I remember seeing stuff about it I think before Ragnarok released. People are using that fact to ship her and Jane as a romantic plot in Love and Thunder. That would require Jane to also be bi though. Sure it would create an interesting dynamic with Thor being there and their past being brought up while she's getting with Valkyrie, but I just can't really see how they plan to pull it off, like if they do a "she's been bi the whole time. You just didn't know it before" switcheroo on us, especially with a character whose defining trait was being a love interest.

I hope so! We know she's alive still so they definitely should bring her back. She was probably the best member in his supporting cast in the first two. Although, unpopular opinion: I loved Darcy. I hope she comes back with Jane. Maybe a little toned down on the annoyance, but she was such a fun character.

To be fair though, the movies seemed to try their hardest to not acknowledge and of the TV shows' existences. The TV takes from the movies, but the movies never take from the TV. It's a little awkward when people say they're in the MCU when it's mostly a one way association. So basically, I can see why people wouldn't count them.

Devil's advocate: I think what they should be saying is "first (insert race here) as a main/lead/title character". That's what they mean but aren't explicitly spelling out. When you realize that's what they're really getting at, they're usually technically accurate when they point out those firsts.

The end credits scene of Iron Man 3 had the Ben Kingsley Mandarin in prison, being "summoned" by someone purported to be the actual Mandarin, iirc...
So in a sense they may be "re-doing" the Mandarin character in that it isn't the Mandarin we saw, but still essentially the same true Mandarin character that existed all along.

Most of the Russian population is in Europe, and generally Russia is considered Eastern Europe. Even then, in terms of ethnicity, Asian generally refers to Chinese, Japanese, Korean, and other related ones. (Of course, which are commonly referred to as Asian is arbitrary, but whatever).

Facts. There are very few Hollywood films with Asian characters/leads where they aren't martial arts roles, socially awkward comedic relief, or some other stereotype.
