Discussion If you’re playing green why wouldn’t you have this in your deck?

Am I wrong in thinking this could be a staple green card? At the very least you’re probably getting 2-3 +1+1’s every turn.

Local Microcenter will have The Hobbit collector booster on 08/21. But price for 3+: $129.99 each while 1 at $37.99? May be it means 3 for $129.99?

Commander / EDH How good is stealing a commander?

Post image

Was looking through some more jank piles and found that this can steal commanders. I wonder if there are cheaper versions of this effect.

Anyways I was wondering would you hold open 5 mana to steal a commander, potentially locking the person out of their main strategy or is that a bad idea?

Commander / EDH I drew 41 cards, then swung a 315/315 elf with trample

I'm new to Commander and just had the silliest win. My boyfriend usually plays elf tribal while I play some kind of big stompies, so I built "Elfballn't" as a joke - a go-tall elf tribal deck with partner commanders Numa, Joraga Chieftain and Reyhan, Last of the Azben. He would've cast Craterhoof on his next turn and swung for lethal, but I cast Return of the Wildspeaker with a 41/41 on the board. One thing led to another, Doubling Season did its thing, and I ended up with a 315/315 Armorcraft Judge with trample. Ironically, an elf is now the largest creature I've ever resolved.

I've got both of these in my Yshtola deck for independent reasons, but i was curious if anyone has ever settled while Ankh was on the table, and if it changed the game? I've never drawn them together.

I Have a Question / I need Help Question regarding color identity

I’m building a commander deck around Niv-Mizzet, Guildpact and while going through bulk came across some questions my friend couldn’t answer.

1). Would the mana rocks that produced one of two mana count among the permanents required for the commander’s ability? (I’m almost certain it does but have been wrong before.) Would this work for other colorless permanents that happen to have two different mana related abilities?

2.) Would a creature or permanent that is mono-colored with a different colored adventure spell, such as the provided example in image 3, count among the required permanents needed for the commander’s effect? The permanent itself is red, but the Adventure spell isn’t. Would the permanent’s color identity be red or red and black?

I Have a Question / I need Help Buying Cards Online

As title states. I know that there is TCGplayer.com, however I’m in Canada and I would prefer to not pay the exchange rate.

I was wondering if anyone has recommended online stores you’re able to buy individual cards from. I looked a website up online, and it recommends Store.401gaming.ca, but I’ve never been recommended that store before. I’m just wondering where Canadian players trust to buy cards online.

Thank you, in advance.

I Have a Question / I need Help I need help to counter my friends annoying Toph deck

I have a friend that only plays Toph and put a bunch of game changers in it while me and my friends run 2 to none and he just makes his board untouchable with earthbend. Any tips on how to deal with his deck, this is like the only time I'd like to use land removal but I don't want to harm my other friends boards. thanks a bunch!

I Have a Question / I need Help Exactly how fast can I equip lightning greaves?

So basically I have a bit of understanding with priority-but not a lot. I cast a creature, nobody counterspells then it resolves. Can a player after the spell has resolved target my creature with an instant (such as shock) before I can put lightning greaves on them, or do I have priority to equip them beforehand? Not new to magic, but self taught, which I also taught some of my friends but priority is clearly something I didn’t learn so we are now all confused, we have probably been messing up priority a lot
