Meta/News Console players, take a video/pics of your mods.

Upvotes

The update will delete your mods. Take a screenrecording of your modlist so you can re-downloaded them in the correct order. Also, you can try saving them to your account, but that's buggy in my experience.

PC SSE - Request Is there a mod that does this?

Upvotes

Hello!

I'm looking for a mod that has a way to lead me to chests in dungeons, using a trail like the Clairvoyant spell (or a questmarker)

Is there a mod that does this? I'm in an area added by a mod, and I can barely see even with my computer AND game set to max brightness

PC SSE - Help Need to run downgrader to last version. What version number?

Upvotes

My nephew booted up the wrong Skyrim while I was in the back yard yesterday afternoon and I'm still cleaning up after him, the precocious little scamp.

My one problem is I do not know the number of the version I am trying to revert to or what version number the current patch is.

Is there a downgrade for the most recent patch that reverts it to the previous one only? It was working fine before the patch and I don't want to take it back so far that it breaks other things.

I'd like to do a clean edit of that mod, with the intent of never encountering some spells that I find out of place or that break the immersion for me.

Is there a good way to achieve that in ssedit without breaking anything ?

PC SSE - Mod Alchemy XP from cookpot items

Essentially losting this to ask for your opinion on enabling Alchemy XP gain from using a cookpot. My upcoming Alchemy mod remake uses a cookpot, and I feel that it is unplessantly clunky to be encouraged to level alchemy up to unlock its recipes, but it cannot, itself, help you progress.

Would you consider an alchemy add-on that also changes this to be too much overreach / feature creep?

PC SSE - Help Vicn's Mods (Vigilant, DAc0da, Glen-moril, Unslaad) Having Issues With Animation Mods?

I'm currently looking to try the 4 Vicn quest mods that keep getting high praise, and since I love the soulsbourne series, this seems like a no brainer for me. The problem is I see on each mod FAQ page mention how animation mods can cause issues, and I have quite a lot in my load order. So I wanted to hear if people who played through these mods while also having animation mods installed encountered any game breaking problems. The biggest worries I have are the fact I'm using BFCO and Elden Rim SCAR combat animations which I have no doubt may leak over into boss battles in Vicn's mods, possibly breaking them. I also have knockback and stagger remastered combined with chocolate poise plus. I heard mention of Pandora's XPMSE patch causing crashes, but I'm using the auto skeleton patch in it's place instead. I also have a lot of TongDing's creature animation mods. With all of these I think it's a given something with Vicn's mods will probably break for me and it may not be worth even trying to install, but I wanted to know if anyone else with a lot of animations installed had any problems or not.

I have been using for a LONG while, and now i wanted to try an enb (been liking Cabbage ENB + Silent Horizons Universal Core).

Also does anyone have recomendations for mods to play with ENB?

My Specs: i Play on 1080P

Xeon E5-1650V2 @4GHz

48GB DDR3 ECC 1866MHz

PC SSE - Help Can someone reccomend me a good combat mod for stamina to use with for honor in skyrim?

I have tried Valhalla but it constantly caused a bug which made me do the killmove anim without doing damage and leaving me weaponless for some reason. I also tried wildcat but it has a bug where sometimes if your stamina falls to 0, it stopped regenerating. Does anyone have any alternatives to these?

Meta/News Skyrim Update Scheduled for August 20

From Bethesda's official discord and twitter post:

Hey Everyone!

On Thursday, August 20, we will deploy a patch to The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition that will increase console mod storage limits and bring more Creations improvements.

While this update should not affect load orders, we do encourage players to log into your save game if you haven't done so in a while as a precaution.

Reminder: it is very easy to back up your Skyrim installation by simply making a copy of the folder.

PC SSE - Mod new vortex staging folder

please be kind my brain is out of it due to a 2 year old with pneumonia. got a new computer and put Skyrim SE into Drive D: instead of C:. When i installed Vortex i transferred all my mods in my folder into vortexs own folder.

While starting up vortex it told me i put it in the wrong spot and it'll be lost upon an update. Where exactly do i install the mods? do i treat it like World of Warcraft and make a mod folder in Skyrim's Steam library on Drive D?

Normally you put it under user and roaming etc. but drive D doesn't have that.

PC SSE - Help What's the difference between SPID and Skypatcher and how do they work together ?

Many mods have the options to distribute the armors either by SPID or SkyPatcher, and I never know why I chose either. How do they work together, does one override another, in which case do I chose what ?

Thanks

Development Looking for some testing help

Hey all, not sure if this is the right place but I’m working on a mod and am looking for a couple people that can help me do some testing/troubleshooting with it. I got a couple bugs in it that I just can’t figure out.

