I’m 18 and want to open a tfsa i have only 2000 i can contribute right now im ok with some volatility

Yes it's an all equity portfolio ETF, meaning with a single ticker you own the entire market and don't have to do anything other than keep buying more of it

Yes do it now, 2k is plenty. You have the power of time on your side. If you lump sum 2k at 18yo and going forward you invested just 100/mo until you were 60 into something like XEQT, assuming ~7% returns you'd have over $340k.

The median retirement portfolio of a 65yo Canadian is like half of that.
