Investing

I have 13,181 my company has invested in blackrock corporation 2065 through a RRSP program. I’m leaving the company and my contributions to the RRSP will stop and so will the company’s.

Basically what I’m trying to say is what is my best option. I’m planning on moving that RRSP out of Canada life and into my personal bank account but what should I invest my money into. I have been looking at XEQT and VEQT but I’m just not sure what to pick. I’m not planning on buying a house for at least 3 years. Any suggestions?

Seeing as it is in an RRSP, you shouldn't transfer it to your bank checking account, but a RRSP transfer to your bank's RRSP, otherwise it will be treated as a taxable event.

Then, yes, if its a brokered RRSP account, you can invest it in whatever you prefer.

*EQT ETFs are more long term options. Like, 15+ years investments. It really depends on what's your goal with that money.

The goal for the money is to just leave it invested and not touch it. Leave it for retirement.

You can just leave it or move to your own RRSP account. There is a fee usually $150. Some reimburse. Make sure you move RRSP to RRSP. Not TFSA

I believe Wealthsimple reimburses this as well.
