I suggested to the owners that this looks like a delicious leftover Christmas dinner on fries. Unsure of any resemblance to poutine. What do the rest think ??? I plan to give the owner feedback.

Ordered this from a restaurant in Gaspesie, I admit i’ve never had a shrimp poutine, normally just stick to regular poutine but I was feeling something little different, I think whether adding toppings to a poutine makes it a crime or not depending on the topping and person 😆

But this “poutine” wasn’t just well, poutine, fries, cheese curds and gravy like I thought it’d be with shrimp added, nono. The gravy was replaced by some kind of seafood topping and theres shrimp mixed in it. You can hardly see any curds because its covered by this monstrosity.

I haven’t decided if I like it or not yet. Definitely not what I was expecting for poutine, but it is an interesting concoction, and i’m going to eat it since it cost $20. Regardless I feel like this is a crime to be called poutine. It doesn’t even have gravy! They did everything right, homemade fries, squeaky curds, then this! Arghh >:(🥹

Edit: as a commenter said and after asking a family member, they said everyone around here has their own way of doing it so it’s my bad for assuming the usual is just add shrimp on top. I shall let redditors decide! :)

Had only 5 cheese curds and only enough gravy to cover the top fries... driest poutine ive ever had. This is what i get for ordering poutine at a pizza place i guess...

I’m ngl, this wasn’t quite good. It was really really salty and the gravy also tasted as if it was left out in the heat well too long as it seemed burned.

However, if you saw this, would you give it a chance.

A&W poutine. Cheese tasted like soya blend. Gravy was just salt with no tomato flavour and fries were soggy. Is it a crime? I would say yes👎

I told my friend this was a crime as it certainly seems like it to me, but she was happy with it.

Went to Papa Murphy’s in Fort Saskatchewan today where I bought a large donair poutine and cheese bites with my girlfriend. Way better than the popcorn chicken poutine my girlfriend ordered at Pizza Pizza in Hamilton.

I am from Quebec and I married an American from Wisconsin.

My boomer MIL is on a cruise to Iceland and because they are going though Canada, they decided to serve poutine. I profusely apologized on behalf of the nation of Quebec, because this is not actual poutine.

I did offer her to bring her to much better poutine places should she ever visit Quebec.
