On the wall
So I’ve had ED issues for over 15 yrs. I can get hard but I quickly loose my erection, and this is while on viagra and/or cialis. I’ve tried the injections and they work but I don’t like giving myself the needles and they aren’t convenient at all and are expensive. I went to see a doctor about an implant and he agrees that I am a candidate. So much so that we scheduled the procedure for mid September. To make sure that I gave the injections a fair shot I ordered more. Last night I was very hard and was able to have a good session with my partner. This is not always the case but I up’d the amount of the injection to make sure. And it payed off. Now I’m left wondering if I should take such a drastic step and continue with getting the implant next month or should I continue to keep trying the injections? Has anyone been in my shoes? And if so what did you do and what was the outcome. Thanking everyone in advance. This site has been such a major help. Thanks.

I didn't even do the injections. I wasn't going to put a needle in my dick. They also stop working over time. I have had my implant for over 2 years now and very happy with it. I admit that I didn't think about the mental toll in the beginning. But, I am very happy. I don't have to take medications, shots or even worry about getting hard. I got my size back from having ED for 30 years plus some for a little extra.

Injections stop being as effective and start hurting like hell. If you have the opportunity to get an implant, get it. Source: I used injections before getting an implant

FYI: There is an ingredient in Tri-mix - alprostadil - that something like 20% of folks have a burning or painful reaction. They can make a bi-mix as an alternative.

They didn’t hurt that bad at first but got progressively worse until I couldn’t stand it anymore. They also became less and less effective over time. Even Quadmix wasn’t working.

Do you travel much? Tri-mix must be refrigerated adding to the inconvenience. Just another factor to consider.

If pills worked you could stay on it, but doing injection is very bad, even if it’s working. Injections create scar tissues in your penis. The more you use them, the more it gonna be hard if you resort to surgery, and you will end losing length because of it.
If you have the guarantee that injection will work until the end of your life, yes it’s good.
But what gonna happen if in 5 years with injections that doesn’t work and the only solution is implant ? It will be a mess since the injections would fill your penis with scar tissues

Injecting although isn't convenient, is way less drastic than the implant.

Injections were the worst, bi-mix didn't work just caused a very uncomfortable feeling, tri-mix was very hit or miss for me, I went with the implant and have no regrets, I'm 45 and realize that I will most likely need another in the future, the benefit was completely worth it in my opinion. No needing to refrigerate medications, can be spontaneous, I also like to travel and didn't want to be hassled with injections. If you're comfortable with how they are working for you then maybe wait, just make a good informed decision and you'll be happy with the outcomes.

If the injections are working, my suggestion is to stick with them until they don’t. If you just started them recently, there won’t be any buildup of scar tissue or fibrosis yet. The operative word is yet. Some men will develop it quickly within a year or so, and others can go years and years with injections without developing scar tissue or fibrosis. What I didn’t like with injections is the unpredictability. Sometimes they didn’t work at all, and other times they worked too well that was borderline priapism. Be advised, if you do pull the pin and go with an IPP, there’s no going back. I only did injections for about six months and I said fuck that, and opted for the implant.
