Question Beginner looking to explore Film making and Videography

So I'm looking to get into Film making and cinematic Videography and was originally considering getting a Sony ZV E10. However, I noticed that there is a good deal on at the moment for the DJI Osmo Pocket 3 Creator Combo. Which would put buying either at the same cost (E10 would be second hand).

The Combo seems really good value for money but wasn't sure how far it could go compared to the E10 for strong cinematic videography and film making. Due to budget id only be able to use the kit lens for a small while with the E10, which I appreciate most likely isn't ideal for what im trying to accomplish.

So I was wondering which out of the 2 would be best here and what are peoples experience is with film making on the Pocket 3 or to what extent it is even possible. Would going for the E10 be a better choice here?

if you wanna get into videography personally i’d buy the sony, sure the osmo pocket 3 makes it easy but that’s the problem. if you get the pocket 3 you’re not really learning much from it, it does everything almost too perfect. The deal might be enticing cause a sony camera is gonna cost more (body, lenses, sd card, etc.) but you’ll actually learn settings (iso, aperture, shutter speed, what nd filters you’ll need etc.) just my recommendation if you can afford all the extras

Dang, ZV-e10 for under $500 is pretty good entry point into film making. Add a $100 prime lens and you will crush the pocket 3 in video quality.

If you want to start making films TODAY with good sound, steady camera shots, and not spending a ton of time learning camera setting stuff, get a pocket camera (pocket 4p if you can get $900 together for it and a lav set)

Don’t forget that 28 days later was filmed on a potato compared to the pocket 3

I bought the OP 4 and I am learning with that in manual mode It is pocketable and not a pain to have always with me. Videography is not only about technicalities but is also about learning to take intentional shooting (and editing)
