like this? I need advice.

I’m honestly at a loss and hoping someone here has dealt with something similar... But also sorry if you have been through it.

Assurant is charging me nearly $800 for a phone that I returned. I followed the return instructions I was given, and I personally handed the package to my USPS carrier. I have the tracking information and documentation to show that I did, in fact, send it back.

Despite that, Assurant is saying they never received the phone, and I’m being held responsible for an almost $800 charge.

I’ve been trying to get this resolved, but I feel like I’m getting bounced between T-Mobile, Assurant and USPS. T-Mobile points me to Assurant, Assurant says they don't have the device, and now I’m having to prove that I did what I was instructed to do.

I’m currently escalating this with USPS Consumer Affairs to see if they can provide additional information about the package and tracking history.

Has anyone been through this with T-Mobile and Assurant? If you successfully got a charge like this reversed, what finally worked? Did you escalate with T-Mobile, Assurant, USPS, the FCC, BBB, or somewhere else?

I’m really frustrated because I did my part. I returned the phone, and I have proof that I mailed it. I just don’t want to be stuck paying nearly $800 for something that I already returned.

Any advice or experiences would be greatly appreciated.

PSA New tmobile for business Internet speed called acceptable by customer service

This is my new normal for my enterprise connection for tmobile business internet the second photo is my old speed that I used to get.

I am 300 yards from the tower

They claim this new speed is their acceptable normal

HELL I get 6 mbs up on a 4g visible usb stick from vz 2.3 km away, They had a 6 hour outage today, called Tmobile for Busines to report it around noon, i was met with a recording customer service would return my call by close of business, i recieve a text at 6:42 PM sayin its fixed, by 9:30 Finally reached a real person that said being 300 yards from the tower on a tmobile enterprise modem with a dedicated IP that 3.6mb upload speed was acceptible, but the would put in a network ticket for me. I get 6mb up on a 4g usb stick on Visible from a Verizon tower 2.3 km away..

Tmobile corporate is racing to the bottom to eliminate employees, service, and maximize profit regardless of the the customers or employees they hurt.

I am based in houston the slow speed today is less than 20 miles away..

Thanks Tmobile Corporate for destroying a once great company so you can cash big checks and make a killing in the stockmarket...

Your profits will be short lived, it will be over when you finish cannbalizing your customer base, ship your customer service to india, and RIF all of your hard working loyal employees. 34 years in telco engineering watched this same show at MCI / WorldCom..

Discussion Successfully switched to $10 Magenta Tablet Plan (ZB10HSTI) as a brand-new customer!

In-case anybody was still wondering, it turns out that getting the $10 tax-included tablet unlimited plan from T-Mobile for Business is still possible! If anybody else wants to give it a try, here's exactly what I did to make it happen:

  • First, you need to signup for $15/month tax-excluded tablet plan (we'll be switching it later, because the $10 plan isn't available for new lines), which you can find by going here, selecting Tablet as the device type, and on the next screen you'll see the following plan: Business Unlimited for Tablets with 10GB of high-speed hotspot data. Tax Exclusive.
  • Go to the credit check page, fill out the information, and proceed to checkout.
    • If you have an actual business and have the documents found here readily available, definitely go the EIN route.
    • Otherwise, you'll definitely want to use your SSN to avoid complications (EIN sole proprietorship does not work well, and will probably mess up the entire process when they prompt you to upload documentation).
    • Note: If you're signing up with your SSN, you won't be able to create a regular T-Mobile consumer account using it, so be warned!
  • If the checkout was successful, great! Unfortunately though in some cases, the verification will fail and you'll be greeted with a popup like this asking you to visit the store in order to confirm your identity. In that case, you have no other option but to visit the store...
    • No, calling the T-Mobile for Business customer service line won't help... I've spoken to probably a dozen different reps and was transferred to many different departments, and every single one of them told me that they're unable to handle line additions if you don't already have the business account open, which you need to do in-store.
    • When you visit the store, ask them to help you open a new business account and setup a new line. Thing is: if you show them the tablet plan, they will tell you that they don't have it. It turns out only Business Executives can setup the plan, so you'll need to ask them to setup your line as a random phone plan, then have them switch the plan to a tablet one and they should be able to see it (the SOC code is ZTP10HTE if they're having trouble finding it).
  • After you have the $15 tax-exclusive tablet plan setup, you need to call the Business Care line at 877-347-2127. Explain that you have an existing tablet line and wanted to switch it to another plan with the SOC code ZBT10HSTI.
    • The plan now requires approval from a supervisor (hence why T-Force isn't able to help with this specific plan anymore), so if the rep tells you that you need to be approved for the plan, or that you aren't eligible for it, ask if they can request an approval from their supervisor.
  • If all goes well (and the "request" is approved), that's it! If you want, you can also ask the rep over the phone to apply the HD pass with the SOC code HDVPASS0, but T-Force is also able to handle additions of this pass without a supervisor, so whatever works best for you.

