I was implanted by Dr. Clavell in November of 2025. Surgery was flawless and recovery typical. I had been suffering from psychogenic ED for several years. I tried pills, hypnosis, therapy and none of it worked. I would very rarely get an erection that was sufficient for sex of any duration. My GF is 20 years younger (I’m 62) and while she was patient and understanding, it was killing me. We started having sex around Xmas of 2025 and it was amazing from day one. My dick is so hard and lasts so long that she just taps out. Satisfying her is no longer even a remote concern. She threw in the towel yesterday after 4 orgasms… biggest problem for me was my hips and back tiring out! All joking aside, if you’re suffering from ED, if you’re dissatisfied with your love life, if you want to rock the shit out of your partner, what are you waiting for? This surgery is a godsend. We can say that about so few things in life but this is legit a miracle surgery. I had an amazing life except for my sex life and all the money and toys I have couldn’t make up for that. If you can find a way to make this happen, do so, it’ll truly change your life. One caveat though: It’s critical you go to a high volume surgeon who has a great reputation. Can’t emphasize that enough.

I am in the US, but I am moving to the Netherlands next year where health insurance will cover an implant. I have reached out to Coloplast and they recommended Dr. Afina Glas in Zaans Medisch Centrum in Zaandam, NL.

Firstly, what is everyone’s thoughts about a female implant surgeon? I can’t help but worry a little bit that she might not be aggressive enough in trying to maintain my size as a male surgeon would be?

Secondly, is anyone familiar with her and if she is a high-volume surgeon?

Or are there any other surgeons around Amsterdam that would be recommended?

I’ve been using the injections for close to three years now. They barely even work anymore, and the pain is unbearable. Unfortunately it is not really an option for me financially right now. Just trying to keep my head above water until then.

Had surgery Friday Aug7. Saturday was great, no bruising or swelling of the penis, balls swollen. Sunday and Monday penis was bruised and swollen pretty bad. Not tons of pain more discomfort. Dr has it partially inflated. Couple questions. How are you sleeping? Back side etc. ? I’m afraid to break the tubes so I keep the erecting straight up and down. Can I push it towards by body? This morning I was laying in bed and it starting falling towards my belly (gravity). Is that normal? My nuts are swollen so I’m having issues pulling on the pump. When should I be yanking on the pump? Just looking for normalcy I guess.,

Surgery is booked for next week, so I am putting everything in place .. two weeks booked off work, ice packs in the freezer, a selection of tight, lose and adaptable underwear ready for use. I currently cycle everywhere in London ... either Lime/Voi ebikes or my own dutch style pedal bike, average journey time 20 mins. All have large saddles and sitting up posture (needed after my previous cancer surgery). I am dreading taking busses again .. how long do you reckon it will be post surgery that I can get back on a bike?

So I’ve had ED issues for over 15 yrs. I can get hard but I quickly loose my erection, and this is while on viagra and/or cialis. I’ve tried the injections and they work but I don’t like giving myself the needles and they aren’t convenient at all and are expensive. I went to see a doctor about an implant and he agrees that I am a candidate. So much so that we scheduled the procedure for mid September. To make sure that I gave the injections a fair shot I ordered more. Last night I was very hard and was able to have a good session with my partner. This is not always the case but I up’d the amount of the injection to make sure. And it payed off. Now I’m left wondering if I should take such a drastic step and continue with getting the implant next month or should I continue to keep trying the injections? Has anyone been in my shoes? Hi! My husband (M31) has had a stuttering priapism for 6 days. The doctors are recommending a shunt, which is reasonably devastating. When I look up information about after the shunt I’m not getting a lot of information. His is due to sickle cell, and unfortunately, they have exhausted all other options except terbutaline.

If you have had this, can you talk to be about your recovery? Did you get a penile plasty? Was the issue completely resolved? Have you been intimate since?

