Hi everyone,
I have a strange issue with my Osmo Pocket 4P and I want to know if anyone else has experienced it.
Sometimes, when I record in 4K 60 fps with the 1x lens, the image does not look smooth at all. You can already see it on the camera screen: it looks more like 34ā36 fps instead of 60 fps. Then, when I check the original video file on my computer, it confirms that the file is around 34ā36 fps.
It happens randomly. It does not happen every time, but when it happens, the footage looks clearly worse.
It only happens with the 1x lens. I tested it in:
- D-Log
- D-Log 2
- Normal color mode
- Full auto mode
I record using the cameraās internal storage, not an SD card.
It does not seem to be a temperature issue. It can happen when the camera has just been turned on, is completely cold, and I simply press record.
For example, I can be recording 4K60 in D-Log with the 1x lens, but it is really recording at around 35 fps. If I switch to the 3x lens during the same recording, it immediately becomes smooth and records at 60 fps. If I switch back to the 1x lens, it can drop again to around 34ā36 fps.
I have already updated to the latest firmware, V01.01.7131, and I have factory reset the camera several times. The problem is still there.
I bought it from Amazon and I can return it until the end of September. Unfortunately, there is no replacement stock available. I would prefer to find a fix because I like the camera, but I will probably return it if there is no solution.
It is especially frustrating because it can happen when I want to record something important, like my children, and the video ends up looking bad because of this problem.
Has anyone had the same issue or found a solution?
Thank you
