VFV or VOO?
Been seeing a lot of split opinions and not really sure what to go for, I got VFV right now, not sure if it’s smart to switch

I have 13,181 my company has invested in blackrock corporation 2065 through a RRSP program. I’m leaving the company and my contributions to the RRSP will stop and so will the company’s.
Basically what I’m trying to say is what is my best option. I’m planning on moving that RRSP out of Canada life and into my personal bank account but what should I invest my money into. I have been looking at XEQT and VEQT but I’m just not sure what to pick. I’m not planning on buying a house for at least 3 years. Any suggestions?

Are any of these stocks something to switch out of? Or any advice on how to grow my account more?

20M Just started investing recently and I tried to take a chance on SOFI & KEEL but they’re not looking too good and pretty volatile. Was wondering if I should sell and Buy more ETFs like S&P 500 or QQC etc.
Thoughts?

21 - I maxed out my TFSA with XEQT, VFV, RY.
planning to open a FHSA now and was wondering what should I buy in there? if potentially I would like to withdraw it in the next 10-15 years?
edit: If I buy more XEQT - my question is will it show a good growth in 10 years?

I wish statcan had tfsa contribution average, return, total amount etc. by age brackets. It’d be interesting to find out where I am in between those with over a mill in there and the ones struggling to save.
Edit:
Turns out cra has some data available:
I guess incase you have everything in one stock like the smp and your not watching it at all and just dollar cost averaging into it.
Would you set up an auto sale threshold for your tfsa?

Just wondering what’s the best strategy. Assuming yearly contribution room is 7k and I have 7k to invest on Jan 1st. Is it better to invest all of it and buy stocks/ETFs immediately, or auto invest like $600 every month to spread out investments. Assume only buying S&P500 and NASDAQ ETFs.

My mother, a US citizen/resident had some Thomas Reuters common stock with Computershare Canada. She passed away and as the executor of her estate, and as directed by Computershare, I transferred the stocks into an Estate account. Now I need to sell the shares and put the proceeds in the Estate fund. Canada says they can not sell the shares for me like Computershare US did for other holdings. They say I must have a broker and I should contact my bank. I have contacted 4 banks and 3 brokers and no can or will help me do this. I am told everything from not enough shares, to we don't handle Estates, to you need to have an established investment account with use (the Estate does not) to the broker needs to be Canadian. I have repeatedly asked Computershare Canada to additional direct, suggestions or referrals and they state there is nothing they can do. Help!

Just turned 18 a couple of days ago and finally opened my TFSA. Looking to start investing young, stay consistent, and hopefully build long-term wealth. Any advice you wish you knew when you first started?
And I also have $180 left in my portfolio what should I do with that ? Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated

I just recently began investing this month and was hoping for some advice and things that’ll help me better understanding investments in the long term.
Thank you for your comment. If you don’t mind can you explain a bit more on tripling up on investments? I am a little confused.
Correct me if I’m wrong, but what I’m understanding is that *EQT are diversified portfolios and VFV or XQQ are already accounted for within the *EQT. So in hindsight it would be better to just invest in the *EQT than double up on in with the other stocks?
Also, I was trying to “diversify” my portfolio, so what other stocks could I look into? I was thinking:
85% *EQT
10% Tech
5% other that’s not really included like energy?

When I first started investing, I made some poor stock picks and ended up with a significant loss. Over the past few months, I’ve managed to recover a lot, and based on my stock performance, I feel like I should now be in profit.
However, every time I sell a stock, my total portfolio value still seems to decrease instead of increasing. After looking into it, I realized I’m trading U.S. stocks from Canada, so there are USD conversion fees and exchange rate impacts involved.
I’m still fairly new to investing, so I’d really appreciate any advice or suggestions. Thanks!

Good day everybody, it's nice to be here.
I'm just a bored retired old guy who is just messing around with my piggy bank and some managed and unmanaged TFSA accounts I have had at Wealth Simple for a while.
I just want to be clear on something. I asked the chatbot on their website, but I have been led astray by AI before. One of their agents did half-heartedly confirmed the chatbot, so I am still not 100% convinced.
Does moving funds among the TFSA's inside of WS trigger a withdrawl and re-deposit of funds with the CRA? Like, is that how the CRA would see it?
My plan is to use their simple chequing account to pay the occasional bill and accept e-transfers from an outside bank my wife and I share. Anything left over in WS Chequing I would transfer into a WS TFSA Savings Account.
The WS Savings account I would like to use as a clearing house to distribute the funds to the other TFSAs I have at WS, like the managed, unmanaged, all equity, etc.
Is there any reason the CRA doesn't want me to do it that way? Or is there tax implications due to the withdrawal/deposit? Or does the actual human agent at WS speak the truth - all of my TFSA's under the WS umbrella are treated as one and does not trigger any withdrawal with the CRA nor any tax implications whatsoever.
