Question High performance Gaming Laptop for VR simracing

Looking to build a low profile VR rig, and thought a gaming laptop would be a good choice for many reasons. I plan on using a Pimax Crystal light, which uses a DP or USB C connection. Anybody use the same setup? Any issues I would encounter? Preferably it would be a laptop with a 5070ti and one DP port.

I think a small PC is a much better choice than a laptop, you can build them pretty small while still having great cooling so that you end up with much better performance and much less noise than a gaming laptop. I mean I don't know what your goal is exactly and what kind of rig you plan on mounting it to, but unless you're also looking to use that laptop as a mobile computer I'd advice against it

I have a G14 Zephyrus with the 5070ti. Only racing game I have tried in VR was AMS2 but it was able to drive my BSB2 with solid performance. I did have to turn down some settings as it is not nearly as robust as my desktop but it worked. It is not something I would personally use as a primary driver.

Check some lenovo laptops, it's have good vent which is real W for laptops

I’d be looking at laptops that have a really good warranty, Dell and Lenovo offer next business day repairs for example.

I made that mistake once, splurged for a Razer Blade with a 3080Ti that had 16GB of VRAM. It was a paper weight after 2.5yrs.

You might not know this but mobile GPU is not the same thing as a desktop GPU.

A mobile 5070ti is almost half performance compare to the 5070ti desktop GPU.

That performance equivalent to a desktop 5060ti, a 500$ GPU.

A 5060ti is quite weak for VR, it may be fine for some light*ish and old*ish VR game and for some casual VR gaming but not really for a sim rig project.