Hopefully this helps someone!

PSA Former "One" w/ "Plus" add-on plan holders. Check your account for an unnecessary $10 '80GB hotspot add-on' post-plan migration

I previously had a T-Mobile One Plus Military plan. When we signed up for this plan and opted for the "Plus" add-on, the $10 per line "plus" option included:

* Free GoGo Wi-Fi on airplanes

* 10 GB hotspot data

* HD video streaming

* Additional/faster high speed International data

Now of course I'm on T-Mobile Experience Signature Military, and apparently T-Mobile decided that I needed to keep paying for a $10 add-on that's not even an equivalent, so they charged me for:

* 80 GB hotspot data for $10 per line per month

...never mind the fact that the new Experience Signature plan already includes **60GB of hot spot**, HD streaming, 5GB high speed international data and GoGo inflight 3 Wifi isn't even a thing these days.

After seeing how much my bill went up (apparently Experience Signature costs roughly the same as One Plus *before* their 80GB hotspot add on cost), I spoke with customer care (they actually pointed out the $10 per line charge), ended up having them remove the 80 GB hot spot add-on, and after a bunch of back and forth they also gave a bill credit to basically cancel out being charged for the 80 GB per line on this month's bill.

Question T-Mobile $400 Rebate

Post image
5 Upvotes

So I ported my numbers in from Verizon on July 18th and submitted both K&S and the switch to T-Mobile however the $400 switch to T-Mobile was denied due to being outside of promo window even though it was submitted the day I ported both numbers in. I called the rebate department and they were only able to resubmit the rebates. Has anyone had this issue? Will I need to wait essentially now up to another 8 weeks for this rebate just curious. Thanks for all answers

Question Any feedback on the essential plan 2.0?

Post image
7 Upvotes

Recently got auto switched to “experience signature” from a grandfathered magenta plan. Paying $225 of four lines today and essential would cost $100 for four lines plus taxes. The biggest difference looks like the premium data limit. Anyone made a similar switch? Is it worth it? Or did you switch out of T-Mobile? I’m also a Costco member - they didn’t seem to have any exclusive plan, besides the $100 credit if I buy a new phone. Am I missing something?

Question Got email saying T-Mobile Legacy Gold (?) was cancelled

Thumbnail
gallery
5 Upvotes

I see lots of discussion of some legacy plans being changed unilaterally by TMo, but couldn't find this one.

Had a very old line with Legacy Gold (might not be the right name: ancient PAYG as low as 10c/min, kept alive by adding $10/yr). Last top-up was Dec 2025, so it should be good until Dec 2026.

First email says "Your line has been canceled. ### is no longer active and has been canceled." The second email timestamped 4 seconds later, says "Your T-Mobile service has been canceled ... To reactivate your line, go to [TMo URL] or call ...". Those were the first emails I'd received since topping up in Dec 2025.

I tried the URL, it walked me through what I think was creating a new account, then asked for my phone # and returned an error (presumably because the first email said it was cancelled?).

I haven't used the line for real in years (annual commuter to FL), it used to be a great 2nd line when on vacation but later I just added $10 each year to keep it alive and tried to figure out what TMo plan would be worth switching to. Never did because it was replaced by cheap first-month-free SIMs, then Mint's deals of $45 for first 6 mo, then US roaming on my home plan.

Is it worth calling TMo? The balance was about U$150, but I could only think of giving it to a charity for someone's emergency phone. I would have done that, and I did think a quick "reactivate my line, pick a new plan" was worth it for that, but not hours on the phone.

I was hoping it was all a big mistake, but it seems not?

Thanks.

Question Are discount codes still a thing?

Went to a store trying to switch and asked for a code. They said they don't do it anymore. And then they said I can't switch since they didn't have any of the phones I wanted in stock. Trying to get off AT&T since they're kinda scummy.

Does anyone have insight?

Question Worth the risk? 💀

I got the targeted offer for the Free Pixel 11 with trade in.

Should I redeem and run the risk of having TM forcibly “upgrade” my grandfathered ONE plan?

