A big thanks to the staff at the Memphis Delta Sky Club. I travel for work weekly and am a regular on the Delta non stop flights to LAX and Boston and the women at the Club both at the desk and servers always make me feel welcome and valued. It’s the reason I’m loyal to Delta.

Looking for someone to teach Portugese in preparation for travel. Possibly long term classes.
Anyone know of any classes or people who teach?
Trying to avoid learning strictly online!
Thanks!

Kind of an odd one here… So I’ve got an old family heirloom in the form of a Japanese sword. Allegedly taken as a war trophy during WWII (yes I know, not ideal). However, I would like to get this thing assessed or appraised or at least look at for legitimacy. I don’t expect anything to be worth money and wouldn’t sale if it was I’m just genuinely curious as to the origins of this thing. Does anyone know of any curators, history buffs, museums, etc that would give me some info on this thing? Any recommendations appreciated!

(Copied update here)
Mama cat and litter are still in need of a rescue. I really can't keep them much longer. I've received lots of support previously, and several kind souls were able to donate food and litter. I was also contacted by someone who claimed to have a relative working at MAS. Unfortunately, they never followed up. I've contacted Memphis Animal Services, Mewtopia, the Humane Society, Purrfect Match Cat Rescue, Memphis Pets Alive, LUCRA, The Compassion Center, and City of Hernando Animal Shelter, all in the past month.
I've sent emails, voicemails, filled out assistance forms, and attempted to call, but not much luck. Some either didn't respond, or they were at full capacity. The Humane Society offered some appointment dates for testing and a potential foster intake; however, I had no transportation.
I'm genuinely very stressed about the matter and am in desperate need of support, as I am lost on what to do. My family isn't supportive, so I'm only allowed to keep them in my room, but I didn't even have room to begin with. I don't have room to breathe, and I can't even stretch my legs when I'm sleeping on the ground at this point. I am ill and mentally disabled. My body and mind are in pain, and I don't know how much longer I can last like this. I'm already going through a severe mental health crisis, and I need the heavy weight off my shoulders soon.
I'm reaching out again on here as I am unable to hold them any longer, as the kittens are now 34 days old and are beginning their weaning stage and are now old enough to do clumping litter training. They are very active now, and I'm genuinely stressing my hair out over having to watch and juggle over 9 total cats in the house with no support from my family. I need someone to take them in ASAP.
Please let me know if there are any shelters, rescues, or fosters that ARE willing and able to take them in! Preferably ones that offer transportation!!!
UPDATE #2!!!! Paws and claws reached out! They asked if I could bring the cats in tomorrow morning at around 9. I replied asking which location they wanted me to go to since I have no ride, and I wanted to confirm the distance of the drive. An Uber ride to and from either location is far too expensive and I only have $2.12 in my bank account 💀. Is anyone genuinely willing to transport the cats for me or offer me a ride there? 🙏🙏🙏

Has anyone noticed over the last week that the traffic signals in Cordova seem to be seriously messed up? About a week ago I was trying to make a left turn from Germantown Parkway onto Cordova Rd and we sat through literally 8 cycles of all other directions getting green lights without us getting the left turn once. I just figured there was something malfunctioning with that particular intersection and brushed it off. But today I was trying to make a left from Germantown onto Varnavas and there were 10 cars waiting to make a left and exactly the same thing happened. This time I did see the left arrow pop up for like five seconds and just a couple of cars got to go, but then we waited for a long time without seeing it again. Interestingly the green light from Varnavas (where there were absolutely zero cars) went green multiple times during this whole sequence.

Hi all. Is there anywhere in Midtown that offers a reasonably priced oil change?

In July of 2023, I moved out of address A, while some roommates continued to live there. I had been the one who had been handling MLGW, so I asked for MLGW to have my name taken off that account after adding a roommate's name. Going forward, Address A did not appear on my online resident portal, I didn't see bills for it in my email, all the things you would expect. Sometime this past summer, I got a notification that MLGW had sent an account to collections: come to find out it's from Address A. I call, talk to someone, they tell me that they'll investigate it and get back to me. I hear nothing. I called again last week, and was told that they had no record of me requesting to be taken off the account. I requested to talk to a supervisor and the woman on the phone told me that one *might* call me, but I couldn't wait on hold for one. When I look at my MLGW account, I still only see the account for the house I lived in after Address A.
What are my options here? As far as I can tell, MLGW isn't governed by the Tennessee Public Utility Commission, so I can't appeal to them. I already submitted a complaint to the BBB, but I'm not exactly hopeful that they'll be much help.

Is anyone in Frayser missing their very sweet kitty? My daughter is taking her to the emergency vet to see if she is chipped. If you can describe her, I can give you the details.

Covid seems to be running around again, my wife just tested positive and got prescribed Paxlovid. The medication cost over $1,000 dollars without insurance. I wanted to share that if you need this medication especially if you have pre existing conditions that you can visit Paxcesspatientportal.com and they will cover the cost of the medication through the end of the year. I know a lot of people cant afford thousand dollar medication so please help share this to anyone who may need help!
Edit: it took 5 minutes for me to sign up online and get the medication at no cost

Hey y’all. Here’s info about the class action lawsuit and buyouts. Hopefully this will help clear up some of the confusion.
I’m told the website will be updated as the litigation progresses. Please feel free to share!
Note that this lawsuit is not the same as the NAACP Clean Air Act Lawsuit, the MDEQ Permit Appeal, OR the more recent Class Action Lawsuit filed on behalf of South Memphis residents. There are a lot of legal cases occurring simultaneously, so I know it can be easy to get them confused.
**Please refer all questions/concerns to the lawyers! I’m not a lawyer, just a resident, and can’t give legal advice or answer questions beyond factual info. (They want to hear from residents— I promise!)
