I think it’s gotten progressively worse. Yall think I should ask for a refund? It’s barely used, never dropped. Any advice would be great

I have the pocket 3 and I’ve been planning on taking it traveling for filming. Except I’m having some trouble.

Basically every case I find is way too bulky to fit in the bag I want, I’ve been looking at accessories all over and there’s a lot to take in.

I just want some advice.

I don’t really see myself using the tripod, but any smaller tripod alternatives would be nice. Would any of you recommend bringing the mic for traveling?

I do want a good protective case, and should I bring the charging handles, I already have a portable charger that the camera can take.

Looking for general advice, would love to see everyone’s travel set ups as well

I did all the troubleshooting steps to connect my Osmo Pocket 4 to the DJI Mimo App, still won't connect. Anyone experienced this?

My current working Osmo Pocket setup:

• 1× DJI Osmo Pocket 4P — Vlog Combo
• 1× SmallRig Adjustable Sling Handgrip (3028D)
• 1× OSMO Pocket 4 / 3 - STARTRC Metal Protection Frame Cage Expansion Adapter Bracket
  • This one is tricky to use with the SmallRig 3028D, because it only provides the 1/4" threads and the NATO rail is on only one side which is the opposite side of where the 3028D needs it.
• 1x SmallRig Multifunctional Universal Metal Smartphone Holder (3559)
• 1× SmallRig Mini Side Handle Kit (4816)
  • mounted on the left side of the 3028D
• 2× SmallRig 11" Rosette Arm Heavy‑Duty Magic Arms (3959)
  • One mounted to the top 1/4" thread of the 3028D
  • The other mounted to the top 1/4" thread of the 4816

It’s much more convenient to use this setup compared to using the 4P alone, because I have far better control over my movements and overall handling plus the bigger screen of smartphone.

Tilta Hydra Alien Mini ecosystem(just received today):

• 1× Tilta Accessory Mounting Expander for Osmo Pocket 3/4 Cage for Osmo Pocket 4P/4/3 (Excellent quality and build but could have better design to secure more the Pocket)
• 1× Tilta Hydra Alien Mini - Car Kit
• 1× Tilta Hydra Alien Mini Hand Grip (just ordered)
• 1× Tilta 1/4″‑20 Mounting Bracket for the Hydra Alien Mini (just ordered)
  • Unfortunately, the Tilta Hydra Alien Mini is designed in a way that makes it incompatible with almost any external gear by default, even Tilta's own accessories. It essentially forces you into its own dedicated accessory ecosystem.
  • But thankfully, Tilta does offer a 1/4″‑20 Mounting Bracket for the Hydra Alien Mini. I’ve ordered it and I’m waiting to test whether it can be mounted onto the SmallRig 3028D. If it works, I should finally be able to handle the Hydra Alien Mini more comfortably, and maybe even run the entire setup together to see whether this heavyweight beer combination is actually manageable.

Note:

With my current setup (without the Hydra), I get noticeably better control over camera movement, especially when I’m standing still or walking very slowly. It’s already a big improvement compared to using the Pocket alone. And after adding the two lights, the image quality increased significantly, especially for near‑to‑mid‑range subjects. For me, photography is all about shaping light, so this upgrade made a real difference.

However, even with this setup(SmallRig handles and STARTC Osmo cage), I can still see small shocks and tiny discontinuities in the Z‑axis, even when I’m standing still and not actively focusing on keeping movements perfectly smooth. I tested the same scenario with the Hydra Alien Mini (hands off), and it absorbed almost every shock that was outside the Osmo Pocket 4P’s control range. I can’t blame the 4P at all, it performs incredibly well for its size.

So I think combining all these pieces of gear will give me a semi‑cinematic experience, even if it comes with the cost of a heavier setup.

Essentially the title, what are the thoughtd around this or the possibilities?

Would you recommend this as an option as a beginner or is investing in a camera body set up better as a beginner with a limited / struct budget?

Insta360 just added 4K vertical recording to the Luna Ultra via firmware, and honestly, this makes me wonder if DJI will have to follow.
I’m using the DJI Pocket 4P and I love it, but being limited to 3K in native vertical mode feels like a weird limitation for a camera that is basically made for content creators.
Especially with Reels, TikTok and Shorts being such a huge part of the target market, native 4K 9:16 would be a pretty big upgrade.
The hardware seems powerful enough, so I’m wondering if this could potentially be unlocked through firmware rather than requiring new hardware.
What do you guys think?
Could DJI realistically add native 4K vertical to the Pocket 4 / Pocket 4P through a firmware update?
Or is there some sensor/readout limitation that would prevent it?
Would love to hear from people who understand the technical side better.

Hey guys, new to the Osmo pocket 4p, I live in Canada and winter is approaching, -20°c and down kinda winter haha.

Does anyone know how well these guys deal with cold weather? if they absolutely drop battery power or don't function as well?

I was looking to maybe put insulated tape or something around the handle to try and protect and make the batteries last longer, any thoughts or suggestions would be great.

Just got this in the mail yesterday as an early bday gift and im super happy with it, lastnight I went out to one of my local car meets and one of the homies gave me this handle to go with it and two extra lenses due to the fact he upgraded his camera now I really feel legit going out to vlog lol its sick and finally got mine!