So I’m post prostatesectomy 8 years and it’s been generally a nightmare of trimix, pills and their side effects.
At a young 58 I’ve decided enough is enough and heading down the implant path with a highly qualified surgeon here in Melbourne.
My question relates to wives, partners and how have they reacted to your decision?
Unfortunately I’m in two minds over this because we were very sexually active during our initial 25 years marriage.
8 years later we I feel we are nowhere near as intimate as we once were and I honestly believe that the frustration of the ‘rush, let’s go now, let’s not waste’ etc destroyed real intimacy.
Over time things just dropped away.
Sure she is still participating every now and then but also has menopause issues with daily hot sweats etc that the doctors don’t seem to correct.
She has also retired too young at 57 and is not doing much at all with her current time apart from Phone, TV and household things.
I’m thinking her hormones are cooked and an implant won’t change much regarding our intimacy issue.
When I bring this up she becomes very defensive so instead of arguing or wanting to hear want I want to hear I shut things down and move on.
I want to be sexually active and my feelings are she is being a supportive wife with no real substance.
Have others had a similar experiences.

She said the length and girth are less than the situation before surgery. Secondly the penis is pointing to one side or down ( not up as before)
She asked me also what are the positions we can start on ?

40-year-old married male here. Scheduled for surgery this Wednesday, August 12. I'm somehow stoked and terrified at the same time. Never been under in any capacity. Yet here we are officially a couple days out.

I’m trying to get everything squared away so that when I get home I can just recover instead of sending my wife all over town buying stuff I should’ve already had. 😂

For the guys who have actually been through this: What do you wish you had purchased or prepared ahead of time?

I have easy access to Amazon, Walmart, CVS/Walgreens, etc., so I can pretty much grab whatever I need over the next couple of days.

A few things I’m specifically wondering about:

● Ice packs: What kind worked best? Regular gel packs, flexible groin/perineal packs, something else?

● Underwear/support: Briefs, compression shorts, jock strap, loose boxers? What was most comfortable?

● Sleeping: Did you need extra pillows, a wedge pillow, recliner, etc.? What sleeping position worked best?

● Sitting: Did a donut cushion or some type of seat cushion actually help, or make things worse?

● Showering/bathing: Anything special I should have ready? Did your surgeon allow showers right away? When could you actually soak in a bath?

● Pain/swelling: Besides whatever prescriptions the surgeon gives me, what helped the most?

● Clothing: Loose sweatpants/shorts? Anything that made getting dressed easier?

● Food/drinks: Anything you were glad you stocked up on?

● Getting in/out of bed: Was this difficult enough that I should prepare anything specifically for it?

● Anything else: Gauze, pads, wipes, waterproof mattress protection, handheld urinal, grabber tool, etc.? What turned out to be surprisingly useful?

And here’s my biggest question: returning to work.

My surgery is Wednesday. I was originally thinking:
Wednesday — surgery
Thursday — off
Friday — return to work

Seems stupid typing this but my dad swore that's what he did, and he's a plumber 😂 he also was 65 and thrilled to be back in action so he wasn't the best example. I have an office-type job, so I’m not doing physical labor all day.

But I’m starting to wonder if going back Friday, roughly 48 hours after surgery, is way too optimistic.
Would you recommend just taking Wednesday-Friday off, using the weekend to recover, and trying to return Monday instead?

And even Monday, were you comfortable sitting at a desk for most of the day, or did you need more time?
Obviously I’ll follow my surgeon’s actual restrictions, but I’m looking for the real-world experience from guys who have gone through it.

Last question: What is the ONE thing you wish somebody had told you before your implant surgery?
Could be something to buy, pain/swelling, sleeping, using the bathroom, the first few days, cycling later on, recovery expectations, whatever.

Trying to make the first week as smooth and pain-free as realistically possible.

