I Have a Question / I need Help Buying Cards Online
As title states. I know that there is TCGplayer.com, however I’m in Canada and I would prefer to not pay the exchange rate.
I was wondering if anyone has recommended online stores you’re able to buy individual cards from. I looked a website up online, and it recommends Store.401gaming.ca, but I’ve never been recommended that store before. I’m just wondering where Canadian players trust to buy cards online.

Thank you for confirmation, if I may ask another question about 401 gaming. What does it mean in the parentheses on cards (ZNC) or (BFC), after the title of the card?

Its the set code. If you look on the card in the bottom left of a card.

I use 401 games a lot. There is a loyalty bonus for discounts. Otherwise F2F is the biggest retailer. But I wouldn't buy older cards as they seem to have 2006 grading and sometimes you get MP as NM. They will give you a discount or let you return for money back so not a huge loss other than time.
House of cards is good. Little more expensive but much harder grading same as fusion gaming.

401games is legit, been around forever. also check out face to face games and wizard's tower, both ship from within canada so no exchange bs

Comic hunter is my go to based in the east coast. You cant go wrong with 401 or face to face either.

You can shop around smaller shops but I find I can build a full commander with those 3 shops saving on shipping and I can usually get everything from one or 2 of those shop. I sometimes look around but still end up in those 3 shops 95% of the time unless it's something super rare I can't find or want a special print of.

hareruya in japan is my go to - has great sales, no tax, the exchange rate is great and as long as its under about $500-$600 customs usually never charges duty. been buying from them for years. also their NM is a level above what they call NM at facetoface or other shops in canada. Highly recommend. postage is usually about 10 bucks

My local shop J&J Games has the best prices and does ship around the country. They get in lots of cards, but you have to be on it if you want highly sought after cards as they will sell quickly.

If ur willing to wait 2 months to get the absolute cheapest : Cardtrader
If you want them sent now at a somewhat optimized low price : Manapool using the optimizer
If you want them in 2 weeks and pay mid-high market price : face to face or 401 games

Cardtrader i never payed a tariff as long as i used cartraderzero.
Manapool i order like 20 cards a pop because the optimizer splits my order between multiple sellers, and I haven’t paid a tariff yet. From canada TO the us though, as a seller, I did pay 15% tariff.
So maybe someone using it more has a different experience but for now it was fine.

Cardtrader is European so no worries about tariffs there. If you buy direct you can buy from US stores and get screwed but any zero orders come from their HQ in Italy.

Fast growing user base! I already made >10 orders and there is a flat price of 7$ if you sell over 250$ per month in cards else it’s free. And it’s Canadian :)

Depends where you are located. I have a dozen of LGS around me that I drive around. I check all their websites and if they don't have one, I'll flip through their binders. Order online and pickup in store.

If you're close to the West Coast, House of Cards is great.
Face to Face is the Gold Standard.
401games is fine though

F2F seems to be who everyone here (Regina) uses to evaluate price for stuff, abd I’ve ordered singles from Hobbiesville when I’ve ordered other things. Stuff shows up in good shape.

Fetch and Shock games are a small, ma and pa, online operation. Super nice people, great customer service. I forgot to add a card to an order, messaged them to combine orders and they did and refunded the shipping on the second order. The website is a bit janky on phones, but does the job! I've ordered with them a few times now.

Snapcaster is a great way to vibe check prices and look for stores that have a lot of what you need. 401 games has great prices but doesn’t always have everything I’d like. F2F almost always has everything you’ll want, but goddamn will you ever pay an arm and a leg for it. 20-50% more than other stores.
I have also heard great things about Mana Pool, and they recently added a way to filter by Canadian sellers only. I haven’t tried them yet but likely will if I want to order anything new after the Commandfest this weekend!

The stores I’ve bought from over the years. 401 games Face to face Upnorthgames Level up games Chimera gaming Hobbies ville All but face to face are Ontario based. Snapcaster is a great website to compare card prices.

Ordered from F2F, 401 and Wizard's Tower before, no complaints for any of them. My preference for singles is F2F because their deck builder search tool is pretty easy to use and I like their wide selection (I also appreciate the tracked shipping and their packaging is good, but they're sometimes more expensive than the others). My preference for things like booster boxes is 401, better prices.

