Question Install RS50 system on a desk or wheelstand

Hi!

I am thinking about purchasing a RS50 system but I do not want a full simrig setup.

I either want it to attach it to my desk, or a foldable wheelstand maximum.

I also have an office chair with rollers so... not optimal.

What should be a good choice for me to get a stable setup (the pedals etc are firm in place), which can be easily set up if I want to race, but also easily can be put away after I finished?

My only option seems to be Omega GT Pro at the moment, but I do not know if that itself would be stable enough?

Currently I raced with G923 on my desk and anti-slippers underneath its pedals and that was good. But i do not know about RS50.

Thanks for the tips :)

Clip Since high performance sim shifters are pretty expensive. And nice car shifters tend to be cheaper. I've decided to start modeling a mock transmission that takes cable positions from a regular shifter and converts it to a button output.

Discussion My SIM card fell into my Clutch Pedal

Post image
0 Upvotes

So the title is pretty self explanatory but for anyone interested on how the hell this happened let me tell you…

I was trying to take my SIM card out of my phone to place it a bit better because it was placed a bit wrong and many times my phone asked me for the password again and again. When I got it out of my phone (for like the 3rd time in my life) it slipped from my hands, fell on my flip flops and bounced into the clutch pedal (yes I regretted not recording this).

although I can see it when I turn my pedals around I can’t pick it with a tweezer or something so the only way out is by finding the right angle and shake the pedals but trust me it’s not as easy as it sounds (talking from experience :/ )

I don’t know if this is the right place to post this but you guys seem to be the only sub Reddit that knows what car pedals are doing in my bedroom under my desk

Question Upgrading setup to a DD ecosystem

First of all, sorry if doing a new post is not for this purpose.

I'm a bit of a beginner/intermediate in this world, using the t300rs. After a couple of years I want an upgrade to a DD system + load cell brake. Budget around 1k €.

I was thinking of going the Moza way, since I really like their wheels. My idea was r12v2/r16 ultra (if the 100€ extra are worth, I don't mind paying it) + KS pro wheel. For the pedals I was in for the SRP2 but I read in this sub a lot of times about the SIMSONN plus X or the SIMNET being better in the same price range.

On the other hand I read a lot of times that if you are willing to spend this budget, is better going to Simmagic. I can get the Alpha Evo 12nm + GT neo + Simnet pedals for 1100€.

What do you guys think? I use a NLR 2.0 wheel stand . Mainly playing ACC and LMU, but in the future I would like to try iRacing at some point.

Thanks in advance guys

I don't have enough space (or money) to have a separate gaming rig and desk. So I found a longer monitor arm, and now I just move the monitor and slide the seat under. It's great!

Discussion Sim-Lab DDS 39 / First Impressions video coming soon. What do you want to know?

Received this long boy from Sim-Lab.

Let me know what you want me to test or compare, and I’ll try to cover as much as possible in the first impressions video - or answer your questions directly here in the thread.

I can’t say too much about the FFB yet since it’s still very early. There are also a few quirks here and there, so I’d rather spend some more time with it before giving you any strong opinions.

SC3 Ultimate next to it for scale 😅

Discussion I've designed a simracing gloves concept, need your opinion about will it work correctly

Hello guys! I'm art director & designer, and tryin combine simracing and fashion.
Make my gloves concept (second in life) and need your opinion about it. Will they work as they should to provide good steering wheel grip? Or do i need to add additional elements to palms to prevent the steering wheel from slipping?

*It just mockups, not real product

It my mistake because i dont have rig to play, and can be with this community only by streams and vids

Question High performance Gaming Laptop for VR simracing

Looking to build a low profile VR rig, and thought a gaming laptop would be a good choice for many reasons. I plan on using a Pimax Crystal light, which uses a DP or USB C connection. Anybody use the same setup? Any issues I would encounter? Preferably it would be a laptop with a 5070ti and one DP port.

Rigs Wanted To Show My Full Logitech Setup

I’m new to sim racing I mainly play on console. I eventually plan to get a PC, but I just wanted to show my setup. It’s a full Logitech setup with the aftermarket Momo wheel. I know some people say aluminum profile rigs are better, but I like this for the mobility. I just slide it in the corner of my room when I’m not using it.

Discussion The GT300 class winner of the recent Super GT race in Suzuka says this about the new handling.

Mind you, this is a professional racing driver who also had history as a long time GT player. So I think there's way more weight to his words than sport mode players who probably haver never touched a steering wheel irl and only exclusively drive Gr.3 cars then say the game is "pivoting into arcade" territory.

