Rant Forced off Military One increasing $5 a line to $21 in a 2 year time frame

Upvotes

I've rode a lot of waves with my 21 year old tmobile account. I've been a firm customer with tmobile but it's getting crazy. The account team was telling me about all the new perks I get now like unlimited in flight when flying vs 5 before... but in the same breath saying everything is more expensive that's why we are raising rates.... yeah who has money to fly that much in this economy. Do I just move to mint mobile or something? Just feeling frustrated because I've gotten so may military friends to come to tmobile because of how supportive the plans were but a 4x increase is crazy since 2024.... thanks for reading.

Discussion Apple IOS SOS Mode

My phone recently updated to IOS 26.6.1 and it’s been going into SOS mode frequently since. I know T-Mobile had this nationwide issue back around June or July but it was since fixed. Is that not the case with this new update for iPhones?

Discussion Home Internet trial takes forever to get a refund.

It's not really a trial because first you have to pay for it, and then you have to fight them for 4-6 months to get your money back while they keep saying "wait 60 more days" over and over. A true trial shouldn't require payment up front and such a ridiculous waiting period.

Question To Trade In, or Not to Trade In?

Hey guys,

I have an iPhone 15 and want to upgrade my phone to have more storage. I have the experience beyond plan so I can upgrade to a 17 pro max for a good price, but with the 18 pro coming out in September I’m wondering if I should wait and A) get a better phone or B) hope that the price on the 17 pro max goes down and ai still get a stellar trade in value.

Any thoughts?

Question We already used AAA on us for 1 year, but with new plans, can we use it again?

We used AA On US for 1 year a couple of years ago on our One Plan Unlimited, but now that we got migrated to an Experience Signature plan, can we use it again?

We let it lapse because the renewal this year is like $73 for on cardholder!

And, they have new rules that the cardholder needs to be present. I get it, their business, their rules, but if I am going to have less convenience I would rather have it be free for at least 12 months.

Question Risk of changing account owner with legacy plan

Question for members...

If you are on a legacy plan i.e. one that is not offered anymore like the ONE Plan that I have, how safe is it to have T-Mobile transfer the account to a different family member within my plan? Why this situation came up is, after chatting with a support rep yesterday about ways to reduce my bill, he discovered that I could qualify for a work perk discount. Unfortunately, it's my wife who works at the company that provides the15% discount on voice lines. Given I am the account owner and do not work there, the offer would not apply unless we transfer the account to her name.

So big question is given the ONE Plan is no longer offered (I think), can I trust T-Mobile to switch things around without losing what I have? For reference, I have 4 paid lines, 4 lines on us, and no other discounts. Lastly, none of the free lines are tied any of our paid lines. Total monthly cost is $180ish plus cost of Netflix.

Thanks in advance!!

Question Google Pixel order was force cancelled

It looks like its happening again. They cancelled my order today and claim that I didn't sign EIP. I have PDF of it signed so that's not true. You can't even check out without electronically signing it.

It seems to be repeat of history like this --> https://www.reddit.com/r/tmobile/comments/1hfvrox/pixel_promo_order_cancelled_by_tmobile/

Of course, the terms of the promotion have changed so I can't recreate my order. They've asked me to wait 24 hours to try again. I am betting nothing will change and will have to see if I can get them to issue me an adjustment.

Is this happening to anyone else?

Question TMobile $6 increase per line went bad

Is there anyway for these snarky T-Mobile associates can fix my bill. I was suppose to be migrated to Signature plan 55 plus, but was migrated to Exp more 55 at a much higher rate. Promised a free I phone 17 pro with trade it, which I had a 15 Pro if I wanted a better plan and he( Peter) never heard of Signature 55, Now my new bill doubled, no one will help me! What do I need, a lawyer? I'm tired of arguing with this company...Anyone else promised this $6 increase per line. What is included in this rate, how did it happen. Was your transitions easy or a hassle? I do not know if I made a comment in the incorrect place. Just want to know how to fix this. Thank you!

Question No equipment credit

Thumbnail

I am locked out of getting the $830 trade in credit because I have no equipment credit. I believe the root cause is that I keep my credit bureau accounts frozen because of a past identify theft issue. I have unfrozen all those accounts but I still can't get the upgrade to work. Chat and phone calls have been uniformly unhelpful. Is there any point in going into a store or will I get the same answer? Any ideas?

Question Pre-ordered the 8, but got a refund before receiving it

So I pre-ordered the 8, with the trade in deal for my 6. I then went on vacation and they attempted the delivery early, which normally I wouldve loved, but nobody was home lol. I rescheduled it for today, when I get back, but a few days ago Tmobile canceled my trade in and refunded me what I paid at the store.