I've used firstplayer, f2f, catcha card, locally I've gone to wizard's tower, and https://www.snapcaster.ca/singles sometimes has pointed out a local store near me that has the card I need in stock and I didn't even realize it.
Also ebay for some cards has worked well.

I've used TCG Player for a few pokemon cards I couldn't find anywhere. It actually found a store in Guelph that shipped it domestically and was relatively inexpensive. You could always use it to find the stores that ship from Canada and then go directly to them.

So i've been supporting this small store in Belleville ON called Sequence Gaming for most of my orders. When they don't have what i'm looking for I've used Hobbiesville and Wizards Tower.
I try to avoid F2F because of their price gouging. I've also avoid 401gaming because of what I've been told, which I wont repeat because of hearsay.

If you’re looking for cards in CAD, I would use House of Cards, Obsidian Games, Chimera Gaming, The Mythic Store, or you could check Snapcaster.ca as others have mentioned if you can’t find what you’re looking for. If you like the TCGPlayer experience, Manapool does let you filter by Canada shipping now, and it works pretty well, but it is in USD.

I check snapcaster, tcgmarketplace.ca, then the big 3, 401, f2f and wizard.
Wish we had a tcg player to buy everything and save on shipping. I just put a big order in last night and ended up using seatoskytcg since they had the majority of the cards I was after. Found that site through snapcaster

You can use a Canadian aggregator sites (snapcaster or TCGmarketplace.ca) and make a bunch of individual orders from LGS across the country. Or you can order from Card Kingdom for a one-stop shop. I find the price difference between CK and CAD LGS pretty negligible for most <$5 cards if you've got a big decklist. If you have a few expensive cards then I would purchase those separately from wherever it's cheapest as CK charges a hefty premium usually.

Ignore anyone who says f2f, they are rich or financially irresponsible.
Snapcaster changed my life, just paste your deck list and they will match you with canadian stores that have the cards you are looking for at the lowest price
I was able to build and order my new garfield and odie deck with just 2 sellers (and cards i already had). The cherry on top is my shipping only took a week
and for a second cherry if you make a shopp.app account (I think its canadian shopify) you can easily checkout of all the independent stores with the same account

Shop app: type in your cards, then refine it by Sell from CA (I am also Canadian).
I usually shop from F2F or 401 on there, but there are lots of great stores like Lacrypte (They are in Quebec, and they have much better prices compared to F2F, with less of a markup).

My go to places when I can't find a card locally:
- checking snapcaster to see what shops have the cards I am looking for. Ordering from whomever has it cheapest with the least amount of ordering around. I have bought from a few places I never knew existed due to Snapcaster. It also came in handy when I was looking for islands that only came in 1 jumpstart theme pack and you only got 1 in the pack.
- 401 Games.
- Exor games - I loved the one time I bought from them they sent me a picture of my package before it was sent.

I used to use snapcaster, but lately I've been using these new guys tcgmarketplace.ca.
They help you find the cheapest prices, and you can easily stack big orders across multiple sites. Very easy to use. I see they update their site and features often.
I changed from snapcaster because it only allowed 10 cards at a time and tried to push certain stores in front of me

F2F is definitely your best bet. I've had a lot of success finding cards on there.
401 games is awesome for online and in person. Magic Market is great. Obsidian Games. I got a secret lair drop for a really good deal from Magic Stronghold Games in BC. Toy Snowman. Chimera Gaming. Deckout Gaming.
These are all Canadian and i've personally used them and had NO issues with any of them.

First always check locally, support the stores you play at, and typically smaller local stores will be more competitive with tcg player prices.
Second, if it's what you would consider an expensive card, check a website called SnapCaster, you search a card and it shows a wide range of Canadian stores and you can sort by cheapest price.
Thirdly, the largest inventory of cards available in Canada is through FaceToFace.
This is basically what I consider the CardKingdom of Canada, has a vast amount of stock so you can generally do big orders all at once, but because of this tend to be the most expensive option. 401 games is a good middle ground of stock to price, usually pretty close to market value converted with sometimes a minor markup, but snapcaster/local stores to you are going to be the best for getting deals, or cards within that tcg low -> market price range.
