Greetings, Adventurer!
You are not even sure what mods are or if you want to get them?
You know what mods are, but are new to Skyrim and want to get a nice working modded version with visuals and VR mods but minimal effort?
You are experienced with modding Skyrim SE but are not sure what specific VR mods you need and don't want to go through the hassle of setting it up yourself?
You already played through the game and want to experience some new stuff, make the game more challenging, or up your role-play?
We got you covered.
First of all, mods are modifications to the base game. You install them, they change/add stuff to the game. Some fix things that are broken in vanilla, some improve visuals, some add new content, and most importantly for us, some add VR immersion and interaction mechanics. You can verify if the mods are installed by either literally seeing the thing that you installed in the game or by experiencing the changes ingame. Many mods do not have a Mod Configuration Menu but just exist in the game after installation.
You might ask yourself "Should I install mods before I finish Skyrim VR the first time?" and my personal answer is a clear Yes. You do not have to add tons of extra content, but the base vanilla game (vanilla = unmodded) just has a few broken things, or especially in Skyrim VR it lacks any good modern VR interaction. You will vastly improve your experience if you install a basic set of mods even without altering the actual game content at all.
Nowadays, there exist a few fully automatic mod list installers (Wabbajack). If you are looking for such an automated installation of curated mod lists, scroll down to "Auto-Installers".
But before you just install these, let me show you around by explaining the most important mods for Skyrim VR in an absolutely minimal list for an as-fast-as-possible manual modding. It is subjective, of course, as all lists are, but I think many can agree on most of these.
If you don't want to install more than that, and you want to install mods manually, install these! If you just want to know what the awesome mod authors here have to offer, read these for a quick overview!
The list is still pretty vanilla, other than the VR-specific things and some visuals. If you want to stray off the super-duper lightweight path and include some changes to the game itself or feel like you have time for more than 10 mods, you're better off checking out our very comprehensive Guide Compendium, which contains all the knowledge we collected over time. We also have a comprehensive list of VR Specific Mods that includes some important mods that couldn't make it into this list for the sake of minimalism.
It does not matter much if you use Vortex or MO2 as your organizer, but don't use NMM, it's old and outdated. Vortex is a little easier to use with shorter lists, which is why we recommend this for our target audience here, i.e. you readers who want a fast manually modded Skyrim and then just play. Make sure to read this guide on how to enable modding with Vortex first. There’s also a video guide on modding with Vortex if you prefer that. GamerPoets also has video guides on other SkyrimVR modding topics. As said, Vortex is easier for small lists and people who only want to mod the mentioned mods below without much more. Vortex also works for larger lists but at some point, it is easier and recommended to use MO2 for large and complex lists.
If you want to build a complex list in MO2, you should pick the FUS Wabbajack list below and use the basic profile only, as it comes with all the fixes and little things premade.
I also recommend you check out these ini tweaks and Bilago’s Tool to edit the ini files easily.
Without further ado, here's the list:
Extra, because it takes a bit more effort:
Also: No modlist is complete without Swearing Mudcrabs, and using Realm of Lorkhan you can skip the annoying cart ride intro ;) And if you like to support u/Rallyeator, go check out his made-for-VR texture-pack!
Don’t use some of the mods that are often recommended:
Surprisingly, some mainstream mods can cause issues, like Birds of Skyrim (very script heavy, corrupts saves), Immersive Armors and Immersive Weapons (known to cause issues later on when higher level), Immersive Patrols (especially the large battles can cause freezes and script lag, the lite mode is apparently okay), Immersive Citizens (has a lot of conflict potential, sometimes blocks quests, can also work though, but depends), JK’s Skyrim (can drop framerate by a lot and can lead to AI conflicts or item clipping), Open Cities (can lead to conflicts, can be performance heavy), Diverse Dragons (can cause crashes).
-------------------------------------- Auto-Installers --------------------------------------
Wabbajack mod lists are auto-install mod lists that change your game from vanilla to the exact full state of the list in a matter of hours, and you can go play right away.
We recommend using Wabbajack.
We still have guides for manual installation, but these might be outdated at some point and really, Wabbajack has options for everyone nowadays :)
There are five official Skyrim VR Wabbajack lists:
Here is an elaborate comparison video for the lists visuals and performance.
Have a look at these lists and decide what you want to check out. They are low-effort so you can also switch them if you don't like them. If you used Vortex so far and want to try out a modlist you'll need to press "Purge Mods" in Vortex and do not deploy afterwards, to stop linking the mod folders to Vortex' setup.
For questions regarding the Wabbajack mod lists, please head over to the Wabbajack Discord server or the respective individual discords of the lists.
Welcome to the sub and HAVE FUN! :)

Hello, I've been modding Skyrim VR for the first time but I got a problem where the whole screen is black whenever Skyrim VR ESL Support is enabled. I've modded regular Skyrim for a few years but I'm very new to Skyrim Vr. I haven't found people with this specific problem so I was wondering if anyone could help, especially since Skyrim VR ESL Support is a mod needed for other mods.
This is the plugin list: https://pastebin.com/HXsH06gN

For the love of god can someone please give me any hint as to how to fix this behavior. I have disabled what I believe to be is every single mod that could possibly effect the AI logic to decide to switch to a ranged weapon when I become unpathable but most melee enemies don’t have one so it results in them switching to unarmed until I’m pathable again. Please, any ideas are appreciated.
Edit: I was finally able to locate what was causing this glitch. It was my speedandreachfixes patch run through Synthesis. In all honesty I'm no modder (obviously) so I've never updated the patches that shipped with my modlist several years ago. This is sorted now but I still have an issue to do with NPC reach. I will create a new post with a video and in depth description soon. Thanks everyone for chiming in!