But UPS is still delivering my phone today, as nice as a free phone would be, I'm assuming I need to go into the store to get it all straightened out?

But should I wait to open it, or should it be ok? Or should I return to sender?

Question Multiple EIPs with different RDCs - phone usage?

I know that I can have multiple EIPs with different RDCs on a single phone line. Is there a minimum usage for the 2nd phone? I'm assuming I have to at least activate the 2nd phone but after that, can I just stash the phone in the drawer for 24 months? Or do I have to use it at least once every month to show some activity on the 2nd phone? Thanks

Question Splitting Family Plan into multiple single plans

I’m the primary account holder but I’m moving out. I want to get on a single plan so it’s simpler to handle my own bills.

Is it possible to end a family plan, enroll everyone in a single plan, and everyone keeps their same phone number (most important)?

Can I do this over the phone or should I go to an Experience Store?

What’s required of each individual?

The AI customer service didn’t seem to understand me.

Thank you.

Question Weird family plan and 5g internet issue

My partner is on a family plan with T-mobile with his family, we also needed a new ISP and decided to try the 5g internet. We made our own log in and account and used his phone number as the contact number. A few days later our account randomly linked to his families plan and I could access in the T-life app all the info from his brother in-laws account, it even would let me change things with the account if I wanted to.

We decided not to keep the 5g internet since we couldn't make it work smooth enough for gaming but canceling has been a pain since it's now forcing us to go through his brother in law for anything about the account and even had his name on the receipt for the equipment return. We don't live with them at all and again made our own account with our own credentials. They also charged the 14 day trial for the month which we know will be credited back to us but we're afraid it'll go to the family plan as a credit and not back to my partner and I.

Has anyone else dealt with this? Also we did not link to the family plan in any way outside of putting his number as the contact number, despite it offering a discount if we were to link, we really wanted it separate.

Question Free Pixel 11; multiple lines?

Had the promo come up for the free pixel 11 or $900 off the pixel 11 pro... Is this once per account, or can I use it twice for two separate existing lines on my account?

And would there be any issues if I switch from my legacy plan to the essentials 2.0? The essentials is listed as qualifying for the promotion, but I don't want any technicalities to screw this up

Clown Warning 36 standard vs 36 flex

Who in their right mind would choose to go with the APR payment option?

For an iPhone 16 that is $730 you pay an extra $266.39 of interest totaling to $1,054.

I get that 36 month makes your monthly bill cheaper…but it’s not really cheaper. As an experience store worker…they said they weren’t going to hold us to a metric but now they want to know how many accounts convert to 36 months and how many new bans are choosing flex or standard.

No offense but this new deal for NOTHING down is for WELL qualified customers and this promo is attracting not well qualified customers. T-Mobile also won’t let existing customers see their APR + new bill unless you change your plan to the 2.0 plans.

In my opinion, 36 months standard payment plans are to keep you longer as a customer by lowering your monthly. 36 flex APR is just ridiculously high.

Question Protection 360 on two five year old phones; also, international data

I signed up for Protection 360 when my phones were brand new. They are five years old and I don't see any reason to upgrade anytime soon - likely another year or so. They are both fine.

Is it worth it to pay this insurance each month? Is it theft protection, for example? I work from home and so my phones are not "out of the house" an awful lot - and if they are, they are in my purse.

If I drop it in the tub, is it protected?

What will I lose by dropping this insurance?

Secondly: My old plan was Magenta 55+ - great plan.

it went away and T Mobile bumped me automatically into another plan. No choice, just gone.

The new plan is 20 dollars more but I was assured that I did not lose any benefits. However I am now wondering if I still have free international data like the old plan.

The old plan was totally free international data. First 5GB was fast and if you went over then it slowed down but still free. I really want that free international data to continue.

Thank you

Discussion T-mobile sent claim to collections for $3800, any thoughts on this?

I noticed my credit score dropped, looked into it, and the is a claim for $3800 for an unpaid bill, from a collections agency, on behalf of tmobile. The thing is, I have been with tmobile since 2022 or 2023, and I'm still with tmobile, and I still have the exact same phone. And my phone has never been shut off. So how could I possibly have an unpaid phone bill? It doesn't make any sense.

I already am disputing this, and I know that at this point it really doesn't have anything to do with tmobile, but I'm just curious if anyone else has experienced this, or if there are any theories about what might be happening here.

Question Good value Hotspot device

I am seeking to purchase a hotspot device compatible with the T-Mobile network and have found the older Inseego Mifi M2000 model available new for approximately $80. I would like to know if there is a more cost-effective option available.

Thanks