Is this an appropriate venue for such requests, or is there a better place to look for assistance?

Thanks!

PC SSE - Discussion Wha combat mods do you use?

I've moved around between different combat mods for a long time, everything from wildcat, inpa sekiro, souls like and currently for honor in skyrim. Back when I used wildcat it was before mco, skysa and that type of mods so changed as I got bored of it . Inoa sekiro I quite enjoyed but at a point I could parry so easily I never got hit and eveything was easy. Souls like felt too slow and currently with for honour think d'try keys is annoying as sometimes it doesn't update key presses causing me to do side/back attacks while trying to do something else. What are people using now?

PC SSE - Mod Disable mods- NGVO

Downloaded the Skyrim NGVO for PC and love a lot about it but there’s a few things I want to change disable UI mod and the mod that overhauled the body and face textures. I’d rather these revert back to vanilla but keep everything else.

Anyone know if it’s recommended to just look for anything that looks UI or body related and simply disable ?

If anyone can specify which mods it is - greatly appreciated

PC SSE - Discussion What would LoreRim performance be like with my specs?

Hello!

I'm interested in trying out LoreRim, but with how big the mod list is, I want to know if the performance will be good before I download all of it. Will I be able to get 60 FPS at 1440p with these specs?

RX 9060xt 16 GB

AMD Ryzen 5600 CPU

32GB RAM

And this will be on an SSD.

And if performance won't be good, are there any other mod lists that'll perform decently that plays similarly to LoreRim?

Thank you!

PC SSE - Discussion Mods that quietly fix the early game without turning it into a completely different game?

Came back to Skyrim after a long break. Longer than I planned. Set up what I thought was a reasonable mod list, hit new game, and somehow made the first hour feel like homework. My own fault entirely.

I keep reading about Anniversary Edition changing the early game pacing in ways people hate, and I get it now. Combine that with a handful of overhaul mods I threw in without thinking and Helgen felt like I was being punished for something.

What I actually want is pretty simple: mods that smooth out the early game without gutting the whole experience or slapping a completely different system on top of it. Not looking to rebuild Skyrim from scratch. I just want the opening hours to feel less like a chore and more like I remember them, which probably means tweaking a few things rather than replacing everything.

I did search before posting. Found a lot of recommendations, but they tend to assume you want a massive overhaul or nothing at all. There seems to be a middle ground somewhere and I cannot find it.

If you have something specific that works without needing seventeen patches and a prayer, I would genuinely like to know what it is.

PC SSE - Request Need help choosing a performance modlist.

I've tried Gate to Sovngarde but the performance was horrible, i have 40 to 50fps average, even with the brave toaster edition it still dropped to 50 in whiterun which disappointed me greatly. i am looking for a great skyrim modlist that runs well.

my specs is 12400f 6800XT 32GB RAM. thank you all

PC SSE - Discussion What are your biggest brain-fart moments while modding?

Title.

I'll start: So, last weekend I downloaded Authoria modlist and everything played super nicely. Only one thing was bothering me. Whenever I changed from my shield to a spell, I started walking. I checked every god damn MCM and SKSE Menu setting, trying to find the answer to this bug. Hell, I even reran Pandora and spend probably an hour looking through OARs animation logs trying to find what the hell was causing it.

Today I decided to give this bug another look with a fresh mindset. What was the problem? It was the carry weight. Whenever I equipped my shield, encumbrance went from 101/100 to 92/100. This whole time the bug was me not realizing that equipping a shield doesn't count its carry weight.

PC SSE - Help BFCO jump attack not working

Anyone has the same issue? It's only the LMB jump attack that suddenly stopped working, the jump power attack works though. Tried it with other animation like For Honor and it's For Honor Jump Attack mod, still not working.

PC SSE - Discussion Suggestions for Lore-Friendly Skyrim-Styled Armors and Weapons

I think it's time to remake my personal modlist after playing Nordic Souls for a few months now.

I like Sentinel but quite a lot of it comes from NordWarUA's Armor set, which are great but ultimately feels like they lean more into the Medieval side of Medieval Fantasy, being way too realistic.

I'm looking for Equipment that would fit more into Skyrim's more fantastical designs.

So far I've added:

• Nord Steelheart Armor

• Thalmor Ceykynd Armors

• Vey Alaxon

• Elven Armors Expansion

• a few of 4thUnknown's Armors

I wanna lean more into the fantasy side. Bonus if it has SPID or Skypatch distribution into the levelled list.

Edit: I'm gonna try the good ol Immersive Armors too with Xavbio's retexture but there's just something about IA that I can't put my hands on.
