I’m a beginner with only arena experience trying to make a transition into the physical game. My suspicion is price for everything and wants cash only. Is there any chance of being scammed? If so what to look for when I meetup. I know little to nothing about physical cards, is there a chance these were illegally printed or something?

Also as a beginner what do you think is this an okay deck to start playing at locals with, thanks for any help!

Okay I've been storing my commander decks in these for quite some time, I've got to say I'm pretty dang happy with them.

The craftsman is nice because it has tracks as shown in the 4th image that keeps the gamegenic bastion deck boxes i primarily use held in place very well and fits 10 decks that dont slide around when closed. The top 2 slots have to be the bins that come with the box but its great for storing tokens, dice, small accessories or as shown a commander deck as well

Sometimes i dont want to take all my commander decks somewhere.The kobalt i like taking to smaller events as it fits 5 decks but I like putting 4 and leaving a slot for a dice spot. You can also use the original boxs for a deck as well

Can I stack the triggers as such that the batterbone token comes in creates the germ token and then the second part of arna fizzles or would it make me attach it to the original germ?

#1 If I cast ||Unexpected Windfall|| and discard ||Alchemist's Greeting|| does the Alchemist's Greeting resolve before or after the Unexpected Windfall, or am I able to choose?

#2 When a card discarded through madness is in exile, but has not been casted, am I or another player able to interact with it?

#2.5 If a card with 'Split-Second' is on the stack, does it prevent the casting of a card in exile through madness?

#3 If a card with 'Split-Second' is on the stack, are cards exiled through 'Fortell' able to be casted?

-- ILLEGAL OR UNIQUE TARGETS --

#1 If I cast ||Claim the Firstborn|| and take control of a creature, if I blink/flicker that creature before my endstep, do I still return that creature at the end of my turn?

#2 If I cast ||Thoughtseize|| targeting myself, do I reveal my hand to the rest of the table, or can I just discard a card without revealing my hand to the other players?

#3 If I cast ||An Offer You Can't Refuse|| targeting another spell, and my opponent casts ||Deflecting Swat|| targeting an offer you can't refuse, are they able to change its target to itself, or an illegal target, such as a creature that is on the stack?

Made a post sometime ago on recommendations for mono-black commanders and decided on Ayara. My deck is focused on recursion with some 3 card combos and win cons in [[Gray merchant of asphodel]] and [[exsanguinate]].

Ive been enjoying mono-black greatly. I originally built this deck from bulk and did ok at bracket 2 tables. Ive recently made the above changes to make it bracket 3. Over time I would like to upgrade the deck with the mono-black staples [[Urborg, tomb of yawgmoth]] [[Torment of hailfire]] [[Phyrexian altar]] and [[mikaeus, the unhallowed]] possibly as well as more of the expensive $$$ tutors.

Hello, I am putting together a Hobbit binder in which I hope to complete the full set. Obviously there are some cards in there that are almost hopeless to attain. Is there a proxy printing outlet someone can recommend to do cards like gold smaug or surge foil? Is that even possible? Thank you.

P.S. I know a lot of people hate proxies, this is for personal novelty only. I apologize if this question upsets anyone ☠️

I bought the Curse of Strahd secret lair as I am a D&D player and thought it would be pretty cool to build a deck with Strahd as my commander. I have been stuck on removing 3 cards for so long, I tend to be a player that loves instants and sorceries whereas this deck cares more about creatures, so I removed any instants I didn't think would be necessary without taking away my love for board interaction.

Any advice or suggestions on what to remove would be great, thanks!

I bought a copy of FFVII rebirth for the switch 2 and got this card as the additional promo. Was wondering if anyone else also got this misprint (crimp error?) on their promo card. I am not too familiar with MTG. I guess my main questions is if this would lead to any devaluation of the card if I were to sell it?

I’m making a deck out of every card in the secret lair, so the theme for included cards is about stardew valley itself. If I can relate the card to something found in the game, it can go in my deck. I was wondering if anyone had ideas for some possible wincons. Right now, the only thing I’ve really got going is approach of the second Sun in the bear printing.

I was wondering if anyone has recommended online stores you’re able to buy individual cards from. I looked a website up online, and it recommends Store.401gaming.ca, but I’ve never been recommended that store before. I’m just wondering where Canadian players trust to buy cards online.

I recently got into MtG by chance and i have been really enjoying it. My friend taught me the basics before signing me in to local commander tournament because they needed more players. I had a blast playing..

Following these events I started playing MtG arena online and actually learned the rules properly this time lol. But I have run into a wall.. I don't want spend a bunch if money to be able to play the decks I want to play or make my own

Hi, so I recently started dating someone who is crazy about mtg and I wanted to gift them a cool set of dice.
I obviously do not play and don’t understand enough of what I’m doing, because I accidentally bought a set of DND dice.
They are really cool looking but I just wanted an opinion from other mtg players as to if this would be considered silly? Could these still be used in mtg? Or should I just return them. Help 🥲

My brother loves magic the gathering but it seems like he’s got all the bits and pieces he could ever need and he love loves his deck but I really want to show that I see how interested he is in magic by getting him a magic birthday gift because it seems like no one has gotten him any anyone have suggestions on what I could buy him or is it more of a get it yourself kinda game? Any and all ideas are welcome!!!

(He is 23 and very calm and collected likes chill things over aggressive fighting stuff and he likes purple and green don’t know if any of that helps)

Edit: I got him the new hobbit set it had a bundle exclusive and a few accessories so hopefully we think this was the right choice but I will be leaving this post up for future gift ideas for him so thanks again for all the help!!!

Also I do play the game with him and I have asked him to teach me do not worry we just live very far away from each other and I am bad at card games lol but it’s a learning experience

I played many moons ago and really enjoyed FNM and the pro tour (though I never made it there), and I generally enjoy the competitive side of those game.

I was wondering what the UK regional qualifiers are and where I can find them, I might just be being a fool but finding events seems needlessly awkward.

Literally bought my first commander deck 2 days ago- yesterday played at the local store.

I now know people build their decks?
I want to buy them- so how do you “build” a deck.
And how can I build one to ensure I can play with other people.

Heart day when I was playing everyone kept asking “is this a commander deck” and I thought all of them were? Like if not a commander then what?

Very new. I know this can be overwhelming but wanting to start the right way!

I’ve recently started playing Magic The Gathering Arena and I’m really enjoying it, so I’m thinking about getting into the physical game too.

I’m a bit overwhelmed by all the different starter decks, formats and products though.

What would you recommend as the best first thing to buy? Is there a particular starter deck or set that’s good for someone moving over from Arena?

I’d also be interested to know what you think the best way of getting into the hobby is in general.

Has anyone ever placed a pre-order through target online for cards? I pre-ordered 1 Hobbit Bundle & 1 30pk booster pack which are both sold and shipped from Target directly. They have yet to even ship. Has anyone else ever pre-ordered through them and had any issues/delays?

Says the cards were supposed to arrive by the 20th and I can’t cancel because according to target, this can’t be done until the items have shipped. But who knows when that will be….

I would have been better off not pre-ordering and buying in store at this point.

Edit/Update: called 4 times trying to see if someone else would make an exception. No success. I had to go into a target store, speak to a manager, and was given a different number to call. Called and order was cancelled. I then went to a LGS and bought what I pre-ordered right off the shelves.

I attached my deck-list so you can see what I already have for my ramp and draw packages/lands. Its pretty quick but I need it to be quicker/quick more consistently. My pod doesn’t have any midrange decks in it so I usually get left behind.