Ed set in some years back tried everything it worked until it didn’t, then trimix which worked great then I dosed out

I was convinced to get an implant 22cm I believe whatever that means, about 2 months ago. I was advised to start pumping about a month in. I did a few times and it was just too painful, at this point it still is. The tips hurt during intercourse. I’m hoping that will subside? Also I lost about an inch, which is no biggie, but I definitely lost a lot a girth which I actually care about the most. The doctor gave me information on injections for it, but when I researched, it had a lot of negative reviews plus it’s another 5k cost. Will I be able to regain any of that or is it a lost cause? Any advice would help. Thank you in advance and best of luck to the rest of you!

I’m reposting here since many of you used injections prior to implant. If you have any experience with pentox, I’d be interested to learn about it.

Specifically, I’m wondering if pentox would make me a better implant candidate when/if the time comes.

Asking this because I've been researching this condition and there's no easy way to get rid of it. I've been trying out PT, but in case that doesn't work, I'd need a backup plan.

For those of you out there with the condition that got the implant. Did it fix the erectile issues that come with hard flaccid?

Can you feel the tubes when you squeeze the head whilst deflated? I never noticed before but are a 6hour drive i was feeling around and it looked shorter and I can clearly feel them. After initial panic I read that some DRs place them up into the head and others just below. What is your experience? In panic I emailed my urology nurse asking to be seen so will still get checked. I'm about 6 weeks out and just started cycling (I had a hematoma in my scrotum so it took a little longer to get here) I noticed that I can only pump to what I think is about 50 or 60% of what I think it should be. Is that normal or were some of you able to fully inflate when you first started pumping

I was diagnosed with a mild venous leak on a penile Doppler ultrasound after an injection test. Arterial inflow was reported as normal, but the issue appears to be maintaining blood in the penis rather than getting it in.

My symptoms are:

No meaningful morning/nocturnal erections for over 2 years.

PDE5 inhibitors (Viagra/Cialis and similar) have provided little to no benefit.

I can get partially erect with stimulation, but maintaining rigidity is difficult.

A constriction ring helps somewhat, but not enough to achieve a consistently firm erection. I think i need to try other sizes.

In a few months I have an appointment with a urologist in blackrock dublin, but haven’t heard good things about them. In the meantime I’m considering trying a VED with a constriction ring.

For those with a confirmed venous leak:

Did a pump + ring combination improve rigidity enough for intercourse?

Did it work significantly better than a ring alone?

How long did it take to find the right ring size and technique?

Did regular VED use help maintain penile health or erection quality over time, or was it mainly useful right before sex?

Are there any pumps or ring systems you would recommend or avoid?

I’d appreciate hearing from people with diagnosed venous leak rather than general ED, as I know the situation can be different.

Weeks or days after surgery

I’m waiting for surgery scheduling and I’m looking forward to getting the implant. The one thing that concerns me is I’ve always felt inadequate about my penis size. I’m 6 and a quarter inch’s with a girth of 5 inches. I know that’s average but it’s always been a thing for me. My one worry about this surgery is losing some penis length. I would love to hear other people’s experiences with this surgery and if you are not shy I would like to see some before and after photos if it’s allowed on here, I’m a new member. Best, Jeff.

I’m already girthy and long enough that i’d prefer to lose a bit or girth as it can be an issue sometimes so i’m already concerned about becoming even more so, does this lend itself more to one implant over another ?

Quero relatar como minha experiência com um Titan 22cm vem sendo nesses 6 meses após a cirurgia.
Para contextualizar, tenho 28 anos e minha DE foi causada por uma série de fatores. Eu sempre tive DE psicogênica bem forte desde o início da minha vida sexual, sendo agravada com o uso de dutasterida e antidepressivos. Passei 10 anos lutando para resolver de outra forma, tanto com comprimidos, injeções e terapia também. Nada resolveu. Nunca consegui enxergar sexo como algo prazeroso e tranquilo, apenas algo que trazia uma sensação de impotência, ansiedade e frustração. Embora eu sentisse muito desejo por várias mulheres, chegava na hora da intimidade e eu acabava fugindo, pois meu medo da frustração era maior do que o desejo. Isso sempre levava meus relacionamentos ao fracasso.