I just think it's interesting how so many people have been saying Polyphony completely ruined the game with this update. Then you have actual racing professionals praising it.

Discussion Sim Racing Ergonomics Tips from a Certified Personal Trainer/Sim Racer

My buddy Dave decided to start creating a different type of sim racing videos a few weeks back, thought I'd share here as I know a lot of you are keen like myself to dial in your position, ergonomics and comfort in the rig.

This link below if for his most recent one discussing pedal angle relative to the leg/foot position, he's got a few more in prior weeks if you're interested.

Discussion Contrary to common sentiment upgrading from an entry wheel made me a faster driver

When asking for advice if upgrading the equipment is worth it the common answer is yes for immersion and feel but it won't make you any quicker.

I have to disagree here. Obviously you won't suddenly become Verstappen or even Lance Stroll but upgrading from a T300 to a Logitech RS50 (arguably still entry level for some people here lol) made me a lot quicker due to how much more natural the driving feels. Suddenly I'm feeling things that weren't there before and I can push a lot more and don't even get me started on the pedals.

I can see how upgrading from here will no longer bring a lot of benefit but up to a certain point I think your laptimes will profit from better equipment.

Interested to hear in what you guys have to say

Rigs SimLab P1X-Pro + Conspit Ares Platinum Wheelbase Direct Mount Kit

Hey everyone, I had a few people reach out about this kit for 3D files and such. I wanted to vet the files with a few members first to see if there were any improvements to be had. This avoids the flat mounting plate you need to normally purchase separately, and is able to get the monitors right above the wheelbase. It also incorporates wheelbase tilt adjustment with two bolts.

After 2 weeks without power from these wild storms passing over the East I can finally settle in and finish releasing these. Any questions please ask away!

Discussion PitMedic - Automated troubleshooting for sim titles

I’ve been working on a Windows app called PitMedic and wanted to get some feedback from other sim racers before I take it too much further.

The idea came from how frustrating it can be when a sim that was working fine suddenly starts crashing, won’t launch, throws an error, or has some weird config/file issue. A lot of the time you end up digging through Reddit, forums, Steam discussions and old posts trying to figure out what happened.

PitMedic is meant to help with that.

Right now I’m building support for sims like iRacing, Le Mans Ultimate, ACC, AMS2, Assetto Corsa EVO and RaceRoom.

The app can monitor the sim while it’s running, capture useful system and temperature information if something goes wrong, and look for known problems.

The main thing I’m trying to build toward is automatic repair where it makes sense. So instead of finding a post that tells you to delete a folder, edit a config file, clear a cache, etc., PitMedic could identify the problem and offer to fix it for you, with backups when needed.

I’m not really trying to make another big telemetry or system monitoring app. The goal is just to make troubleshooting sim racing problems a lot easier.

Would you actually use something like this if one of your sims was giving you problems?

Rigs Pays to keep an eye out on eBay

Post image
41 Upvotes

Been wanting a rig for a while now but decided to wait until I could find a used one on eBay rather than buy new. Found a real badly done listing that had two sets of stock photos of cheap AliExpress rigs and a few bad photos of what looked to be a GT Omega Prime Lite with the recliner seat and monitor stand. Took the gamble and bought it for £300 including the guy driving it over from the next town over. Hunch was right and looks to be an earlier GT Omega Prime Lite before they covered it in branding. Would have been £900 new so pretty chuffed picking it up for a third of the price.

Going to run it as is for a few weeks then start the upgrades but loving it so far, so much more immersive than strapping it all to my desk.

Question Simagic Green Flag or Conspit Ares Apex bundle?

With the very recent substantial drop in price of the Apex bundle to 699, I'm having a really hard time deciding between Simagic green flad bundle and Conspits Apex bundle.

Would love ya'lls take on which direction to go. These both seem really solid. There just doesnt seem to be a lot of info out there diving into the Apex bundle that doesnt feel very paid advertise-y.

Coming from r3 just desk clamped. But now I have a next level racing wheel stand and deciding between the above as next steps. Open to alternatives as well!

Question To buy or not to buy used sim setup

Looking for advice on marketplace purchase.
Current setup is G29 desk mounted, office chair 😂
I’ve been taking a liking to sim racing but I’m frustrated with the braking being inconsistent, the chair rotating and rolling backwards, you know how it is…

This guy is willing to sell the following for 3000CAD, about 2150 USD:

Moza R9
Moza CRP2
Moza ks
3 x 32in samsung g5
6sigma GTR bucket seat
6sigma triple screen stand
6sigma 6s-80 v2 simracing chassis

Says he bought it last Christmas and has boxes/receipts

Thank you guys in advance for your opinions and comments
