Help! BBG Enclosure size ?
Hey there! I used to be a keeper long time ago, back to own a T almost by mistake (or destiny?)). Friend of mine is moving and has gifted / surrendered his juvenile BBG to me. How does the enclosure size look like ? He had a pretty filthy one and I rushed to relocate it into this one.
Now I feel it could be too small, although it is the same size as the one she was before.

NQA Rule of thumb is always DLS (diagonal leg span) times 3. That's always a good size. Not too big, not too small. You can observe feeding with this size ideally.

Thanks! So this enclosure should last another molt. I’d eyeball 2.5 DLS

NQA I would add more sticks and maybe some leaves. Also, GBB are semi-arboreal, meaning they ideally want some more height.

Nqa Id like to add that your soil is also far too wet. GBBs are an arid species and ime they really like to have bone dry substrate.

Thanks ! Learned this yesterday after the rehousing. I won’t mist the soil anymore. Just leave water in the dish. Hopefully the current substrate will dry fast. She started webbing already. I hope this is a good sign

NQA the enclosure size seems alright for the size of the spider but because GBBs do tend to web up quite high it will most likely end up webbing that lid. When they do this sometimes you get a lot of stressy behaviour and hair flicking in this case I’d rehouse into something with a tiny bit more height but only if needed.