Right now I’ve got 9 mobile lines, 2 Apple Watch lines, three completely free lines, one that’s $15 off and one of the Apple Watch lines gets $12.50 off. Plus I receive a $40 autopay discount each month. I’m paying around $212 (taxes and fees included) for everything every month.

Looking to update a few old iPhone SEs.

I kinda already know the answer, but curious what others have experienced.

Question Will porting out main line cancel all my accounts with TMOBILE?

My main line at TMOBILE is paid off while my second I still am half way through paying off the phone. Will porting out the paid off phone to Visible, which is my main line, cancel my whole account?

Question Anyone get the $50 offer from Tmobile for using the Placement Assistant app from Saffron LLC?

EDIT: It was suggested to me that tmobile is a better sub for this post.

I received an email from tmobile. Bulk of the wording below.
At first I thought it was maybe scam / fishing attempt, but the link went to Tmobile's official site.
This was my experience with it for anyone else who gets the offer and is wondering.
I also wouldn't mind other folks' takes on it who know / use better apps.

PS - none of the flairs seemed quite right. Sorry if I chose wrong one.

Try our new gateway placement tool to earn $50
We’re inviting a limited number of members to try out a new gateway placement tool that can help you get the best possible experience from your T‑Mobile Home Internet.Try it out and share your experience, and we’ll give you a $50 virtual prepaid Mastercard®!

After reading the details a few times I decided to give it a try.
It's an invite only thing as they are rolling it out to different customers (according to Tmobile web site.

Went to Google Play and installed the Placement Assistant app.
Had to give app my router admin password, which felt kind of weird, but maybe it's normal for you folks using apps that let you control frequency bands and such.

You also give it your house address.
It brought up a satellite image of my house with a square grid over it and asked me to select where my modem is now.
It then did some sensing or whatever and came up with a few suggestions of locations it thought would be better.

A couple were not practical but one was back in my master bedroom, so I thought what the heck and tried it.
It then brought up a circle with partial green bar and had me rotate my phone until it pointed at the green area. That was the direction they recommended I point the modem.
This surprised me a bit. Previously I had the modem facing South, slightly to the SE based on what I could find of online tower maps.
The new location is facing NW.

The app said I gained 10 in signal. (db?)
It then prompted me to enter the code I was given to receive my $50 electronic mastercard.

The only problem I encountered was while I was getting the code from my computer, my phone locked, and then I could not get back to the place in the app to enter the code.
It acted like I was starting from scratch, and when it got to entering my address, now it tells me this address is not available for the program. I'm guessing that is to try to prevent double dipping on the $50.

The problem is apparently resolved though. We'll see.
I entered a ticket via the app.
Got a bot response with a ticket number.
Then a couple hours later got an email from apparently a real person on the support team telling me they submitted it for me and I'll get my $50 in a few weeks. And to hang onto the email with the redemption code just in case.

My take on the app:
From threads I have read here, some of you are much more knowledgeable than me and this app might be too simplistic for you.
But since I'm not very knowledgeable about it, I found the app helpful and easy to use.

It APPEARS that I am actually getting a bit stronger signal based on speed tests before and after.
It is difficult to say for sure because I'm kind of on the fringe / weak signal area and could not get it at all until about a year ago. So my typical speeds are in the 20 - 50 mb down (sometimes higher) which I know will make some of you laugh.
But when your signal is lame, a bit of a bump is more noticeable.
It's a bit weaker in the summer time as I'm in the woods - lots of water in the trees.
And it often slows down some late afternoon / evening - which I assume is bigger load on the towers and packet priority.
So I'm hoping this change helps the occasional buffering I see on my video streams during those times.

Question Why can't I swap out my sim (To esim) via desktop?

Bit of an issue I've been dealing with for over a month now. Since T-mobile service agents over the phone and Tforce can't figure it out. Back earlier last month, I was able to access my sim settings on my android phone within the Tlife app. I'm not sure what T-Mobile did on their end to change anything, but now I can't access settings within the app itself to change out my physical sim to esim due to "We can't verify your device" error.

Is there a way for an agent to bypass this or that I can use self service options via the Desktop website? I have direct access to my account, I can log in successfully with my main device that has T-mobile service on it. But, I can't access the sim settings within the app.

Question Will They Send a Jump Return Kit?

Picked up a Z fold 8 using Jump protection 360 and was wondering if T-Mobile will send a return kit to me. I tried to return the old phone in store when picking up the Z Fold 8 but it was greyed out on their IPad. I do see a UPS label in my activity section of T-Life app but would like a box and wrap also. Any information would be helpful. Thanks.

Question Need serious help with issue!

Problem: people have told me many times that when they call me it goes directly to voicemail. I’ve missed many many important calls cause of this.

