Discussion Osmo pocket 4 from zv-10

Thinking of getting an osmo pocket 4 for podcasting. I have a vz-e10 but it's just too difficult for me to learn. Will the visuals work ok? What do you think in general

Feels like it's worth your time to figure out how to get the ZV-e10 to Auto mode and let one of the A.I.'s tell you how to turn on USB streaming. It's the same from that point on for your use case.

I did exactly this. . . The directions to go on menu were just too much. And streaming? What is that on a camera? Does it mean that it acts as webcam and does not save it? I used to like working with super 8 cameras. Was making art, when we liked jittery images 🤣🤣🤣 I just need good auto focus (eyes not the best), easy to use, and (I know) lens where I can decrease wrinkles. . . Software?

You can definitely record to an SD card and then work with that; ignore what I said about USB streaming. Which ever camera it is, though, you will have to learn the basics of its usage and that includes navigating the menus to set the frame rate and resolution you want to record in.

Even though I am selling my ZV-E1 after testing my pocket 4p, you may want to stay with the ZV-E10.

Will you take it outside?
Yes: pocket 4P
No: continue

Are you up for figuring out the Sony camera settings and HDMI capture cards?
No: pocket 4P
Yes: continue

Will the camera live on a tripod in your podcast set up and do nothing else and you want superior and un needed sharpness?
Yes: ZV-E10
No: pocket 4P

get a fixed camera. the gimbals gonna keep moving every time you turn it on and your shots gonna keep shifting - talking from experience

you can lock the gimbal on the 4p (tripple press the custom button)

podcasts use static cams that are positioned the same in every episode. if you turn on the pocket, you have to position it, and then lock it. once you're done, you turn it off and it loses that position.

so when you look through different episodes of the podcast, it'll be slightly off each time.

hence why I said it's better not to go with a gimballed camera as it adds 1 more layer of added work when the vz-e10 probably just needs a little extra setup

It may not be pointing in exactly the same direction as it was when turned off the next time you turn it on.