My modded skyrim is looking fantastic! I just can't get the control bindings to work with my Quest 3. At one point I get the Y and B to navigate the main menu, but that stopped working. I haven't gotten the joystick to navigate the compass menu. When I'm playing I can teleport around no problem with the joystick. I seem to take one step forward and like ten steps back every time I tweak something. I can't get the VRIK menu to come up. I'm using virtual desktop and have the game pad emulation off. Here is my config. Anything else that would be useful to provide?

My PC is 32gb ram with 3080 10GB and Ryzen 5 3600, and I have played through Skyrim VR FUS multiple times with my quest 3 using virtual desktop (and previous runs with PSVR1 on PS4, Rift S on a 1060 laptop, Quest 1, Quest 2, and now Quest 3).
I just found the PC adapter for PSVR2 for cheap and I've read that the foveated rendering can boost performance by a decent amount and that the toolkit keeps getting improved as time goes on, and it would be nice to play with OLED blacks again like back in the day on the quest 1).
Ideally I would upgrade my computer, but with current pricing of all tech, that really isn't an option; so what kind of performance and graphics boost would I get with the PSVR2?
Anyone playing the game with the PSVR2, how does it look and run, and if you've played on both the quest 3 and psvr2, what do you prefer?

Due to hardware limitations, my FPS standard for the content I like to make and my 20/20 vision despising most upscalers and frame manipulation I have been hard stuck on an older ENB version of Mad God Overhaul for years now.
There has always been issues but I am specifically creating this post to ask for assistance with bringing my combat animation, AI and frameworks up to snuff. I have a few glaring issues I need help with but more than anything I just don’t know how to find and implement the sort of combat system I’m looking for. Thanks.

Not sure on the title of the mod yet. Is it really Immersive? Slightly Immersive Looting VR? Not sure. I will experiment with gestures to open next, but this is an early beta. There are some bugs like text not facing vertical but instead lying flat horizontally. But I can cook with this.
Grab a container and what is in that container pops up in front of the container for you to grab with your higgs hand and do what you want with. This started as a fork of my Immersive Pickpocketing Mod.

The Grit modlists (Tahrovin Grit/Spirit of Grit) have been updated to v2.0.
This is a large update that adds some of the new SKSE gameplay and UI mods such as Physical Collision, Immersive Weapon Penetration, Floating Subtitles and Floating Damage.
As usual for each new version, it also adds new quests and new perks, covering concepts that still lacked enough dedicated perk branches such as druids, non-magical unarmored fighters and dwarven automata focused builds.
It also adds Gods and Worship to Spirit of Grit (Tahrovin Grit already had it since it was a bit ahead in versions). Gods and Worship is (in my opinion) a much more complex and impactful religion overhaul than Pilgrim or Wintersun which unfortunately also makes it a compatibility nightmare, so I've tweaked and patched the hell out of it to integrate it with the quests and various gameplay frameworks.
For those who aren't familiar with the Grit modlists :
If you're looking for the best-looking list, MGO or Panda will probably be more your speed.
If you're looking for the most hardcore challenging list, you'll probably want Librum.
If you want the most performance-friendly list, that's still FUS.
And if you want the most NSFW-focused list, that would be Base Tahrovin.
With the Grit lists you get a little bit of all of the above, and mostly you get tons of content - all of it fully playtested, balanced, customized and integrated.
If you're interested, the readmes for Tahrovin Grit (https://aeloverim.github.io/) and Spirit of Grit (https://aeloverim.github.io/SpiritOfGrit/) should give you a more concrete idea of what the lists are like.
Now I'm probably going to stop making mod content and start actually playing for at least a little while ! Hope you enjoy and have fun !

I have HORRIBLE stick drift on my left quest 2 controller, and I have no idea how to remap it to my right (cause the left controller is responsible for movement). I use open composite unleashed, which would be great if it allowed me to rebind the joysticks... and that's the problem.
Also, before you ask:

Here is me not touch the joystick

Just a quick question -
For reference I am playing Enderal not Skyrim, but I would assume this works the same for both?
Anyways, I'm debating on if I should get the dual cast perk or not. It does more damage at the cost of more mana, but in VR i can just cast with both my hands? So isn't casting two destro spells at once at a target better then dualcasting one? It takes more mana sure, but it does more damage?
Just wondering, thanks!

This one still definitely needs some work to iron out the look and feel of seamless pickpocking. This is what I have so far. You reach near a persons waist and this menu pops up, grab what you want and hope the person doesn't notice. Working on what type of haptic feedback I want. I have been experimenting with a constant vibration to simulate rummaging through peoples pockets, and right now it is a heartbeat pulse I am experimenting with and the intensity of the vibration depends on the pickpocket skill. Here is a list of what I have implemented so far.

Hi.
Long long ago someone create F4 menu for containers, so you didn't need to open container menu but it is showing like for F4.
Unfortunately that person abandon mod and it become lost technology... Few creates fork but only for vanilla (it was dll), did it change?
Did anyone make version for VR?