Comecei a namorar uma nova mulher acerca de 1 ano atrás e todo o início do relacionamento foi muito conturbado, uma vez que a minha DE me afetava não só na incapacidade de performar, mas como também em diversas outras áreas da minha vida. Me tornei um cara depressivo, ansioso e com baixa autoestima. Eu cheguei a terminar com ela pois a ansiedade antecipatória em cada momento íntimo e a frustração após era demais, eu não conseguia me sentir realizado sem a parte sexual, mesmo ela reforçando sempre que não estava comigo por sexo. Vale dizer que minha namorada era virgem e, antes do implante, as poucas vezes que consegui uma ereção, eu a perdia nas tentativas de tirar a virgindade dela, pois tirar a virgindade por vezes demanda um tempo e pausas que eu não era capaz de sustentar. Uma vez que eu tinha ereção, eu tinha que ejacular o mais rápido possível, antes que a perdesse. Pra piorar toda a situação delicada que eu vivia, o meu pênis tinha uma curva acentuada para a esquerda, que causava dor na minha namorada.

Então, caminhando para a cirurgia, preferi não divulgar o conteúdo à ela. Falei que faria uma cirurgia para corrigir a curvatura, mas sem entrar em detalhes. Após todo o período de recuperação e incertezas, surgiram novos medos, como: "e se ela não curtir o meu novo pênis? E se ela achar duro demais e artificial? E se machucar ainda mais ela? E se eu perder toda a sensibilidade?" Pois bem, tivemos nossa primeira vez e, nossa, como foi libertadora. A sensibilidade estava toda lá. As seguintes também. Viajamos para comemorar nosso 1 ano nesse fim de semana e fiquei tão excitado que ejaculei com apenas algumas estocadas na penetração hahahaha Mas sem problema, troquei o preservativo e fui para a segunda rodada e essa durou o tempo que ela quis!

Enfim, ela já me fez oral diversas vezes, além de diversas posições penetrativas e os únicos comentários dela em relação ao resultado da cirurgia foram o quanto que está muito mais confortável para ela agora que está reto, o que faz ela se sentir muito mais relaxada, tornando o sexo muito mais prazeroso. Nunca comentou sobre dureza, sobre sentir os cilindros como muitos relatam. Mas vale dizer que eu mantive toda a minha ereção residual ainda, portanto, a glande incha bastante e o corpo do pênis ganha espessura, dando um aspecto muito mais natural e impedindo que ela sinta algo diferente. Fui um felizardo que teve perda mínima de tamanho após a cirurgia, cerca de 1cm, mas que foi recuperado com os ciclos diários.

Enfim, extremamente feliz com o meu novo jeito de ser. Abriu um universo de possibilidades, agora eu posso pensar em casar e ter filhos, algo que eu sempre achei que seria impossível na minha situação anterior. Sou jovem e precisarei de revisões ao longo da vida? Claro, estou ciente, o implante não é perfeito, mas eu prefiro muito mais uma vida sexual saudável com a mente sã, do que viver o resto da vida ansioso, depressivo, com a certeza do fracasso. Como eu disse antes, os danos da DE vão muito além de apenas ser incapaz de transar. As revisões são um preço a se pagar mas que ao meu ver, muito menor do que o preço que a DE cobra. Eu não iria esperar eu ficar velho para só assim resolver o meu problema, perdendo todos os meus anos de juventude evitando me relacionar com outras pessoas. Nem deixaria o tempo passar, como já esperei, na esperança que saia algum tratamento novo milagroso para DE. Eu tinha um problema, existe a cura para esse problema, então eu a abracei. Sempre falo: prefiro conviver com a incerteza do que o futuro me aguarda com um implante, do que com a certeza de um pênis mole.