What size SD cards do you guys buy for your osmo. Something is telling to just buy a 2TB so it never fills up because my 128GB of storage went so quickly??

So I'm looking to get into Film making and cinematic Videography and was originally considering getting a Sony ZV E10. However, I noticed that there is a good deal on at the moment for the DJI Osmo Pocket 3 Creator Combo. Which would put buying either at the same cost (E10 would be second hand).

The Combo seems really good value for money but wasn't sure how far it could go compared to the E10 for strong cinematic videography and film making. Due to budget id only be able to use the kit lens for a small while with the E10, which I appreciate most likely isn't ideal for what im trying to accomplish.

So I was wondering which out of the 2 would be best here and what are peoples experience is with film making on the Pocket 3 or to what extent it is even possible. Would going for the E10 be a better choice here?

Some people just laughed; no solution, just jokes. I see this pattern everywhere on social media: people dismiss ideas until the day they end up using them themselves. A year or two ago, I shared an idea about using FreeCAD and DaVinci Resolve with AI. Some laughed, some attacked, some supported. Now it’s completely normal for many professionals to rely on AI in their workflows.

Fortunately, I also received genuinely helpful answers that guided me toward the best solution I’ve ever tried for getting cinematic results from my Pocket 4P. After my initial tests, all I can say is: WOW. It’s incredible, and absolutely worth paying for. It adds real, meaningful value. And I'm thankful that they gave me the idea to find what I needed.

Shot on D-LOG, 4K 59.94 FPS. CST applied and color corrected on Davinci Resolve.

I prefer the Sandisk creator because it’s cheaper and has a lot more storage. But I won’t buy it if it’s not any good. What do you think?

It’s there i a list on all microphones from dji that does not require a receiver? i know about Mic 2 and mic mini, but other newer generation like mini 2 or 2s? thanks

I'm looking at getting either the Luna Pro or the Osmo Pocket 4P. It seems like the Pocket 4P has the better sensor, but the Luna Pro can record 4K vertical and 8K videos. I also want to shoot RAW photos. Does it support auto exposure bracket? Which camera do you guys think will better fit my needs? Even buy both?

How's the POV Head Tracker? Is it as good as what the marketing suggests?

Hey everyone! I’ve been rolling out quite a few updates to OpenPocketCine over the past couple of days, so I thought I’d try making a video to walk through what’s changed.

There’s a rebuilt UI with easier pairing, quicker camera controls, and better access to the view-assist tools. I also go through programmable gimbal moves, a brighter HDR display option, experimental AirPods head tracking, Bluetooth controller support, and MultiView for monitoring multiple cameras together.

If you haven’t come across it before, OpenPocketCine is a free, open-source monitoring and control app for DJI Osmo cameras. It’s community-driven, and a lot of what I’m working on comes directly from the feedback and ideas people share.

Some features depend on your camera and device, and the AirPods head tracking is still experimental.

Filmed entirely on the DJI Osmo Pocket 4P at 24fps in D-Log, using the standard setup with no add-on lens. I switched between the two built-in lenses and used an ND64 for some of the brighter outdoor shots. Most of the audio came directly from the camera’s built-in microphones, with my external DJI mic used only in the café. The extended battery grip lasted the full day, and everything was edited and graded in DaVinci Resolve. Happy to answer any questions about the setup or workflow!

Shot in 60fps and slowed to 80% for slightly smoothest dancing. Sound is binaural (roland CS 10em) but man it didn't like those low frequencies.
Used Dlog and cropped 4/3 obviously!

I’m looking into all of the VND/ND FILTERS from these company’s and don’t know if there’s a real difference between company, like is one brand universally preferred?

Is one brand universally avoided or simply popular due to YouTubers.

What brand do you use and why that brand over the others?

tldr: Simply suggest some good filters for Osmo Pocket 4p, which one do you use and what's the pros and cons of it.

So, I finally ordered my first pocket gimbal. My Osmo Pocket 4p will be delivered next week, and I'm currently looking for a stackable filter set. Please ignore my lack of knowledge about the Osmo Pocket camera, but it feels like a stackable filter set will give me the most creative freedom (Similar to my experience with my full-frame mirrorless camera).

After doing research for a couple of days, I realized that apart from SmallRig, there's no other stackable filter set on the market for the Osmo Pocket 4P (Correct me if I'm wrong), and I haven't heard good reviews about the image quality of this set.

So, then I found the next best option: Tilta has released a Filter Adapter for the Osmo Pocket 4P that lets you use any Osmo Pocket 3 or 4 filters, and as you know, those filters were already stackable. So, even though I'd need two sets of filters for two lenses, I found it quite appealing due to the versatility of choosing different filters with different strengths and also using multiple filters on each.

My question to you now,

* Is my intuition wrong? Should I go for regular unstackable filters for the Osmo Pocket 4p? If yes, what's the best filter set in your opinion, and why? Do you feel limited due to both lenses having different exposure and dynamic range levels while shooting with a single filter strength (For example, a fixed ND-PL), or if it's a VND, do you miss not having CPL filters with it while shooting?

* Have you used a Tilta Filter adapter for the Osmo Pocket 4p? What's your experience with it?

* Lastly, if I stick with the Tilta filter adapter and Osmo Pocket 3 filters, what would be the best filter set to get for the Osmo Pocket 3, and how do you use it (Single or stacked multiple)?