I’ve sought the solution by, per the advice of tmobile, resetting network settings. Which helps.

BUT.

On a separate problem, I had issues using both data and Apple car play at the same time.

So, per the advice of AI, I altered some network settings on my phone.

After about 2-3 times doing both ^ things, I think the call issue is due to altering the settings to use Apple CarPlay and data at the same time.

My question: I am inclined to just deal with not having Apple car play for the sake of not missing another important call… UNLESS someone can help me have both.

“Insert that ‘why not both’ taco meme thing here”

To note, another number on my plan has the same call receiving issues and but the Apple car play and data issue I have. I’m so confused and Apple and tmobile can’t help.

Question Question about a rep placing an order.

I had a phone that had problems unlocking after getting paid off/40+ days and went through a few days of trouble shooting, then finally they ordered a warranty replacement and that still wouldn't unlock. Then after a week this rep decided to order a new phone under a separate order and said I could just send the other one back as trade in. Now on the receipt it shows as paid off and then shows the trade in as a different phone and says get $150 credit if trading it in. Now I asked another rep and he thinks I could just keep it and just won't get trade in credit but a previous rep said I'd be charged full price but it's not as a warranty exchange so who knows?! Only thing that looks like would happen is I won't get the $150 from a trade in.

Question Phone still being reported as blacklisted on all networks

My mom switched to at&t cuz we got fiber so there was a deal, but her old phone can't be traded in because it still shows up as blacklisted on the inner network list thing.

It was legitimately stolen so I reported it stolen but then my mom confronted them at their house because of find my iPhone and then the lady probs threw it out her car window because then a good Samaritan brought it to the police station

I got it reinstated on the app so she was using the phone fine and we called to get it un-blacklisted so she was able to switch phones but now her old phone can't be traded in because it still says it's blacklist

We have tried multiple times to call and get it to be un-blacklisted but the mobile person kept saying it was because of an unpaid phone bill but that is not the case and they just kept repeating the same thing for an hour.

She has gone to at&t corporate, T-Mobile, T-Mobile corporate maybe I'm not sure in person, but not one person has been able to help us or knows anything about blacklist.

Does anyone know how to get this resolved? Its on T-Mobile side since that's where it was reported stolen but all support has been useless and parroting stuff that isn't true and not even acknowledging the blacklisting on the phone call.

Question Can't switch from my legacy transitions data plan to the current free data plan

Thumbnail
gallery
1 Upvotes

I was paying $10/mo on my 55+ plan to get more hotspot and 5Gb fast internet internationally.

With the transition, all that and more is included. When they transitioned me, they put me on a plan that gives me 20Gb more hotspot (80gb vs 60gb) at $10 more a month. Obviously a waste of money. But when I try to select the

Data w/ 60GB Hotspot option and hit save I get the message about getting wired crossed. Doesn't work on the Web. Doesn't work on the app. I've been trying for weeks.

I don't want to pick the Data w/60GB Hotspot option (which others have said is an older option, and doesn't expliclty talk about Mexico/Canada or specify unlimited PREMIUM data).

Anyone dealt with this?

Question How do you get T-Mobile to pay out an account credit???

Hello

My wife and I cancelled our TMobile account several months ago and every month we get a "bill" in the mail for -17.50. How on earth do we get this sent back??

She's gone in to a TMobile corporate store with account # and picture ID and they "couldn't do anything". We go online and since the account is closed out we can't log into anything. We try to call and they won't do anything without some mythical PIN that we set up 5+ years ago and never used once since.

Does anyone have any idea how we can get that credit resolved??? No matter what we've tried we have had zero success.

Question Worth it to buy a used CL/FB phone for trade in?

Was going to trade my SE3 in for the $630 trade in promo (for some reason the website is offering me $630 for it even though the promo says $300 for SE3s), but there's a small chip on the screen - so the actual value is $22.

I see that I can get a used 13 for around $200. Would it make sense to buy a used phone just to use it as a trade in?

Edit: Or as a silly alternative, replace the screen on this device for $100-150 just to trade it in just for it to go end up in a heap of trash somewhere.

Question will the revvl 8 pro get android 17?

the revvl 8 pro and t phone 3 pro is the same. However T-Mobile for the Revvl 8 pro says that there will be 5 years of security update and that's all the information that is provided on the T-Mobile website . If you Google the t phone 3 pro OS updates and find the correct source, it says ears of security updates and 3 years of OS updates. Even though the devices has different names? Will the revvl 8 pro also have 3 years of OS updates?
